Y'know, it's really just a farce, calling what we do "movie day".
Once again there was no movie watched even though Savannah had BEGGED for this movie?!?!? I guess playing with Kya was higher on her priority list.
Toy Story was a family favorite for YEARS when it first came out. My boys (now going on 15 & 16) LOVED everything about it. Dallas had Buzz action figures, little green army men, tshirts, cups, sheets...I could go on and on. I remember we watched it over and over for about 6 months straight when we got it on VHS.
But alas, my boys grew up *sniff* (I suspect TS3 will hit home hard for me when it comes out this summer) and Mr. Potato head was replaced by an XBOX 360, and Buzz was given away and replaced with a computer. My boys grew up. I don't even know if Savannah remembered much from the movie as they had started to grow out of it by the time she was old enough to remember.
BUT, as always, Hope came to the rescue and arrived with sandbox toys, rockin' printouts, and I snapped a couple pics. We had pizza, which the girls promptly ate and then disappeared for the remainder of the afternoon.
I can't blame them, I was off in my little world of chatter as well, rambling on to Hope in endless streams. It was all in the spirit of Toy Story though. Wasn't the main theme friendship? I think so, and today we all spent time chatting and playing with friends, and that's what it's all about.
Have no fear! Not sure about next week, but in 2 weeks we are doing Mexico/3 Cabanero's/and I'm SURE there will be some margarita's for a mama's, so that should produce some fun shots!
Our table today:
The amazing printout/activites that Hope did (and that I'm SURE the girls will do at some point!)
Oh and no worries, there will be more Toy Story to come, we plan on going to the ACTUAL movie when TS3 is released, as one of our Monday "movie days". Hey, that means we'll actually SEE a movie!
