"There's a 104 days of summer vacation..." updated 12/16 page 13!!

Ok, no bridge is as bad as the one near you...none...except maybe the one in Philly...the one i close my eyes as I drive over...LOL just kidding...

After your last update, I want to drive over and give you a big hug. Sometimes you just have to throw up your hands say what the heck and walk away.

I will volunteer your tasting services to DS, funny thing is, I can't get him to even boil water for me...:rotfl:

I would love to close my eyes over my bridge. I hate it!

I really do not like conflict and those people...all of them...were testing me. I felt like I was just trying to make everybody happy and no body wanted to be happy...but the kids.

Okay...can I take my offer back...until he gets some more time under his belt!:rotfl:
Am I the only person who likes it when trip reports get feisty?!?! :lmao:

Oh I like it too...on somebody else's report!!!!:rotfl:

And I thought I was the only one with drama queen's and guilt-tripping grandma's in my family! I, too, resist the drama when I feel it coming on. There's just no need. Hope the next update's a happier one! :goodvibes

I think after all the years of dealing with it...I can feel the tremors...for some reason I knew this would be the day. She just had that look in her eyes. I was just wanting to enjoy Disny to the fullest...leave all the mess at home would she!!!

Okay, this post comes without pictures, thank goodness. It is ugly...and short...but here is my WORST moment in years. I hope you all don't hate me after this one!:scared:

When we got back to the room, we tried to get everybody to lay down for a nap. But by then, even Bits was awake.

I ironed everyone’s clothes for the evening. Then sat the kids down to sign our post cards.

I bathed each of the kids and got them ready, with DH’s help. He addressed the post cards while I jumped in the shower.

After I got out of the shower, I went down to the lobby to buy stamps and mail the cards.

When I went to the gift shop there was Memaw doing some shopping. She was picking out stuff for the kids and for my grandparents back home.

I asked where Pepaw was and she said he was around “somewhere”.

Oh Joy! I knew that meant they were fighting.

I told her we would be down in about 30 to the bus stop and I headed out.

In the lobby I found Pepaw sitting on a bench. So I went over to say Hi.

He asked me what time we were supposed to be leaving for dinner, I told him in about 30 minutes.

He then told me he tried to tell her that and so no, that we were all supposed to met an hour ago. Still not sure where she got that…she was just confused.

So I went up to gather up the gang and head to the bus. The bus arrived fairly quickly.

When we got on the bus, there was a cute little boy in a Prince Charming outfit and a girl in a Cinderella dress. They were definitely customs, so I asked who made them. The father spoke up with a huge grin and told me his wife did. He was so proud of her. I told her they were wonderful.

Her husband kept going on and on about how talented she was. It really was sweet.

Okay…now I know that my stuff is okay…not to the caliber this other mother made…but do you think SOMEBODY, ANYBODY in my family said one stinking thing about my outfits!!!!!?????!!!!

Finally, my BEAUTIFUL daughter leaned up and said “My Mommy made my outfit too.”

I Love that child…

The ride over was quick and we arrived at the MK to take the Monorail over to the Contemporary.

We get to the loading ramp…it was block…the MR was broke!!

OH NO…

So we headed back in the other direction and I said maybe we can get a Taxi to take Memaw over. I ran to guest relations to ask and there was no way. She did say we could take one of the wheelchairs. GOOD!

Pepaw went to get the wheelchair from down at the bus drop off while we waited.

Then Memaw told me that there was no way she was getting in that wheel chair with him pushing it!!!! She told me that she was tired of being treated like this because she was hurt!

HUH?

I asked her how she was being treated.

She said everyone is treating her like she is a burden.

Okay…you may want to skip this part…it is ugly…
At that point I had had enough.

These were my words:

“You have got to stop. What is YOUR problem? At no point in time has anybody but you been concerned about that wheelchair! You tell me one time, anytime, any of us have said anything about the wheelchair, other than to help you. YOU are making this a big deal, and right now YOU are ruining my vacation. You have a choice…get over it and enjoy this or LEAVE.”

Sometime during all of this, DH grabbed the kids and walked away…in the wrong direction.

He was heading to the busses in the direction of Pepaw, who was coming with the wheelchair.

I went to DH and the kids, grabbed Moonk and Bits by the hand and told DH to follow me. About that time Pepaw walked up and tried to say something to me about the time we were where Memaw was at, looking shocked.

I looked at both of them and said “Get away from me. You can join us on the other side of that road up there when you two have figured out this ain’t about you”

I took off kinda dragging the kids. Tears were rolling down my face…I was not happy. I had said things I didn’t want to, but this was about my kids…my kids!!!! DH put his arm around me and told me that it was okay…he knew I was right no matter how hard it was.

When we arrived at the hotel, my parents joined us in the lobby. Nothing more was said about the event. We found the elevators and went up to the floor with the resturant.

Okay, can you believe we were early after all of that?

Memaw and Pepaw sat on some benches while we took the kids in to the shop to buy ears…they had to have ears to meet Mickey!!!

We went to line up for the meal a few minutes early so we could see Mickey come out.

All was well!

Next: Chef Mickey!

I'm sorry to hear about all the drama on your vacation! I don't think what you said was ugly. It sounded like she just needed to hear it. You lasted longer than I would have, I think. I hate drama and don't deal with it well at all. It sounds like you just didn't want their arguing to mess up your kids trip!

Finally, my BEAUTIFUL daughter leaned up and said “My Mommy made my outfit too.”

Awww....how cute!

I hope things take a turn for the better in Chef Mickey's!

Sorry I had to even tell anyone about that! I just hope I wan't too loud and didn't scare any kids!

Thanks...she was the highlight of the trip so many times!

Good for your standing up for your family :thumbsup2

Thanks! I hated feeling like I had to. I should say that me and DH had talked about it back at the hotel before it all happened and somehow I knew it would come to a big conclusion.

I am here crying for you. I can feel how you were feeling. here are some really good hugs for you.   Now, I need to go back and read some of what I have missed! I have been a slacker with the trip reports!

I have finally recaught up with your trip report!

1. We watched the 3 caballeros too so we would be ready for the ride. What a disappointment. That has to be the worst Disney movie ever!

2. My parents would have been the same way. I really want them to go, but they would behave the same and I coudn't handle that! I hope things get better!

3. The bug show and honey I shrunk the kdis are scary! Sara Beth said she is ready to see the bug show...(she can finally watch a Bugs life without being scared), but we will not be seeing the shrunk movie. She screamed and I had to leave 2 years ago!

4. I will be thinking about you tomorrow as I head to VA and cross that nasty, scary, needs to be torn down bridge! I have that bridge. And I have a huge bringe in Newport News to cross but after crossing your bridge it issn't so scary!

Can't wait to read more updates!

You poor thing! I know how it feels to blow up at someone and then feel bad for saying it, but know that it really needed to be said. Then, afterward, you wish you had said it differently. Plus, you're crying and you probably feel worse about it than the other person does for being yelled at. Ugh!

I can't believe you took the kid who's scared of bugs into It's A Bug Life! :rotfl: It's pretty intense, even for me!

Am I the only person who likes it when trip reports get feisty?!?! :lmao:

Nope!! It's a guilty pleasure!

1. Yes it was...the kids were so bored with it!

2. For the most part they behaved...but wow, when things go bad, they go bad.

3. I hate we took him on anything that would scare him, but he really has stopped freaking so much about bugs at home now. Maybe that was therapy for him?:confused3

4. Funny...I read that and wondered why you were going to the VA Hosptal!!!:lmao: I spend half my life there!!! I couldn't figure out why you weren't going to the one here! DOH! Hope your weekend is a blast with the in-laws!

Awww Kim :grouphug: Sorry about that. I hope it gets better. :grouphug:

Thanks...it does!

I just never want to be rude to my parents...you know that whole Honor them thing...but I have to look out for my kids. Me and DH hardly ever fight, and never in front of them. I will not let them grow up like we did!

I hated that it was as scary to them all as it was...but he was pittiful. I tried my best to cover his eyes. I took his glasses off and hid his head in my arms, but he would peak out every now and then, about the time the spiders dropped out of the ceiling!!!:scared1: That scared me!

Just finished reading what you've written so far and wanted to thank you, such a great TR! Sorry about the incident with your mom, but I think it was better to let the steam out than slowly get more and more frustrated.

Good for you not feeding into the drama! I know it was very upsetting to have to say that but you really needed to do it! I hope things clear up and mom gets her "happy" on now! Chef Mickey's is really fun! :goodvibes

That's okay about the drama, like I said, i am way too used to it by now!:headache:

Loving your report and the pictures.

You had me :rotfl2: about the hubby and Hooters as my DH's wardrobe is made up of Hooter's t-shirts he gets teased all the time because he says he just goes there for the "WINGS" :confused3

Sorry to hear about your mother trying to steal away some of your "magic" but so glad you are still enjoying the trip.

So, your's goes for the wings...:rotfl2: Funny guy!!!!

As I said...she is who she is...I learn to deal!

While waiting in line I noticed that I had a voice mail message on my cell. I checked the message and it was from the boarding clinic for Buckley, our beloved doggie back home.

Here is Buckley...at home...not at the kennel! :lmao:

FH000003.jpg

The message was this.

“Hi! This is “Chris” from the clinic. I was calling because Buckley seems to be a little sick. I wanted to get permission to treat him. He is throwing up and has a little diarrhea. Just give us a call back.”

Oh no!

I gave DH a look and stepped away to call the clinic.

When they answered the call I asked to speak to “Chris” and the lady told me he was on another call. She asked why I was calling and I told her who I was and who my dog was.

She then said “Oh, Buckley, we wanted to get permission to treat him because he is throwing up blood.”:scared1:

“Blood?!?! What in the world?”

“Okay, “Chris” is right here, I’ll let him explain.”

Okay…in that few moments I was trying to figure out what I was going to tell the kids if that dog is seriously sick and heaven forbid, something happens to him!

This was not a good night so far.

Chris got on the phone and told me that it seems Buckley was having trouble with the food they were giving him and just wanted to give him something to calm his stomach.

I asked about the blood. He said the girl had the wrong dog.

Yep, then I thought about how somebody else could have their vacation ruined now. Worrier that I am!:sad2:

So, good news, Buckley just had an upset stomach and he missed us! :goodvibes

I went back over to DH and the kids and let him know what was going on . He really felt bad for poor Buckley.

But, good times were ahead.

We sat out on the benches for the opening.

The kids were very excited to see Mickey come out and open the place.

We were seated fairly quickly because we had gotten there so early.

Our waiter came around and got our drink orders then I ran the kids to the buffet.

Can I say, we had great seats. We were in the corner right outside the kitchen. I figured out, the characters came out, turned right, did the first three tables, then us. So, when they came thru the doors, I would quickly usher everyone to their places.

Look! Big Boy eating!!!! the kids really enjoyed eating here.

The earlier events were done with, we all had a GREAT time!!!!

Ready for too many pictures...okay here you go!
