There are no sharks at WDW, so let's go!!!

Signing on and looking forward to hearing more about your plans.

You're right... no sharks at WDW... but watch out for gators in the lakes/ponds. ;)

Hopefully you're able to laugh somewhat about that... I'm assuming so given your PTR title. I can't believe that happened to you! :scared1:

Thank goodness everything turned out ok. Looking forward to hearing about your trip! :goodvibes

LOL!!! I looooooove that movie! I went through a stage after we got married when Chad asked what I wanted to watch. It was always a vacation movie! I could watch those over and over again!
We would definately get along great!!!!

When we first got married we were YOUNG, like 19 and 20 young, and had NO money. We would watch Die Hard on VHS, and eat popcorn (cooked in a pan) and Kool Aid. :thumbsup2

Welcome aboard!!! :welcome: I'm happy that you're here and want to read about me and my family. We laugh about the shark thing because we can't believe that it happened. Everything turned out o.k. and we are VERY blessed. Now, this time last year, I might have had a different outlook. I was very tired. He couldn't drive for 6 weeks after we got back, then he had several surgeries, a botched wound vac that ruined the nerve graft surgery and then in the hospital with the MRSA staph infection. Whew!!!
Yeah, no ponds for me, or lakes for that mater. I don't like to swim in anything that I can't see to the bottom. :scared:

Hi!
Just a quick HI!
You are getting lots of readers:thumbsup2
I sorry about the breakin of your car. hope that everthing can be fixed.
Hope you have a better day on Wed.
Talk soon

When we first got married we were YOUNG, like 19 and 20 young, and had NO money. We would watch Die Hard on VHS, and eat popcorn (cooked in a pan) and Kool Aid. :thumbsup2 We always joke around here about the Jelly of the Month club. Each year my DH firm gives a Christmas bonus, but you never know how much it is going to be. We always wait for that Jelly Club notice instead of the cash. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Awwww!! But, that sounds fun though!!!!
Yeah, I would not be happy with the jelly of the month club!! There is this lady I work with that every year at Christmas, her husband wears a black dicky under a too tight white sweater to be like Cousin Eddie! It is so funny!!

I love the part where he is, ahem, emptying his camper in the drain!!! Oh my gosh!! Gets me every time!!!:rotfl2:

Just checking back in to say hi! :goodvibes

Oh, and WE LEAVE FOR DISNEY NEXT FRIDAY!

YAY!

Alright...back to you Lisa :goodvibes

Hey Lisa! :wave2: I just noticed you had started a PTR while I was reading punkin's PTR. Wow! I can't believe your DH was bit by a shark! So glad he was okay!! I'm sure that was horrifying for you!

For TS meals, I would definitely recommend 'Ohana and LeCellier!!!! They are wonderful!!!

I love the Chevy Chase Christmas movie too, it is my favorite!! :)

Looking forward to reading all about your trip. popcorn::

Sorry you had those experiences. I didn't think about them braking into my house until this morning. If they took the time to look through my glove box, which it didn't look like they did, then of course all of my insurance info with name and address is in there. :scared1: I think breaking into a house would be worse than the stupid radio.
We are football supporters. We only missed one game this season. My son played freshman ball and then dressed for JV and Varsity ball for a couple of games. Just my 9 year old is a cheerleader. She does competitive cheer, stunt, hip hop and pom pom. It's a newer gym with only about 16 girls, but they all love each other and are great friends. Do you guys have cheerleading in England?? (I know that was probably a stupid question, but you never know) Like I read one of your posts on another thread that you don't have baby showers? See, it's different. ;)

Yes it was not nice having our house broken in to. And it was on my birthday, some birthday surprise that was :sad1:

No we don't generally have Cheerleading. More recently a few individual cheer squads have started but they are very few and nothing like the American ones. There much more dance based than gymnastic based from what I can tell :confused3. And they don't generally compete.
And no we don't have baby showers, bridal showers, christmas parades... all the fun things basically. England sucks

:dance3: Welcome!! Thanks for coming over. And yes, it was VERY traumatic. It was so surreal. You have one in 11 MILLION chances of getting bit by a shark, or you are 3 TIMES more likely to get struck by lightning. Hmmm...
I keep thinking of 'Ohana's too. I'm not sure about LeCellier. Not sure if two of my kids would like it. But, maybe DH and I could have a date there??? Thanks for the suggestions. It's definately worth looking into.

That's so funny that you said that England sucks, because I have always wanted to live and visit there. I guess that the grass is always greener huh? I also figured that "showers" weren't just an American thing. You have cool things in Enland that we don't have here. Like, your ACCENT, the Palace and its guards, Double Decker buses, and LOADS of castles and history. Now, I wouldn't like that I couldn't have HOT weather in the summer, and a lot of rain, but you do have access to A LOT of different countries. What do we have, Canada and Mexico.;) See, look for the positives.

See I would love to have easy access to Canada and Mexico, they are 2 countries I am desperate to visit. And then there is the whole rest of the US, there are so many places there that I want to visit, I could go to a different place every weekend for a year and still not of visited even half of what I want to see. And then your also close to the Caribbean and South America. Sure we are close to Europe over here but I much prefer going a little further, I could do without visiting Europe really. The palace and guards and double decker buses are quite cool but living close to London we visit a lot so I could live without it for a while. I would prefer to swap it for Disney World any day :confused3

It's so funny to see how the other side thinks. There are a lot of places in the US that I haven't been too. And I suppose when you live in or near London, it's just a normal everyday thing to see all of that stuff. Kinda like when I lived in Hawaii. We would go to the beach most weekends and I could ride my bike to one of them. But, it was like no big deal when I lived there. I still had to go to school and my parents still had to go to work. Plus, I live in Northwest Ohio, not the most beautiful place in the United States. ;) I like to talk to you about England and your traditions. It's very informative to me. I hope I don't ever ask the most ridiculous questions!!! Like what language do you speak?:rotfl2: DUH!! We have a girl in cheerleading that is Russian, and is fluent in Russian, the little girls were asking her to say their name in Russian. Too cute!! Hope you have a good day and btw, I think your cats are TOO CUTE! I saw some pics in your PTR.

Hey! The title is an eye catches...had to sneak in to take a peak. Now I'm subbing ;)

That episode with the shark makes a great story, but scary.

You may want to remind DH that there ARE sharks in DW...I can't rememberr their names, but from Finding Nemo. I don't know if I've ever seen charactors of them (I think if they had them, but they are a hoot). Tell dh not to worry though, they are working at becoming vegatarians. :rotfl:

Your trip sounds wonderful so far...love the descriptions of your family. I can tell they will be a hoot. It makes me miss the trips to DW with my family.

Now my parents are 'retired' (' ' because they are busier in FL during the winter months than during the summer back in Iowa ) during the winter in FL and my brother and sister are both married, so they have their own families.

Luckily now, I recently got my new family. Got married about a month ago. I'm planning our honeymoon for my dh in about a month. He has never been. I am so excited!

Looking forward to your plans :)

Wow Lisa you've gotten quite the following! :goodvibes

Hope you're having a great day!

Yes I know what you mean. When I was younger I went to London like once or twice until I was at University. Then Nick took me a few times and it was so amazing, I loved it. Now we live near there and can just jump on the train any time we like and be there in 40 minutes, so a lot of the charm has worn off. Saying that I still love visiting there, especially around Christmas when its so festive and all the lights are up. And in the Summer when we can have picnics in the lovely parks and walk along the river. I also love going to watch shows there, and going for dinner at Hard Rock or Rainforest Cafe (not Planet Hollywood though, its disgusting here). And there is so many things to see and do there, we are slowly working our way through the list. Oh and I love taking people there who haven't been before or haven't visited for ages, its great to show them the sites and see their reactions.

I don't mind answering your questions at all. I am the same I have so many questions about the US, some to do with advice and information for vacations but quite a lot of the time its just because I am so interested in America and American life, thats why I love these boards :lovestruc

Wow Lisa you've gotten quite the following! :goodvibes

Hope you're having a great day!

I am having a fantastic day. Nothing bad has happened...yet. :rotfl: We are hosting the basketball team dinner tonight. So, 11 boys and some coaches/coach here in my little house eating sloppy joes. I'm trying to party clean, but you can see how well that's going. Just resting my feet right now.
Hope your day is going well too!!!!

11 boys in your house, good luck with that. What are sloppy Joes?

Sloppy joes are what some people call BBQ's. Are you familiar? It's browned hamberger (that doesn't look spelled right  ), chopped onion and green peppers, ketchup, mustard and brown sugar, all to taste. Cook it up in a big pot and you eat it on hamb. buns. YUMMY!!! They ate all of it! I think one boy had 4, plus chips and baked beans. Of course we had Oreos for dessert. It was fun seeing them interact with each other. I also found out that almost 5 pounds of hamb. (like how I abbreviate and then I don't have to spell it wrong?:rotfl: ) is almost NOT enough to feed a basketball team.

No I'm not familiar, and haven't heard if BBQ's either. Well obviously I have heard of BBQ but not in that respect :confused3. I think I like the sound of it... when you say browned hamburger do you mean like a normal cooked burger or just the beef meat itself? I can imagine how much food they would eat if given the chance... they are growing boys, and the sporting variety too :lmao:

Ground beef, like that you would put into spaghetti. You would like the taste of it.
