We're kinda in the same boat...... since we have APs and moved about an hour's drive from WDW we've done several day trips, but we decided we need to stay at our favorite resort for a couple nights, and soon.

So...... we're headed to the YC next Friday for two nights. Got an AP rate on a GV CL room, so YC here we come!!!

Heh, heh, heh... you coming to the meet or do we have to twist your toe to get you to show up? Perhaps bribe you with a Sunken Treasure??

Here are my dates. One night only at YC June 9th (girls trip), Nov 9th-11th before moving to BWI for the rest of the week. Never did a split stay before, this should be interesting. We stayed at YC about 20 years ago and then not again until Oct for the TOT 10 miler. I forgot how great it was. DH and I came back for a quick trip in April and I am hooked!

So two trips? Both at YC?

June 9, 1 night, girls trip
Nov 9-11 then BWI

Here now at yacht club room in room 4143 king room......very nice room......had a wonderful time .......rode 7 dwarfs twice. Thought it was going to be sort of a kiddy ride but that thing has some zip to it.

We also did the Feel the force at Star Wars weekend......that was the best



One more.....did the Star Wars breakfast and that was fun also....

That is great! We were upgraded to the same suite last year. We couldn't believe it too. We didn't get to sleep in the master bedroom though because my daughter was scared since the other bedroom was so far away. Lol ... Enjoy!!!

OMG!!!!! The best upgrade ever!!!!! We were booked in a Deluxe CL room but we have been upgraded to the Newport Presidential Suite!!!! We can't believe our good fortune, we have never been upgraded!!!! This place is amazing. I have taken pictures and a couple of videos that I will post later, too excited to take time to post pictures now, we are still exploring and in shock!!!!!

Those of us in the cheap seats love to see how the other half lives...

6 days left.
This is our first trip to WDW since 2007 and the first time our twins get to fly. Oldest son was 3 so he doesn;t remember it either.
We made it though his graduation and party, we are almost through with school - and my teacher duty of organizing and running the school talent show with be over on Tuesday when we have our show.

This thread and posts have helped me so much. I can't wait until I get everyone one on the plane and can relax.

We just returned from a 7 night stay at BC. We really liked it - we were even lucky enough to be upgraded to club level, with an awesome full balcony and pool view (rm 5715). The pool was great, and the kids could have spent their whole vacation there if we let them. The offerings in club level were really nice, it might be hard to go back without it! (i say that, of course, not having paid for it...lol).
The only thing I'll say is that the cleanliness was leaving a little to be desired, which was a surprise to me in a Deluxe Disney resort (i've always had such great luck). Not the room itself, but the hallways....there were broken potato chips left in the same spot of the hall for 2 days, and little things like that. And some of those doors and casings are really beat up! It just detracts from the experience a little bit.
Overall, would return, if not for Stormalong Bay alone.

I agree with your assessment about the rooms and the hallways. The rooms were in good shape, but in the hallways, the carpeting was faded and seemed to have some bleach spots or other staining. Some of the furniture in the hallways was in rough shape too. This was up on club level, where the renovations will start. Someday...

Well, even though we had cancelled our trip originally (after moving to the Poly) due to adding on a master suite to our house, we are back on for August 30-September 3 at the Yacht Club. DH isn't too happy about it but since the kids and I has such a miserable trip with my mom in May (she hated everything and wasn't afraid to share her feelings, ugh) he agreed to let me have a do-over trip since I spent most of the last one either angry or crying. This one HAS to be better. LOL!

Do-over trips are great. Our first stay at the BC was a do-over from a stay at All Star Music during Tropical Storm Faye, with my son suffering from dehydration for much of the trip.

The Epcot resorts don't have buses to the Epcot bus depot. So how do Epcot resort guests get to Typhoon Lagoon?

I haven't had any time to go over and read on the Theme Club forum or Transportation forum. Any additional news for EPCOT resort transportation to TL?

Hello! We are staying at BC the week of September 14. We currently have a garden view room. DH wanted to know what it would cost to upgrade to a Lagoon View room but when I called they are all sold out! Looks like all rooms are sold out except some Standard Views. How crowded is SAB when the hotel is a nearly sold out? And the buses...Thanks!

I've been there when the resort was sold out. The pool was fine in the afternoon. It was hard, but not impossible to find a lounger. Probably impossible to find 2 together, but I just need one for our towels and bags and sandals while in the water.

I haven't had an issue with the buses- I generally go to the early EMH, so I am at the bus stop at 7:30 am. I think once we did have to take a second bus to the MK because one was full, but the second bus was right behind.

We'll see you at SAB! I didn't add my name to BOG but we'll be there June 26-July 2 Magic Bands just came in the mail yesterday.. BEST... PACKAGE... EVER!!!!

We have a GV room booked at the Yacht Club in July. Do we need to or should we do online check in? I added some preferences to our reservation already, a higher floor and a room on the lagoon/ courtyard side if possible. We arrive in the evening.

The online checkin will save you a little bit of time since you will already have provided your credit card info for charging to the room.

We aren't going until September 2015, but we have been looking at the pricing for this year and going back and forth about resorts. We really love BC Club Level but were also looking at the DDP. You all have helped me, it is a lot of food and we really don't eat TS meals that often. I think I am doing Club level and no dining, saves me about $1000

We went without the dining plan for our short trip in July, ate what we wanted and saved $$$ over the dining plan. I made a spreadsheet before to estimate costs and confirmed when we returned home.

I also plan on making an appearance or two in the lobby wearing my new "Teena the Greeter outfit" that JanetMom has promised to sew for me if I leave her and Steve alone. (PS Janet, Buzzy says he would like an outfit too if you do small sizes... i.e. REALLY small)

Oops! Look at the time! I have to get off the computer and go now. It's going to take me forever to convert Buzzy's measurements from sixteenth's of an inch to millimeters. Darn those Canadians and their insistence on something as sensible as the metric system!

Just back from our first stay at the BC, it's our new favorite resort! We loved it, super friendly cast members always willing to help! Clean and no problems we booked a standard room and it was perfect. Close to everything with a full balcony, just loved it. Location is PERFECT so close to Epcot and the walk to Hollywood Studios is lovely! We had a graduation party with family who also booked there, we used the solarium and it was beautiful. They delivered her cake complete with real plates and utensils and real napkins (not paper). We did her Senior pictures there as well and Daniel was terrific!!! A wonderful trip, I don't think I want to wait a year between visits!

So glad you had a great trip! I'm happy to hear the graduation party in the Solarium worked out.

3 more days!!!!!!!!! ADRs made, FP+ scheduled, online checkin done.

Sorry but I'm super excited and need to shout it out to folks who would understand my joy.

DH is "Whatever. I hate crowds but am going because you planned it all. Just tell me where to go and what time." (I exaggerate. He's not that bad but he's been sick making him grumpy)

DD17 is "I will get excited when we get there. Right now I have to get through finals, worry about the SAT & AP scores, and be sad about leaving my boyfriend for a week."

DS11 is excited but he still thinks this is just like Disneyland.

So on Saturday me (and 3 others who might or might not be excited) will be joyfully checking into the BC.

After 5 trips to the World as a whole family, my husband and I are shipping our kids to summer camp and celebrating our 40th birthdays at the Yacht Club. I do have guilt about going without the kids, and they are working very hard to reinforce that guilt!

We've never stayed at the Yacht Club before, we've booked a Garden View room. Our dates are June 30-July 3.

I've enjoyed this thread & if you have any suggestions for an adults-only trip, I'd love to hear them.

1) Had an awesome field trip to the beach for tidepooling with Ben on Monday

2) I have been working for the past couple of weeks helping to put together all the details for our school's upcoming 8th grade class trip to Disney. Had to create 9 different group accounts, link all the tickets and make FP+ reservations for more than 120 people. I will not be going on the trip this year, but will be accompanying Ben when he goes next June.

3) My neighborhood was in lockdown/shelter-in-place last night due to an armed man who stole a police cruiser, rammed it into other cars and then escaped. This happened a couple of miles from where I live. Fortunately, he was captured at 9 last night, with no injuries to anyone.

So clearly the answer to this is that you sell your coop soon so that you get that move over with well in advance of the meet! We will all start sending prospective buyers to your neighbourhood so keep your door open and your coop clean.

Dee, I was watching this on the news last night. I'm not far from you. So scary! You never know what can escalate into something horrible these days....

YCFAN, I'm so sorry about your Mom. I have to tell you that a few years ago my family had a tragedy of sorts, and I packed up my husband and kids and went to Walt Disney World. Some people thought we were crazy, or insensitive and didn't understand how we could possibly enjoy ourselves. It ended up being the best trip we have ever taken. It was special to be together and away for a little while in a place that makes you just feel good for a change! My thoughts are with you.

Hey guys! I often just lurk but am actually posting out of sheer joy! Just got back last week from a stay at BWI and was able to book a bounce back at my dream resort, BC! We have always visited, but never stayed so I am beyond excited. We will be there Sept 22-29, 2014 and are booked for a lagoon/water view. Any advice about good room requests? It will just be DBF and I, so being close to SAB (are these rooms noisy, being so close to the pool?) isn't really necessary and I think we would probably prefer not to be on ground level, but other than that I am kind of lost.
