Does anyone know when the club level lounge will be in it's original location?
Does anyone know when the club level lounge will be in it's original location?
I had the same question about the lounge. Anyone know when it will be done and how much bigger it will be? Will it be in the same area???
Just left the BC. It was nice, but not great. The club lounge is now in the Presidential suite. Very cramped, no nice coffee machine. There is a new pool policy. You cannot use the lockers or showers at the fitness center. That area is reserved for those who are getting spa treatments. We were told to use the lobby restrooms. We booked a room for 5, but got a room with only 2.queens. they put a rollaway in that completely blocked the balcony door.
Stirmalong bay was great, but the only hot tub that was working was by the kiddie pool. Overall, I was very disappointed.
how expansive is the refurb? This is the first I've heard of it. Is it as big as the poly refurb?I'm getting pretty nervous about construction at BC. I'll be there from 12/5-12/10/14. How does this usually work? Will the hotel be a mess and nightmare? Even though I have a RO discount, this is still an expensive trip. Also, we don't get to go to Disney that often. This is only our 2nd trip. I really don't want to change resorts, but would I be better going to BWI or AoA suite? Why doesn't the Disney website say that the resort will be under construction? Thank you![]()

BREAKING NEWS!!!
WE HAVE JUST LEARNED THAT THE RENOVATION TO THE BEACH CLUB LOUNGE WILL BE STARTING ON MONDAY AUGUST 4. WHILE THE WORK IS BEING DONE, THE PRESIDENTIAL SUITE WILL SERVE AS THE LOCATION OF THE LOUNGE FOR ANYONE STAYING CLUB LEVEL.
Beach Club Renovation:
About every five years the halls and rooms of EVERY resort at WDW get renovated. There are two types. Soft goods and hard goods. Last time the Beach and Yacht Clubs underwent renovation (2008/2009) it was a soft goods rehab.
Renovations on the outside (painting, siding, roofing and all maintenance) are done as needed.
The upcoming refurb will be a hard goods renovation. Rooms will be stripped down everything from new sinks, new air conditioning units, new everything pretty much except the TVs are probably staying since they are fairly new.
The work will start with the renovation and expansion of the Club Level lounge. While the work is being done, club level offerings will be available in the Presidential Suite. After the lounge is completed, work will move onto the actual rooms on the 5th floor. Then, the work will continue on other rooms, floor by floor, until they have all been renovated.
We do not have a timetable about how long it will take to complete each section of the resort.
As of this time, we don't know when the work on the lounge will be completed or when the rooms wills be started. Guests with club level reservations in October were contacted in mid-March were given the option of either moving to a non-CL room at the Beach Club or relocating to the YC CL. Based on this information, there is a good chance that the work on the lounge will starting in late summer/early fall.
In May, a guest who will be staying at BC CL at the end of September (9/20 to 9/27) emailed the IPO to ask when the BCR refurb would be taking place. Here is the response received from a Yacht & Beach Concierge Itinerary Planner:
"At this time the Beach Club Lounge will be under refurbishment while you are staying with us. The lounge during that time will be in an alternate location on the 5th floor. Please let us know if there is anything else we may assist you with."
The work will be completed with the least amount of disruption possible to guests. Sections of rooms will be taken out of service while the renovations are taking place. All noise work is done between 9AM and 5PM (when people are at the pool or at the parks). Chances are guest won't really see the areas where work is happening.
We have been told that when the Beach Club renovation is about 75% complete, work will start on the Beach Club Villas. We are not sure what kind of renovations will happen there yet. After the BC renovation is complete, work on the Yacht Club will begin. We have also recently learned that the BC lobby will probably also be part of the refurbishment process. Presumably after the rooms are done, but I am only speculating about that!
As we receive more definitive information, we will post it here.

Haven't heard anyone say anything about it.

I am so sorry to hear that your stay was disappointing![]()
The new pool policy/locker situation has been discussed here and frankly, I think it is ridiculous that the CMs at the spa are able to restrict the use of the locker room and showers in the health club.
I am also sorry that the situation with the rollaway made your room uncomfortable.
So what was in the lounge for coffee? Do you happen to know if the lounge remains open 24/7 except during restocking?
Thanks!

this is my thought as wellI am kind of thinking that club level may not be worth it for this visit due to the refurb...any thoughts?
Not too thrilled with the report about the lack of space in the temporary lounge in the Presidential Suite - after having several stays at the BC CL, can't quite imagine the lounge could get any more cramped than it already is! I, for one, am just looking forward to getting a sneak peak at the suite when we arrive in JUST 12 DAYS!!!!
Another question: Are the Club Level CM's still located just off of the elevator? So convenient having them there, wondering if they have been moved elsewhere as well....
Teena - completely bummed to be missing you this trip, we arrive and depart while you are away. Originally we were scheduled to be there for the DIS meet, but had to push our dates back a few days.....however, we will be back in March, so no cruises for you that week!![]()
