Doing the happy dance.. I just paid off our trip.

(Well actually, I authorized the payment on my Disney Visa. But the money is in the bank, just sitting there, waiting for the bill.)

We're getting close!! Once school ends (for all 5 of us) it will really seem close!

Hey guys! I often just lurk but am actually posting out of sheer joy! Just got back last week from a stay at BWI and was able to book a bounce back at my dream resort, BC! We have always visited, but never stayed so I am beyond excited. We will be there Sept 22-29, 2014 and are booked for a lagoon/water view. :cloud9: Any advice about good room requests? It will just be DBF and I, so being close to SAB (are these rooms noisy, being so close to the pool?) isn't really necessary and I think we would probably prefer not to be on ground level, but other than that I am kind of lost.

We make full balcony our only request in hopes that it increases the chances of getting one. Since both pools at the BC are located between the resort and the lake, I think your chances of a lake view are pretty good. We like to be nearer to the Epcot end of the BC rather then the SAB end. There are more exit doors at the Epcot end. :)

If you bring the kids with you to the BC meet, it will delay their first day of school until you get back home - that means you can come to the meet and be at their first day of school!
That's a GREAT idea! Miss the first day of school, they would love it! :rotfl2:

Full balcony is the only request I made also. I am a true believer that the CMs work hard to grant as many requests as possible, but the fewer the requests, the better your chances.

MWA HA HA!! Another one bites the dust and joins us! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 This is gonna be so much FUN! ::yes::

Just so that everybody understands, EVERYONE IS INVITED TO DIS MEET IN THE SOLARIUM AT 6:30-ISH ON MONDAY AUGUST 18TH

So if you are going to be at the resort consider stopping by and saying hello. New friends and shy people are very welcome to join in on the fun!

Heh, heh, heh... you coming to the meet or do we have to twist your toe to get you to show up? Perhaps bribe you with a Sunken Treasure??

~NM

I am SOOOOO sulking that I don't arrive until the 19th

Finally got a moment to catch up on this thread.... really looking forward to our much needed August trip and meeting everyone at the Dismeet.

It is with a very heavy heart that I tell my YC/BC friends that my mother passed away quite unexpectedly on May 29th.

It has been an extremely hard week for us.

I needed this upcoming vacation in July, but now it seems even more so. I made the comment that I was so looking forward to sharing the pictures of my four year old niece with the princesses with my mother.........to which my older niece replied, "now she can go along with us."

My mother was 86 years old and very active up until the very end.

I'll probably be on the boards a lot more now. Our trip is getting closer and it will be a good distraction. Thanks for listening. I feel like I know many of you personally. (Some I really do!)

So sorry to hear about your mom's passing...prayers to you and your family. I know exactly how you feel as we lost my dad 4 weeks ago and it's been really hard. Sending along many :hug:.

After 5 trips to the World as a whole family, my husband and I are shipping our kids to summer camp and celebrating our 40th birthdays at the Yacht Club. I do have guilt about going without the kids, and they are working very hard to reinforce that guilt! :rotfl2: We've never stayed at the Yacht Club before, we've booked a Garden View room. Our dates are June 30-July 3. I've enjoyed this thread & if you have any suggestions for an adults-only trip, I'd love to hear them.
That's great! You will enjoy it in a different way with just your husband. We do that this past October for my 4Oth birthday and also celebrated out anniversary(14th). I felt guilty about not bringing the kids sometimes and often thought about how much they would have liked this or that..but at the same time it was sooo fun to be able to enjoy Disney on a more romantic level;) We splurged and stayed at the WL since it was just two not 5 of us and it was wonderful! Highly recommend for family of 4 or less. Too much money for a deluxe room or villa. We got up and headed to the parks in mornings and ride our favorites and then relaxed by the pool with drinks in the afternoons. Then had late evening dinners and enjoyed a little night time in the parks or downtown disney. Some mornings we just slept in and didn't worry about getting to the parks at opening. We just went with the flow. It helped me not miss my kids and worry so much because we were busy and really enjoying ourselves! Hope you have a wonderful trip!!:)

DH & I did this for the first time last October for F&W and we had the BEST time!! In fact, we loved it so much that we are planning another solo trip this coming October :).

As for the guilt...funny how kids can be. My girls laid it on real thick for months before we left and acted like we were the worst parents for leaving them behind (mind you, mine are older & should have known better ). I remember feeling so horrible the morning we left but believe me, once I arrived at the BC, all that magically disappeared :rotfl2:. Just being able to get up when we wanted and not having to account for anyone else, was wonderful. Oh, and poolside cocktails, aka sunken treasures, by noon everyday became our routine :drinking1

Don't even give it a second thought. You are going to have a FABULOUS time. Enjoy your birthdays!!!!

When were you there in October? My hubby and I were there Oct 27-Nov 2! My experience was similar with our kids but we are going to take them this November and staying at the BC for the first time so they are not deprived!haha I would totally do another couple trip with my husband! Would probably not get the dining plan next time so we could spend more time at the F&W festival! We spent more money on cocktails than anything! It was scary I just kept handing the bartender my wrist and didn't give it a second thought!....until our bill came!!LOL

Thanks for your replies...I know that once we get there, I will be a-okay & not guilty at all. Glad to know that we are not the only ones who have "tortured" our children this way. :goodvibes

I did online check in today and requested an upper floor, but I was hoping to see a place to request a king bed. Is that something I can request by calling?

That was so us the day we decided to do a "liquid" lunch at SAB :rolleyes1 We were there last year from 10/20-10/24 with no DP. Instead, we used our TIW card and it worked out great. Loved being able to stroll into F&W whenever we wanted as well...so can't wait to go back this year. Oh, and my girls are going with us on two of the three trips we have planned this year so they are FAR from being deprived as well :).

Guess where I'm sitting?!?!?!?!

In the CL lounge at BC!!!!!!!!

We are enjoying some yummy chips with dressing, Swedish fish and apples. They've added hummus and a yummy sparkling punch to the afternoon offerings.

Vilma checked us in and we received a room with a day bed after the first room assigned to us didn't have one.

We are off to SAB! Ta ta for now!

I am so jealous at least I will be there in 15 days and see Teena and Rocky . The weather is cooler today here and the main thing on my mind is to be sitting at SAB with a nice cool drink and catching the rays:beach: Have a wonderful time .

You will love BC:cool1: Full balcony request is my advice

Hello Everyone!!! Doing the happy dance because we just booked a YC CL stay for Nov. 29-12/6!!! :cool1:

I have stayed at the Beach Club twice before, and at the Boardwalk, but never at the Yacht Club, so I am very excited!

We are going to have 5 in our room, so we are "stuck" with Standard View. Has anyone else stayed Standard View Club Level at Yacht Club that has pictures of their view?
