Oooh... I can't wait to try the Crews Cup lounge. Originally we had only 1 ADR planned for this trip (LeCellier) but now that we are stalking JanetMom we feel compelled to table hop onto more and more of her ADR's. I wonder if she has any plans for that location :magnify: :scratchin :rolleyes1

~NM

There will be no official plans for the Crews Cup lounge, but hey, maybe a late night spontaneous catch up session at the end of a day....

It is interesting to hear that BRG pales in comparison. I'm so neutral on BRG, but my husband loves it. But we have no BRG plans for this trip. I just didn't make the cut. So many restaurants, so little time...

Oh thanks! Yes, those types of things should be addressed. But I'm glad you felt comfortable in there.

I'm just nervous, we've had so much unexpected stuff happen this year, I feel like I'm too excited for the trip! :rotfl:
I know how you feel. You will love it! Once you walk in the lobby and start soaking it all up... even being pool side. It's just "another world". Ahhhhhh.... :thumbsup2

OK guys ... here's my personal comments on the alcohol cart and offerings at the YC CL. At every CL at every WDW resort, they constantly change procedures, menus, etc. At the YC, they are trying the alcohol cart to see how it works. Lots of guests like it ... more personal service than "help yourself".

Nothing has changed as far as you getting a beer or glass of wine at 10 AM if you want one. Just ask for it. They were never suppose to give you a bottle of wine ... it was always just a glass at a time. Same with beer. If you want a chocolate chip cookie at 11 AM and they aren't out yet, just ask.

If you encounter a CM that is rude or will not meet your reasonable request, ask immediately to speak to a manager. Just like if you run into a CM anywhere at WDW that doesn't meet a reasonable request, especially one you are entitled to and paid for (like the alcohol should definitely be out ... whether on a cart or on the counter or refrigerator at the designated times), just nicely ask and 99 times out of 100, you will get an apology and it will be brought to you immediately.

If the cart or alcohol itself wasn't out at 8:20 PM one night, then that was a mistake and it should never have happened. But everyone makes mistakes sometimes and something might have happened in the lounge/kitchen and time got away from the CMs. However, somebody should have said something and if it wasn't rectified immediately, then a manager should have been requested.

The offerings/menu is constantly changing at all club levels across property. If certain items are hardly being touched, they change it. Eight years ago the offerings between 5-7 were substantial enough that you could make it dinner. It was never intended to be dinner ... only appetizers. Things changed. Heck, they were going through more ribs in the lounges than at Cape May back eight years ago. That was never the intention of lounge appetizers. People were eating dinner in the lounge on the appetizers.

I personally can't stand the offerings at the Boardwalk and much prefer the offerings at the Y&B club levels. Some people prefer Boardwalk's and love Animal Kingdom offerings. I personally like the Poly's offerings and wasn't that crazy for the offerings at Animal Kingdom club level when we last stayed there. We have different chefs and club level managers that will constantly change and therefore the offerings will change. By all means, go stay at the club level that suits you the most. But be prepared, what was offered in the Polynesian club level four years ago is entirely different than what is being offered today ... that's probably true everywhere. Just like the menu at Cape May (dinners) has changed drastically in the last year. Cape May was always one of my favorites but I really am not happy about it now and lots of guests are complaining about the changes. But when the head chef changes again, the menu hopefully will change for the better again. In the meantime, I love the food at the Captain's Grill and four years ago I thought it was ok but just ok. The dinner I had there last night was as good as the dinner I had at Artist Point a while ago. And the service was unbelievable too ... like a signature restaurant!!!

Please, please, please take time to fill out the survey you get after your stay at the Y&B. Please say you don't like the alcohol cart is you don't like it. Personally I like someone pouring my drinks ... makes me feel special and less like it being at home. Management reads each and every survey ... and it will make a difference in the future if enough people don't like something. Remember when they took away the resort specific merchandise and people wrote letters and made comments about hating not being able to buy resort specific merchandise ... it was on all the surveys. Guess what came back? Resort specific merchandise. Disney is a company that listens so let people know how you feel. You can always write letters about your experience to Guest Communications too. Your comments will get to the appropriate people. And at the Y&B, they do want to know how the guests feel.

I know people lately have been complaining here on this thread about the drink cart and some don't like it but I have to be totally honest, I get lots of very positive comments about it too. They like being served.

I just filled out a survey from Disney about our latest Disney cruise and trust me, if Disney didn't want to hear the comments, all these surveys from them would not be sent out. So please let your feelings be known whether through the survey and/or emails or letters to Guest Communications.

Again, I personally, as a CM at the Y&B, apologize for the lateness one night of the drink cart ... and I hope it will not happen again. If it does, please, please, say something!!!!!

Teena, thank you for this post. our trip in September 2015 will be our first ever stay in a deluxe. I am so looking forward to staying CL, not for the food/snack (that is a bonus) but for the service. My husband and I work every hard. This trip is being planned and saved for, for over a year so we can have a great time, great service and create great memories with our kids.

I'm doing a split stay next April with 3 days at the BCV, and am thinking it might be nice to try Club level somewhere for the first time. Been thinking it might be nice to try The Yacht Club's club level (the lounge is called the Regatta Club right?) I was wondering if anyone here who's been lately had any positive things to say about club level at YC so they can help convince me this is the place to try it.

Saying that, it has to be available when I'm ready to book. (And am hoping to try getting either a bounceback offer from a visit to OKW this fall, or else a annual pass discount)

Well, it's been 3 years since we stayed Club Level at the Yacht Club, but we absolutely loved it. All the CMs were great. We felt like we were millionaires. LOL. If I can afford it, I will definitely book CL again there.

I thought about garden grocer but high fees for a small order, and if I ordered the minimum it really doesn't make sense for us to stay club level. It's just discouraging when other resorts have done this with no issue and even no additional cost. We offered to pay whatever extra for its delivery to IPO but no luck.

Don't know if this would help you, but there is a Hess gas station (that sells milk, water, snacks etc) within walking distance. DH walked there a few times last trip, I believe he cut through BW, down their parking lot and it's across the street.

Last day here and it was positively perfect! Spent the am at SAB, had a
Treat at beaches and cream then took a nap. Went to MK this evening and repeated our 4 favorite rides (mine train, btmr, pirates and buzz light year). Did the dessert party for wishes and then saw the 11 electrical parade. Really a fantastic way to wrap up our trip!!!!

Until we return again...

Don't know if this will help you or not, but Turner Drugs will deliver water, soda and milk, etc. The delivery charge is $7.50 to the WDW resorts. They have told me that they will do same day delivery service. Maybe if CL can't help you when you get there, then you can call Turner Drugs? Just an idea.

And Ninja Mom for, well, being Ninja Mom.......Tube post is one of the best ever!

Just wanted to give this a :thumbsup2

I can't tell you how many times I have gone through several pages of this thread and discovered that Wood Nymph has already answered a question someone had.

Much appreciated!!!

PS- That will come in VERY handy in about 10 days...

:)

I also love to read Ninja Mom's posts! They always put a smile on my face and the neck stretches as I end up shaking my head repeatedly count it as part of my workout routine.

Keep 'em coming!

We stayed in a Garden View room on the third floor. Room 3679.

GREAT pictures of the room and your view. I will post a link to this on the BC Rooms FAQ post and on the view thread.

Thank you so much!!!

Reminder- I am trying to put together information about the accommodation for food allergies and dietary intolerances at the resort. If anyone has information or pictures about items that are available- especially at the Marketplace- I would appreciate it.

The recent discussion about milk and milk substitutes at club level has piqued my curiosity about what is available at the Marketplace.

According to the order form I have for the Marketplace for DVC members, Pearl Organic Soy Milk Vanella (sic) is available. (September 2013)

I don't see any other soy or almond milk listed, but that doesn't mean it isn't there.

Could someone who is going to be there soon please check what is available, and if possible, take pictures.

Thank you!

Dee

We are staying at the BC Club level the end of this July. Our daughter has a gluten allergy and cannot drink milk. Two years ago, we also stayed BC club level and we had a great experience everywhere including the BC. I will try my best to report our experience this time. We didn't do much snacking at the Market Place-but there was gluten free options. Many of the GF cupcakes or sweets had chocolate which she doesn't like so she didn't try any. They had Babycakes products.

In the Club Lounge, she was given gluten free muffins (baked for her from the chef at BC/YC) and offered appetizers that could replace something that she really wanted. Usually there were choices that were naturally gluten free-the veggies, the yummy chips, the dip etc. And the CM got her lactaid.

Hopefully, things will be just as good this time! She picked this vacation as her graduation/valedictorian celebration! pixiedust:

Does anyone have the July movies schedule yet? My kids loved that, just want to tweak up some plans. 13 days!:cool1:
Thank you! ;)

Dee I have link to a disney media PDF that talks soy free options at all of disney...but I'm sure they might have something similar for dairy and gluten allergies as well.

I can email special diets and see if they have others, since we'll be needing it anyways! Also, when we are there, I'd be happy to find out some allergy options and report back!

If you change the end of the link to dairyfree and glutenfree it also shows up! Last update to some are June 2014 being very recent.

My gluten-free experience at the Marketplace mostly consisted of eating naturally gf foods, like scrambled eggs and bacon. I brought a few gf items from home, too, like fruit and nut bars, for breakfast.

We also ate breakfast at the Captain's Grille a couple of times. Even though we had the buffet the chef still made gluten free toast and gf Mickey waffles for me. And he pointed out all the gf options on the buffet. There were a lot of them. :thumbsup2

And as far as the no inside shower facilities, I understand there are none at the Grand, Poly, Contemporary ... at least that's what I've been told. I personally have no problem with jumping out of the pool, rinsing off the pool water on me with the outdoor shower, grabbing a bunch of clean towels and heading into the handicapped bathroom stall (which is large) and changing my clothes. I can wait until I'm home for a proper shampoo. But like I said before, if it's a deal breaker for you, please, please write a letter to Guest Communications. It will be seen by people not at the Y&B and then it will be sent on to the Y&B.

I think it's just that it changed. What was a nice perk over at YC/BC, is now different, and a perception of less and having to rework some ideas. We purposely booked later flight to be able to enjoy the pool. Just would love to be fresh for the plane ride home. Not a deal breaker, but different.

Thanks for the reminder. I know it is July but I didn't realize it was a new month if you know what I mean! Hopefully I will have a copy of the activities list soon and I will post it here.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for July.

:cool1:

Thanks so much for sharing your past experience and for offering to let us know how the food issues are treated during your upcoming trip. My hope is that the resort and Disney in general is getting BETTER, not worse in dealing with allergies and food intolerances.

:thumbsup2

Thanks to both of you for this information. I'll add this info to the Dining post on Page 1. Wood Nymph, I believe I have added some of your observances there.

I also have mentioned before about a Facebook group, Gluten Free at Disney, created by a DISer who is now part of the Disney College Program. She posts pictures of her gluten free meals from around the World.

:)

I have had heard conflicting opinions on whether the Wishes Dessert Party is worth the money. What is your take on it?

And lookie who I got to meet, again, right before we checked out... (my daughter took the pic, so it's a bit fuzzy)
