TheNeverEndingPTR! Sept2010...no, November...WAIT! January?Ugh. maybe September 2011!

Yep Pam, they changed and I feel so bad for the people at the beginning of September who made ADR's and plans based around going to MNSSHP on the 3rd and the 8th...they changed that as well and now it looks like the first party won't be until the 14th. I would be so upset if that happened to me!

Shew! Just got done with my run and I'm considering doing week 3 again, I'm afraid I can't do week 4! Are any of my readers doing Couch to 5K, maybe you can relate. You can find the info on it here:
Couch to 5K

C25K builds up your running by running you in intervals with walking. The first week is running a minute then walking a minute, etc. and this week I completed the 3rd week which is run 1 1/2 min/walk 1 1/2 min, run 3 min/walk 3 min...and then repeat. Well, the first 1 1/2 min I'm good but the 1st 3 min run I'm DYING. I have to push myself to make it, my lungs are burning and my legs feel like jello. THEN, something amazing happens. The 2nd 1 1/2 min run is easier and then the 2nd 3 min run is easier...in fact, I was shocked when I just kept running today right past the 3 min mark! I ran 5 minutes straight. It was like my lungs opened up and I just kept going.

So, I'm not sure though how to get through that first 5 minutes or so when it's really hard and I feel like I'm going to pass out. I'm guessing it just gets easier, I vaguely remember from the last time I did C25K, but it was quite a few years ago. Any other runners have this issue??? I feel great and I'm really excited! I'm a RUNNER!!! :goodvibes

On the Disney-front, Rey asked me when I needed the final payment for the trip in Sept. and when I told him 4 months, he seemed pretty positive that he would find a way to get us the money for the trip. I'm still cautious b/c I just had a garage sale yesterday for grocery money, so Disney trip money seems almost impossible at this point!

But, he's moving to a new company and should be paid really well, so maybe he's right and we will get all caught up and have some extra for the trip. :goodvibes

Well, first off, I hope everything works out for the trip!!!!

And I went to check on the park hours and it doesn't seem like anything changed for my week. They are still showing the MK closing at 7pm on tuesday the 21st which is when i'm planning the Halloween Party. I do feel bad for the people at the beginning of the month as well and for anyone who made ADRS and now has to change them.

Woot! 5 minutes!! That's awesome! :worship:

I'm so happy that Rey is thinking positively and that it looks like everything is going to work out. :woohoo::dance3:

Hey Karen! Guess what? I took the plunge and bought a camera - just did a big update (with pictures!) on my PTR. Now I just need to learn how to use it.

Wow, so they changed your hours? I guess I need to go check and see if mine are changed. I'm glad you found a way to adjust without having to invest in hoppers. I'd like to avoid that myself.

Interesting you mentioned the C25K program. Do you read All7ofUs's PTR? She's been doing the program and it had gotten me interested. I'm not much of a runner because I have asthma, but I've always wanted to. Any kind of cardio is hard for me, but maybe if I built up to it like that I'd be able to do it. Hmm, something to consider.

I've read her PTR before, but couldn't keep up so I haven't read in a while! :p I'm not good at cardio either, but C25K keeps that in mind, that is why they start you out slow. I thought I would die and not be able to breathe running 1 minute my first week and yet yesterday on my 3rd week I ran 5 min! If you keep doing it, your lungs get stronger very quickly and you just get better and better.

Oh but I'm stiff this morning! Shew! It's a rest day for me, but I'll be walking with Hope, that will loosen up these muscles a bit! Today is Movie Day! We're doing Mulan. :)

Today's movie day was Mulan! They even watched the movie! I'm shocked.

We were at Hope's house today and she went all out and did most of the work b/c I was out of printer paper (and ink). Hope went to the local Chinese place and got all kinds of goodies for our movie day, it was perfect! She had printout crafts for the kids to make as well. I whipped up some more paper lanterns and presto!

She even made these adorable paper boxes that look like chinese takeout!

We had oriental ramen noodles and veggie egg rolls. They must have looked good (I KNOW they tasted good! LOL) b/c Savannah even tried them. She didn't like them, but at least she tried!

Then the chopstick fun began! I have so many cute pics of them eating their ramens with chopsticks!

She even got the kids each a fortune cookie! Hope ROCKS! :thumbsup2

THEN...wait for it...THEN...they watched the movie!!! *faints*. I know, unbelievable, right? ;) What's funny is that right near the end I had a client call last minute and we had to LEAVE before the movie was over! At least they watched most of it, that's more than I can say for most of our "movie" days! :p

Next week is Toy Story!! :goodvibes

This is NOT working for me. We can't do movie days because of a scheduling problem as you well know. You have to stop doing such fun things (I love egg rolls) and besides you needed us - Bella and I are expert 'chopstickers' and could have given the girls pointers.

<insert large cranky sigh here>

And you know, Kare, that Rey can have his seat back at any time. So don't feel badly if he can find the time and the money to go with you and the kiddos. We won't mind a teeny bit. :cool2:

Bella and I don't have to go when you go. We've been invited to go with some fun people in October <one of those fun people has long curly red hair and will be four years old by then> though frankly you know we'd rather go in December for all the holiday fun and frolic. <insert HO HO HO here>

MA- summer is coming quickly and schedules will all be opening up soon. :goodvibes

And Karen, you're to nice giving me all the credit considering you brought all the food! :thumbsup2

Are you sure YOU want to come? You can't pass up going with your wee girls though, if you want to cancel just let me know and we'll try to get a regular room. Rey won't come, he's made it really clear that even if the new job brings in oodles of money, he wants to save a large amount before he feels comfortable taking a vacation. He doesn't want this to ever happen again, it's been hard.

As for our movie days, we're already planning the ones that you can attend, have no fear! Tie dye, Toy Story 3 at the theater, Kim Possible scavenger hunt...we've got ya covered! Don't make any plans on Monday for this summer! ;)

Great movie night!! It looks so pretty!!! My kids love trying to eat with chopsticks!

Can't wait to see Toy Story night next week. That is one of my favorite disney movies.

So, I looked into it a bit more, and I think I want to try this program! I downloaded some podcasts to walk/run to. I plan to start next week - this week I'm walking everyday to sort of work up to it.

Loved your Mulan theme day! I think I just might do something like that! Did the Chinese restaurant just give Hope all that stuff?

No, I bet she had to pay a little for it! She did say that they were confused as to why she wanted it b/c she didn't want "take out" and she ended up telling them it was for a school project. :p

I'm so glad you are looking into C25K! I used a podcast today for the first time and I LOVED it! No more looking at the watch, trying to find the 2nd hand as I'm bouncing all over the place. I did realize that you still have to pay attention to what you are doing b/c I thought I was doing a cool-down walk at the end and it had finished and was just playing a song on my sons mp3 player! It doesn't tell you when it's over! It does make a beeping noise to notify you when to stop running or walking, but you still have to KNOW if you are supposed to be walking or running at that interval. Worked great for me and the techno/dance music had a great beat for running. :cool1:

They did give me the chopsticks and placemats since I only needed three but I had to buy the fortune cookies. :goodvibes

Great movie night!! Your and Hope's movie days are so creative. I am starting the C25K next week--gulp! I have not consistently worked out in such a long time (before DD--horrible I know) that I figure it would be a great way to get back into running.

Thanks for being an inspiration!! :goodvibes

I'm so excited for you! We will have to keep each other in check in our PTR's! I'm finishing up week 4 tomorrow and I really am floored (even though I've done C25K before) at how quickly I've built myself up. I really struggled to run a minute the first week and yesterday when I ran 5 minutes, I was shocked when my podcast told me the 5 minutes was up and I was still running! It's really exciting for me, I'm not the athletic type. You'll do great! Try looking for some podcasts that give you a chime or notification of when to start walking/running. It helps a lot and makes it more fun. The first few weeks I was watching a watch and it was harder and more annoying to keep checking to see if I had gone far enough.
