Great job on the new thread! I just returned from my visit to the Beach Club and booked a bounceback for November. Please add me to the Be Our Guest List for November 16-23, Yacht Club CL.![]()
After reading all of the information y'all have provided (THANK YOU!) we've decided to upgrade to a Garden View Club Level room! This will be the first CL stay for us, and we are all so excited!!!
It's great to see a new thread. We will be checking into BC in 4 days...I am so excited I can't contain myself
. Unfortunately before we leave my family will have to attend a wake/funeral for my uncle who passed away early yesterday morning. It's heartbreaking, not just because of who he was, but the fact that he was such a huge Disney fan himself. I will be thinking of him a lot while we are on our trip.
Hi everyone! We r eating lunch right now at hurricane Hanna's. Just FYI they scanning magic bands and putting on a paper band to get into and out of the pool.

Just wanted to drop in and say hi!We are going to be staying at Beach Club this October 31-Nov 6th...our first time! We are very excited! This is actually the first time we've stayed at a deluxe resort! (We've stayed in Villas before at Saratoga Springs, but never at a deluxe hotel!)
Thanks so much for all the awesome info in this thread. It has been really interesting to read.

Okay, so after falling too far behind, I'm all caught up on this thread.
Thanks for this thread!!! Can't wait to go in sept!
Hi
We're staying at BCV for the first time in January 2015 and we are so excited!!!
I've read a few things about a refurb but it all seems a bit vague, does anyone have any more info on this?
TigrLvsPooh already correctly answered your first question, so I'll take this one. Once you check in at BC, your Magic Band will no longer work for room entry at CSR. Your MB can only be attached to one room at a time, at least that is how it was 3 months ago. My inlaws did the exact same thing as you want to do and none of their MBs worked at resort #1 once my BIL ran over and checked into resort #2. At least they found this out while someone was still in room #1 and until they were out of the room completely, they just never locked the door or left someone in the room. Unfortunately that won't work for you if you're solo.
Morning! Can anyone make suggestions on room requests? It is our first stay at BC and we have garden view booked, can you request a balcony or corner room? Is there a list or map of which room are considered garden view? Thanks!
I was told the other day that while the BC rehab is going, when it is probably about three quarters done, they will do start the BCV too. Then after the BC is totally done, it will move to the YC.

If we have a pre-park opening breakfast at DHS, should we anticipate having to walk? Anyone know?
How do I get her a birthday button?? She would totally wear it.

Okay, so after falling too far behind, I'm all caught up on this thread. There are so many things to comment on from excited "Yays", to sad condolences, and back to some smiles and laughs but I'm not able to comment on each and every post that I'd like to. My family has been busy lately. My husband and I spent the week of May 3-9 down in Fort Myers, Florida with another couple. We've been friends with this couple forever (meaning since Kindergarten, for me) and had a great time going to the beach, doing some shopping and spending a couple of days in Key West. Given the loonnnng winter many of us on the boards have been enduring, it was amazing to have 6 straight days of glorious sunshine. (I totally get why Teena moved to Florida!) These are big times for our 17-year old son. Our time in Florida was his first major time at home alone and he did a fantastic job of responsibly taking care of himself and our dog. In even bigger news our extremely introverted, independent son shocked us this week by telling us he is going to his prom. He's never been anywhere near a school dance so we didn't see that one coming. After a few days of discussion on what to wear (noting that he should aim higher than his desire to just wear an old shirt and one of his dad's ties) we got him into a menswear store on Saturday where the clerk was able to convince him that wearing a proper suit was a good idea. So my son is growing up fast and I can't wait to see him all decked out in his new clothes. His long hair and current choice of shoes are still questionable but we have another weekend before prom where we could make some headway on those fronts. This is a holiday weekend celebrating "Victoria Day" in Canada. Officially we use this day to mark the Queen's birthday but in reality it marks the beginning of summer where people try to get outside, enjoy some beverages (which is why many call it the May 2-4 weekend, because there are 24 beers in a case) and end the day with some fireworks. We aren't campers and I'm not a beer drinker, but I did enjoy a glorious afternoon with a walk in the sun, followed by catching up on the Dis board with a margarita at my side. Now let's get this back on topic.... The next big thing in this house is to count down the next 90 days until we arrive at the Beach Club! We have our dining reservations in order and have spent some time this weekend discussion our Fast Pass desires. This trip will be our first adults only trip, with our son staying home alone again. It is so strange to travel without him. Our approach will be to hit a park in the mornings, enjoy the resort in the afternoon and then head out to a nice dinner with evening entertainment tbd. Here's our dining reservation list: [*]Aug 17 - flight arrives at 1:15 pm which gives us plenty of time to settle in before our 7:30 pm dinner at Narcoossees [*]Aug 18 - an early 3:50 pm reservation at San Angel to leave us lots of time to get back to the BC for the 6:30 pm meet up (so can't wait!) [*]Aug 19 - 8:30 am Keys to the Kingdom tour (that is going to be fun) and then back at Cape May for dinner at 6:35 pm [*]Aug 20 - 7:30 pm at Tokyo Dining [*]Aug 21 - our first time checking out the Dolphin with a reservation at Shula's at 6:45 pm [*]Aug 22 - We are heading over to the Grand Floridian Café at 1 pm because we loved our meal there on our last trip, and then we go collect pretzel rolls at the Biergarten at 7:30 pm. The trip is going to fly by so fast. I can't wait to eat at all these places, but we had at least as many choices that didn't make the list because we ran out of days. I definitely want to drop by the Captain's Grill for breakfast one day, and am happy to note that the Keys to the Kingdom tour has lunch at the Columbia Harbour House because we love that place. So much fun dining, so little time! And of course there will be stops around the world for pastries, caramel treats and beverages. When not at dinner we might be spotted at a France beverage cart or settled in at La Cava. (mmm) We will also look at checking out Jelly Rolls at some point (hoping that you don't need reservations.) I know I shouldn't wish the summer away, but I can't wait for the next 90 days to pass by!
I was told the other day that while the BC rehab is going, when it is probably about three quarters done, they will do start the BCV too. Then after the BC is totally done, it will move to the YC.
Was talking to the welcome greeter guy (sorry forgot his name) dressed in like a white captains suit about the refurb. Saying it was starting in October and everything ( lobby restaurants etc)was getting done. I asked when it would be likely to be completed but he couldn't say. We hope to go back when it's done. Saying that the rooms were nice the only thing that was old was the shower nozzle which was covered in rust. Mouse keeping was really good keeping room nice and clean..
We are here at the YC now and encountered this issue on Monday. We didn't see any boats and since I had developed a blister, we didn't want to walk that morning - its a nice walk but we didn't want to spend the steps. We took a cab and it was $10 with the tip.
We also had an 8 am breakfast at AK on Sunday, and I learned (from the front desk, bell desk and concierge) there is no longer a bus for early ADRs, and the bus doesn't begin to run until an hour before park opening. The last few years I have been here, at different resort hotels, there has always been a 6:30 bus. We drove to AK, but that's something to verify and keep in mind if you have early ADRs elsewhere.
Teena: Hoping to see you for our Thanksgiving trip this year!!! Have to wait until DD does her "traditions" for the college program (she arrives on August 4th!!!) to see if we will be able to get a discounted room at BC and or YC!! I hope BC is available for that. We may do a split stay with WL also!
She is so excited about the DCP, her dream (she has been chosen in merchandising) would be to work in the BC gift shop!!
Fingers crossed for DH, he loves staying at BC and visiting with you!!
P.S. Richard says hello, and he has to admit that the Magic Bands were pretty awesome....but he still hasn't made up his mind on the whole FP+ thing!!!
