So, my faithful and wonderful friends on this thread, I have made the adult decision to cancel my Disney vacation this year. I have too many things that I need to pay for and it just doesn't make any logical sense to TRY and make things work. DH was still wanting to try and do it because of the kids. The economy is even hurting my DH business and times are not as plentiful as they were a couple of years ago. I'm going to remake my ticker for next year, though!!! My oldest DD will be graduating and that would make a great graduation trip. Maybe I'll plan on staying in a Deluxe Resort, I'll have plenty of time to start saving. I plan on doing a smaller vacation this summer. Gotta take the kids somewhere.
Thank you for following along, and you can bet that I'll start another PTR in the fall. I will DEFINATELY be following along on all of your adventures this summer. I've got to keep the dream alive!!!

What kind of smaller vacation do you have in mind?

I do hope you'll keep hanging around all of our trip reports. If you don't, we'd lose the only members of our group that have had a close encounter with a shark. I don't think any of the rest of us have done that anyway.

I don't know if it'll help or hurt even more, but if you think it would help you can make some picture requests. I can try to get them for you this summer, and you can use them as your focus for what you have to look forward to. Just think about it and let me know.

You guys can come here and stay at the Disney resort on the Island! Still a touch of Disney and the beach without all of the Disney price! You could keep this PTR going until next year! Each week we can discuss the different resort - I'm sure between all of us we'll find enough to keep things going for a year!!

If it were just medical bills I wouldn't be so worried. You'll always have medical bills, that's my opinion anyway. Go and have a good time!!! I'm excited to read your TR!

Oh I would love some pictures!! I definately would like some of the new make your own T-shirt store in DTD and some dog accessories. That's the only extra. Other than those, you do a fantastic job of taking pictures of other things. I so enjoy looking at your photos!!! OH, and I'm not going ANYWHERE!!! The DIS is what keeps my dream alive. Plus, I want to see Bella and big sis Brooklyn on their summer trip! As far as a small vacation, we are going to Wisconsin for my nieces wedding reception and thinking about hitting Six Flags, in Chicago, on the way. Maybe some outlet malls in Wisconsin Dells and then maybe a long weekend in Canada. We're only an hour from the border and have never been there.

It's no fun being the grown up at all! I personally don't like to be either! Don't start thinking like that. You're going next year lady whether you like it or not! Just figure out what your dream trip will cost and figure out when you're going. Then, divide your cost by the number of weeks until your trip (or until you'd have to pay the trip off with Disney) and that's how much to save each week. Being a year out, hopefully the number's not too big and you'll be able to do it!! (by the way, I'm no math teacher so I hope that's right....sounds right in my head! ) It never hurts to plan!! I can't wait for the resort talk!

Dan has no clue at this point. I love it! If I can pull this off it will be great! I love pulling surprises off for other people. Personally I HATE surprises - I have to be in control. I don't like not knowing what's going to happen. BUT I do love planning and making lists so poor Dan's in for a life of surprises!

BUT a deluxe next summer will be so cool! Might I suggest the Poly? We only had a weekend there and it was the trip of a lifetime. Just think what you could do with a whole year to plan!!!

It has been hard and there are moments when I'm trying to think of a mini trip, but then reality hits and I know I can't do it. I DO have a whole year to plan and actually I'm pretty excited about it. I'm working now, so hopefully it'll be easier to have some extra $$. I'm not leaving the DIS! It's what keeps me going!

Things are going. I'm working almost 40 hours this week, and for a part-time job, that's a lot of hours. Especially since it's been over a month since I worked. I'm gathering info on the Delux resorts that will fit our family. Stay tuned for some needed advice and opinions!
