There's a Chipmunk Eating Your Head !! (Day 6 - Part 5 -updated 1/1)

This buffet sounds pretty good. My ds, Jeremy, loves ribs and would probably enjoy this a lot. Me, well I like to leave room for dessert since WDW has some amazing desserts !
I rarely take pics of the food .. I just never think of it as I am about to eat !

The last day is always a BUMMER ! :sad1:

Mmmm, Cape May Cafe is such a good choice. I haven't eaten there in a while, but I have great memories of it.

I saw your other post, and I promise, if we ever get down there for Joaquin to do the Jedi Academy, I will definitely be taking video of that. We all know how that would go down. :lmao:

We got to the park about 7:30 AM

DSC00890.jpg

And they let us in about 7:45 AM. I took as many pictures as I could of the mostly empty park. Although, MK was supposed to be a 1.3 on the crowd calendar on this day, so I was curious to see if that would pan out. More on that later.

We were hoping this MK day would be more productive than the last one.

Glad to see you guys had a good dinner at Cape May Cafe! That buffet always seems more hectic than others (probably the square setup?).

Boo for the last day!! I hope the crowds at the MK stayed low for you guys!

Yes, that kids were talking about that buffet just last night.

Crowds that day were out of this world amazing. The emptiest I had ever seen this park. And I have photos to prove it !!

I hope you and Wingnut had a Merry Christmas !!

Day 6 – Part 2

We had an 8:05 AM ADR for the Crystal Palace.

This was the view from our table. Bridge to Adventureland.

DSC00910.jpg

Again, I didn’t take any photos of the buffet or our food, But we enjoyed it. For once the eggs were good. Everything I had was good. Mickey Waffles, Choc. Croissant, Biscuit and gravy, Bacon, Eggs, potatoes …..it was all yummy. We all enjoyed our breakfast and the kids enjoyed the characters.

After breakfast, I texted my BFF and she and her DD had just gotten to the park. We said we would meet her in Frontierland. It was about 9:00 AM at this time.

On the way, we got sidetracked by some flying carpets.

DSC00940.jpg

There was no line – an hour after park opening – on Thanksgiving weekend.

Awesome.

I think Crystal Palace is the best breakfast buffet. We have always enjoyed it. MK was practically deserted that day. We got so much done. Dis tip: go to MK the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Who knew?

Wow, last day already! This TR has gone so fast!

The Magic Kingdom Christmas decorations are just gorgeous!
CRYSTAL PALACE is so great! Cool that Adventureland was so empty!

DH and the kids really enjoy Crystal Palace. I do as well. So far, it is the best breakfast we have had on property.

Wow that's amazing how empty the MK was!!! :cool1: Good for you guys!

It really was amazing. I was seriously doubtful when I saw the 1.3 posted on the crowd calendar, but it was the emptiest I had ever seen it. and it was OUTSTANDING !! I have more "empty park" photos coming up !!

Day 6 – Part 3

So we left off with us having breakfast at Crystal Palace and then riding Aladdin's Carpets

And since POTC was so close – and had no wait, we hopped on that as well.

DSC00952.jpg

DSC00953.jpg

After that, we headed towards BTMRR to meet up with my BFF.

DSC00954.jpg

You notice the crowd ??? What crowd you say ?? Yep, that is what we were thinking, too.

DSC00955.jpg

DSC00956.jpg

DSC00957.jpg

DSC00958.jpg

DSC00959.jpg

So we met my BFF and her DD at BTMRR. They had just gotten off the ride. And since there was no wait, we asked if they wanted to ride again. Or course they did. So we rode … with no wait. And when the ride (which was awesome) was over, there was still no wait. So we rode again. It was great fun.

BFF made the comment that she wanted to go over to Tom Sawyer’s Island to see if we could find some paintbrushes. I was tempted and contemplated it, but I told her that maybe we should make use of the low crowds while we could and she agreed. I asked her what she wanted to do next and she said “Jungle Cruise”. So off we went to view the backside of water.

DSC00960.jpg

There was no wait. We walked right on.

We had a good skipper who was funny. BFF loves this ride.
After that, we cut back through to Frontierland to ride the Haunted Mansion. Since there was NO WAIT – we took the long way.

Day 6 – Part 4

After HM, we headed over to Tomorrowland. YAY !! I love this ride. We call it the blue train.

We met the kids coming off of Space Mountian.

DSC01018.jpg

They wanted to ride again since the wait was so low, so we said OK.

DSC01019.jpg

DSC01020.jpg

DSC01022.jpg

After that, they wanted to ride the Speedway – you know - since the wait was only 10 minutes.

DSC01023.jpg

I begged off and went to get myself a root beer float.

DSC01024.jpg

Sooo good !!

DSC01026.jpg

We checked on Buzz and there was a back up there. Probably because it had broken down at some point in the morning. The wait said 15 min., but the line was not moving, so we knew it would be more. So we passed and headed over to Peter Pan to use our Fast Passes. We grabbed some Pooh FP’s along the way.

We love the People Mover (blue train) .. it's such a nice time to relax. :thumbsup2 You got some great pics from there as well.
We have yet to do SM and am hoping the boys might try it this next time. I used to enjoy this ride pre-twins.

I love the people over. It is a nice place to relax and take in the sights. I don't ride Space Mountain any more. It is just too bumpy for me. I pulled something in my neck last January on it and had this huge welt on the back of my head for weeks. It was weird. So I don't ride it anymore. I wish there was a way to make it a smoother coaster. it sucks getting old.

Those wait times are awesome!! :thumbsup2 I love the PeopleMover too, it's such a nice relaxing ride!

This was definitely one of our best MK days. We got so much accomplished on such a busy weekend. Sometimes the crowd calendars are spot on . And this was one of those times. I love the blue train!!

Day 6 – Part 5

So we rode Peter Pan. There was about a 20 min. wait in standby, but we walked right on with fast passes. We were so pleased with our day. We were getting so much done !!

DSC01037.jpg

After that, we went to Cosmic Rays for lunch.

DSC01041.jpg

I ordered the pulled pork sandwich for DH and I

DSC01042.jpg

It was icky. I had one bite and let DH have the rest. Yuck. The fries were good though.

The kids got Chicken nuggets.

DSC01044.jpg

I snagged a couple of the kids’ nuggets, so I was fine.
And we got some chocolate cake and some carrot cake for dessert.

DSC01045.jpg

They were good.

So while we ate, we listened to the linguistic stylings of Sonny Eclipse.

DSC01046.jpg

Which DD proclaimed “stupid”.

After that, BFF and her DD wanted to go to the Laugh Floor and we wanted to ride Pooh, so we hugged and said good bye and parted ways – until next time. Which is hopefully April.

So we used our FP’s for Pooh. Which was good because there was a decent wait about that time – about 40 minutes. I would say this was 12:30 – 1:00 PM.

DSC01053.jpg

Still not too bad of a crowd.

DSC01054.jpg

Then we went back over towards Adventureland to get DD a tiara that she just HAD to have.

DSC01065.jpg

DSC01066.jpg

Isn’t it pretty ??
And then ….. we sadly made out way towards the front of the park.

DSC01055.jpg

DSC01056.jpg

DSC01057.jpg

DSC01058.jpg

DSC01059.jpg

The crowd still wasn’t bad. I guess the 1.3 prediction was correct. So DISers take note. If you are going to Disney during Thanksgiving, go to MK on that Sunday after. This was such a great Disney day !!

We made a last stop at the Emporium to get a few things.

DSC01060.jpg

DSC01062.jpg

And then we sadly made our exit.

DSC01063.jpg

DSC01064.jpg

And so that was our trip. It was wonderful !! I highly recommend going during Thanksgiving/Christmas !! The decorations and lights are amazing !! We got really lucky and enjoyed excellent weather. Really, it was just perfect. Another great trip in the books. Thanks to everyone for reading and thanks especially to those of you who stopped to say hello and chat with me.

Our next trip isn’t until April, but it will be awesome since it is five nights at AKL and then five nights aboard the Disney Dream. I am scream-in-my-pillow excited about that !!
