Thanks, Ninja Mom.

Do you know if they only charge the no show fee when the entire party fails to show up? Or, if they actually charge it in our case, when 3 out of 4 show? $10 versus no Ohana ressie is a no-brainer to us. ;)

I'm pretty sure they don't charge you when the number of people coming changes. They charge you when no one shows up. Of course this can change, depending upon how Disney wants to enforce things, but I think the idea is not to penalize you UNLESS you do not show up at all. This discourages people from making reservations that they have no intentions of keeping.

I'd send a email to guest services and ask them what the policy is before I let someone try to change things on that O'Hanna reservation and probably wind up losing it for you.

Remember the main idea behind that policy was to enforce no shows, so I'd be shocked if they started doing something like dinging people who were a body or two short on a reservation.

When I last visited WDW (May 2014), we were originally going to be a party of 4, but lost one due to work schedules and ended up only being a party of 3. I ended up having a friend come visit for one of our ADRs and changed another to a different restaurant, but I can tell you that I did nothing to our CP adr that was scheduled for 4, and only 3 of us showed up. I was not charged a no show/cancellation at all. We just told them at check in that we would have 3 and not 4 and it was not a problem :)

ETA: You posted while I was typing, Ninja Mom. ;) At least my story offers anecdotal evidence to back up your info!

Attention fellow planning lunatics!

Please be aware that speculation has it that Disney I.T. is having trouble and the system is not available to make FP+ selections in the early morning hours on the day of your 60 day anniversary.

Ninja Mom does not have a life and thus is hovering over her computer waiting for the FP+ reservation system to come back on line while the rest of the world gets it's beauty sleep. If Ninja Mom appears more than a little wrinkly and baggy under the eyes at the Dis Meet on August 18th then you can attribute it to this moment.

Thank you that is all....

Further updates will be provided unless I take a baseball bat to this computer and end my frustration.

~NM

UPDATE: the system seems to be coming back on line at 1 am instead of midnight, so those of you wishing to get that hard to get FP+ will have to wait until then to start making them on the 60 day date of your reservation. I'm not sure how long this is going to go on for but I thought it worth a mention on this resort thread because SO MANY people are going this summer and they may encounter this problem.

Asksiri great news on your room change. Here are some answers

1. No problem at 50s to change out sides.

2. Tusker house you should finish pretty close to 9 am.

Sigh.... they want to ride the same things...Mountains, mountains, mountains!! I can't get them to even consider trying the mine train! ~NM

I've read various promotional materials from Disney that refer to the SDMT attraction as another 'mountain' added to the 'range' in New Fantasyland. The others being the areas around the Beast's Castle & Prince Eric's Castle.

Finally, it is the last day of our school year, officially. I'll be going in tomorrow for a few hours. Only 3 more days to go, then we will be bussing - flying - MExBussing our way to the BC! I guess we should start packing. We still have a few items on our shopping list. The 10 day forecast indicates t-storms and rain possible almost everyday, but that's what we've been told to expect. And, these bursts move through quickly. I hope to meet DISers around SAB and the parks next week!

So I got up and made the donuts - well for a day or two anyway.

This FP+ system is more cumbersome than I'd like. I'm going to have to figure out the rest tonight after supper.

It took most of my time this morning to convince it that only two FP were okay for day 1 and I don't want to go see Ariel, in spite of the system insisting that I do so in the midst of my Narcoossees reservation.

We originally had two rooms at Pop before we switched to BC. We got our Magic Bands in the mail last month before I made the switch. Today I got an email saying our bands will be at the resort when we check in on Sunday. Does this mean we're getting another set? Will they be the colors/personalized like the ones we already have? My kids have been wearing the ones we already have and will probably be crushed if I tell them they have to wear the generic grey ones in the parks lol.

Both sets will work during your trip. So even if they have plain grey ones waiting for you, you can use your personalized ones.

Haven't seen this question asked before- we are staying at the YC-CL, I know that we can have concierge make my ADR's for me. Can I also have them make my FP selections for me?

Unfortunately, no, they cannot do that.

but they can change them when you get there. My DH didn't have a ticket when we booked last year, so I made FP without him and once we got to the resort, they added him to our FP times

Janetmom!

Wake up!!

It's time to make the Fast Pass choices...

Fred the Baker!!!

I worked for Dunkin Donuts for 5 years and the owner of our store looked like Fred. People would ask him to say "Time to Make the Donuts!" and yes, we made them at midnight.

For those of you who think this post is :offtopic: well, it is! But we were on the verge of slipping to Page 2 of the resort thread!

YIKES!

So it's noted on my reservation ( 125 days!! :bitelip: ) that I requested a courtyard/lakeside view - we booked Beach Club garden view.

Knowing that October is crowded at Beach Club and we check in on a Tuesday, I'm feeling like I don't have much of a shot at getting that request granted.

Soooo, are the garden views of the woods nice? Is it really dark/shady? I read sometimes you can see Spaceship Earth? I'm trying to get excited about this type of view in case I can't get the one I requested. :duck:

On our November trip, we stayed at BC garden view and that's exactly what we got. From our room, we could see the wooded area that bordered Epcot. On our left was BCV. It wasn't anything great but it was very quiet and peaceful.

We had a garden view room and it looked at the trees between the BC and Epcot. It wasn't shady in the section we were in. We could see the high fireworks from Illuminations. And we could hear the British group's music as clearly as if we were sitting in Epcot. Most of the garden view rooms are on this side of the resort.
