What a colorful day! I hope the nice weather has been refreshing for you. And I agree - your pictures are always better than you give yourself credit for.

Thanks everyone, I don't know that I'll ever get to a point that I really look at my shots and love them, I just have a critical eye now for all photos. I hope I get over it b/c sometimes you just want to enjoy a photo for the content, not all the technical stuff that goes along with it. I'm a work in progress!

Fall Promotion to be released...

Ok--I just got off the phone with Disney. I was told that Disney never releases their deals on the weekend (which is when the current offers are set to expire). She told me to check Disney's website first thing tomorrow or first thing Monday morning. Of course, she did not indicate if or what the promo would be but if they were to release something new for the fall, it would be tomorrow or Monday. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's FD!!! She said that normally they've already heard something by now, but not this time.

Thanks Ladies! I'm hoping they release this weekend or Monday for all of you. We already have the free QSDP pin and unless something drastic changes, I don't think we'll do the DDP, even if it's offered free. The QSDP gives so many more snacks and has the mugs included and for this trip I think it will work better. It just seems like more flexibility, less waiting around for ADR's. We'll see!

I've been in a Disney funk. Financially, things really couldn't be much worse (knocking on wood as I say this) and luckily I have wonderful family and friends that have helped enough to keep us afloat. I can't predict what will happen in 6 months, but it would have to be a pretty huge turnaround for this trip to still happen. I'll still make the couple OOP ADRs that we want and I'm still hoping for the best! The kids know that we might not go, so they won't be crushed, I'll just be disappointed that we can't go when Hope is going, the girls are so excited about it!

Rey's going to switch companies, we've probably waited too long as it is, but we were hoping things would pick up. They haven't, so he'll leave the company he has been at for 4 1/2 years. Luckily, it's not that big of a deal as an Owner Operator to lease on as an independent contractor to another company. Maybe things will turn around for the better!

We'll celebrate our 180 mark on Monday! We are doing Pirates of the Caribbean movie day after getting up at the crack of dawn to make those ADR's! Somehow I doubt Tusker House and RFC will be booked up, so I'm not too stressed about it!

I'm knocking on wood, crossing my fingers, sending good vibes, and anything else I can think of for this move to a new company to be the thing that helps you guys. I'm glad you haven't given up- even if it's just a glimmer of hope sometimes that's what we need.

I'm working on treasure maps today!! I'm going to the store today or tomorrow and hopefully I'll be able to find chocolate coins. This is going to be fun!!

Yep...and I'm lucky, I have LOTS of HOPE in my life! Yay for pirate maps! I'll try to find the disney dollars to print. Should we just do 1$ or a 5$ for each of them thrown in there too? Guess it depends on how much real cash you want to shell out for them before the trip!

(the reason I asked about the 5$ is b/c they were a different character than the 1$)

I'm sorry about the $$$ stress. That's never fun! We a little stressed about taxes since this was the 1st year we had to do quarterly taxes (due to a change in my husband's job situation). I'm just worried that I'll owe more than I set aside....

Well, are we giving them REAL money in exchange right before the trip? We don't have to, we could just use it as play, but Savannah may have heard me in the past talking about how some kids work for disney dollars through the year and then right before the trip they can cash them in for real money to use at WDW?

I don't care b/c I have no idea if we'll even be going! I could give her tons of disney dollars and then not even have to pay up!

Let's just say it's for play then. I'm not really planning on giving the kids a lot of money since I think their passports, autograph books, and pin trading lanyards are enough for souvenirs. I will probably give them a little but I don't want them to know that because I want them to save too. So, that's my rambling, long winded way of saying print out as much as you want and we'll just let them play with it.

Shew! Just finished my W2D1 run! Feeling good!

A little concerned for Hope this morning as the disney website was blank overnight while they loaded up a new offer and instead of being Free Dining, it's some summer deal! WHA???

I'm sure they will have a fall deal, it seems crazy to have spring and summer deals and not fall, but I'm concerned it won't be FD.

Excited for Pirates of the Caribbean today!!! We'll be headed over to Hope's around lunch for pirate games, treasure hunt, and pirate food! Argh!!!

BTW, Today is our 180 days!!!!!!!


Why does my ticker say 5 months, 3 weeks and 6 days??? Maybe that is exactly 180 days, I thought it would say 6 months, but whatever works!

Since we have quickservice, I didn't have too many ADR's to make. I had to laugh b/c last year at my 90 days I was up at 4am waiting for 5am to arrive so I could do each of my ADR's (we were offsite) So today I FORGOT for about 5 minutes! I got on and made 4 ADRs, I'm sure I will cancel 2 of them, but JUST in case, I wanted to have them. They are:

Sun. 9/26 Tusker House lunch 11:30
Tues. 9/28 Crystal Palace bf 8:10am (probably will cancel if we don't have the $$$)
Tues. 9/28 Rainforest Cafe dinner 6pm
Thurs. 9/30 1900 Park Fare 5pm (we will probably cancel as well, but I couldn't let go of it just yet)

I got the exact times I wanted, but it wasn't like I was trying to make Le Cellier ADRs!

another question for you......I was under the impression that once you hit the 180 day mark, for example, mine was Saturday, the 27th, that you can make your ADR's for the entire trip all in that same day, even though the last ADR's may be a week later than the first. My TA said no, she has to do them each day as they fall on their own 180 day mark. Does that make sense???

Your TA doesn't know what she's talking about!

The only time you have to make them each day at 180 days is if you are staying OFFSITE. When you have a resort reservation, you can retrieve it with your confirmation number right on the site and then it will give you 180 PLUS the next 10 days. I'm surprised she doesn't know this if she's a TA?!?!?

Glad you got all your ADR's and when you wanted them! Even if you weren't asking for things that totally book up, it's still great! Not everything we asked for our last trip was big ticket resturaunts, but we still couldn't get everything we wanted when we wanted it!

Pirates of the Caribbean Movie Day!

Oh today was a hit! The kids loved the treasure hunt so much that they were begging for us to hide more! We decorated the table with all sorts of pirate stuff, I think it came out *almost* as good as our Mad Tea Party.

I'm amazed at what we came up with...and we didn't purchase this stuff, these are things we collectively had around our homes!

There were pirate cookies and pirate pizza and root beer.

Savannah was not happy with the camera, yet again, but Kya and Jace got in the pirate spirit for some pics! (Savannah was in the spirit, just not into the pics!)

Hope made a wonderful Pirate treasure hunt, which I think the kids loved the most. They followed clues around outside and we could barely keep up with them! At one point I was running to keep up so I could get more pics.

Jace was making a video of the whole treasure hunt!

Kya finally spotted the X marks the spot after they had walked past it!

They took the treasure chest inside and divvied up the booty! It was chocolate coins and Disney Dollars!

It was an extremely sucessful day, even though...ahem...they didn't watch the darn movie yet again! They loved the treasure hunt and after begging us and being turned down quite a few times, they started hiding things for each other outside. It was a beautiful day and I would prefer Savannah was out there running around than sitting inside anyway, so I didn't mind. Hope and I did our walking first so that we wouldn't blow it off too!

The "hunt" idea was such a success that we decided next Monday we'll do a Disney Easter theme (with no movie) and have an Easter egg hunt for the kids.
