The Year of Disney Trips: ***Update!!!! 8/20/08****

I hear it is your birthday, so....

disney_gang_birthday.gif

I'm not computer literate enough to know how to put all these cute things on, but I really liked this one Scott did, so I'm borrowing it.

So, put your finger over Scott's name, and pretend that I sent it all by myself!

Happy Birthday!!!

Scott, if I owe you a fee for use of this little cutesie, let me know.

I was just right there where your pictures are - just a few weeks ago!
We had Mighty Ducks, too. That's our pool! And that's our big doggies!

I would be happy to be there right now. Or AS Music. Or Pop. (Or even AS SPorts, but only if the others weren't available.)

it is ok, this one is on me.

First again. I rock!

Thank you again for a nice short update. I really love it.

I never did Summit Plummet nor will I. My bro did it and he said it really wasn't fun. It hurt him. No thanks. I love Teamboat Springs!!!!! :thumbsup2

Ok glad I wasn't the only one that was in pain afterwards.
TS was a lot of fun, I wish we could've gone a second time, but we were running out of time.

You're welcome again for the short update. :)

:lmao: your description had me cracking up.
never been there and really have no desire for the water parks.
Biff did till I told him it was an extra park admission, I knew Mr. cheapo wouldn't go for it then.
Great update.

:rotfl: @ Biff's change of mind. I can't wait to read your guys' Sept TR.

The water parks are nice especially with the heat and it was pretty hot that day. I liked TL better than BB though.

Ack! At least the "wet spot" was water and not something else! :scared: I would have been all kinds of grossed out!

I was, it was very gross and I kept expecting the other room to have something wrong.

The water park looks like so much fun - I'm thinking of putting it back on the itinerary for August now.

They're excellent to cool off on those hot Aug. days. Maybe include some during those free dining days. Why do you think V will be spending her time there in Aug. ;)

The water park sounds like fun! I cannot believe you tried Summit Plummit!!:worship: :worship: You are AWESOME! :worship: Never, let me repeat, Never would I try it!!

I HAD to try SP. It was fun and if I do decide to ever do it again at least I'll know what to expect.

And she calls herself a Floridian?! :sad2: ;)

Yeah I always bring my bathing suit just in case. :teacher:

That's so funny - the two times we went to Tl last summer all I heard were British accents! It was nice. :goodvibes

Oh Thank goodness I wasn't the only one that noticed. They were lovely and I loved hearing them talk. They all reminded me of Jo. :goodvibes

With our weather? What do you think :rotfl2: We have a place called Center Parcs which is a holiday village they have an indoor water park but it is nothing compared to BB or TL, our pools also tend to have a slide or 2 but not much! Why do you think we spend so much time at the water parks :rotfl2:

Ah, good to know. :teacher:

I feel the same way when I read your TR too MeMom. :goodvibes I miss my AP already. :sad1:

Aren't I always;)

::yes:: :worship:

Just wait 'til Jimmy wants to try Summit Plummet though. ;)

So is this thing still on? :rolleyes1

:::::Wipes away the dust and cobwebs:::::

After our time at BB we grabbed a bus back to the resort and headed over to the food court for some grub. Apparently the food courts in the Values are all pretty much the same food choice wise. We ate and headed back to the room to shower, rest and get ready for our girls night out at MNSSHP.

After a short nap Yani and I got ready to leave. Yani had bought a fallen angel costume, but she decided not to wear it since I didn’t have a costume. She did wear the halo though.

We left James snoring and headed on over to the front desk to pick up our tickets. I get called to a CM and tell them we’re there to pick up our MNSSHP tickets when she asks me for the confirmation number.

The what?

The confirmation number that I was given when I purchased the tickets over the phone.

Oh! I check all my papers and OMG! :scared1: Noooooooo I left the notebook I had with the confirmation number at home on my desk!

I ask the CM if they can look it up by the name?

CM: “No, sorry.”

Me: “Can I call some place to get the confirmation number again?”

CM: “Sure.” (hands me phone)

So we slide on over and dial Disney and they’re closed.

Ugh!!!!:headache:

I start panicking and apologizing to Yani and am thinking frantically on what to do. So I call my cousin (the one that went in April with me) since she lives with us at home in hopes to find her. All I get is her voice mail.

I call my brother and all I get is his voice mail.

I can’t call my mom as she’s already gone in to work.

Call my cousin like 3 more times and my brother like 2 more times and still get their voicemails. :headache: :guilty: :sad1:

Oh no you didn't just leave us hanging like that after you have...well left us hanging:mad:

:scared1: OMG...You're back for a short update & then leave us hanging!!:headache:  Hurry back!! There had to be a way to check it!! :confused3

OMG what happened popcorn:: :surfweb: popcorn::

WTH???? :scared1: You can't leave us hanging like this, Z!

Tease!!!!!!!!!!!!

:faint:

You are such a tease! I hope you come back and post more soon!

:scared1: OMG...You're back for a short update & then leave us hanging!!:headache:  Hurry back!! There had to be a way to check it!! :confused3

Muahahahaha!!! :stir:

Don't worry update up very soon. :)

Finally, my cousin calls me back. I asked her if she was in school or work and she says “No, I’m getting my hair done.” D’oh!! I ask, “How long do you have left?” She says, “I just got here.” D’oh!!! I say bye to her and call my brother again. He finally picks up and I ask him if he can go home and give me the confirmation number. He complains and doesn’t want to and I beg and plead and he finally concedes. God forbid I complain whenever he asks me to do things. Sheesh!

Yani asks me if we can just pick up the tickets at MK. I told her I didn’t know and she says let’s try. So we head out to the bus stop and see some fellow partygoers dressed up. Some just had hats on while others were decked out in full costumes. It was fun and the bus to MK wasn’t even that full.

Here's Yani with her Halo:

We soon see the first signs of Halloween Disney style:

We get off the bus and beeline over to the ticketing area and ask if we can pick up our MNSSHP tickets. The CM says sure and asks for my ID and the credit card used to purchase them and bingo! We have tickets!!! Wooohooo!! OMG that was such a relief too. I cal my brother back and tell him he doesn’t have to go home and he’s still thoroughly pissed, but I don’t care because we got our tickets!!!!

We headed over to the turnstiles and are bombarded with more decorations and more people in costumes. (These are Yani's and my pics that's why some are double...)

We strolled down Main Street admiring all the decorations and seeing the people in costumes and seeing the CMs make sure the non-partygoers were exiting the park in a timely fashion. Yani and I made our way over to HM since it was now open after having been closed for refurbishment and there was no one around since we had made sure to get there early. On our way over I checked to see if CHH was open and we saw that it wasn’t and were bummed. But we were too excited to ride HM. They had the smoke going and it looked so cool.

There was no wait at all and we just walked right on and it was soooo cool and fun. It was also the first time I’ve ever ridden HM at night and it is so much more fun at night. The refurb was good, the ride didn’t break down thank goodness and it was much more smoother than I remember it being in April. Of course we got our Photopass pic with the ghost carriage too.

Here's some video I took:

The entrance with the smoke

Part of the ride (I think this is a part of the refurb my memory's kinda fuzzy on some of the new stuff)

Yani and I headed over to Big Thunder Mtn. since we wanted to try it out at night especially after reading T’s (DisneylandMama) TR, but it was closed. We passed Splash Mtn but didn’t feel like getting wet and decided to head on over to POTC. Again we found no wait. We wanted to try out the Jungle Cruise at night since I read on UtahMama’s TR that it’s a must do, but it was closed too. There was some show going on, but we opted out.

Then I found this:
CIMG2880.jpg

FINALLY!!!! I get to try out the elusive Dole Whip! I get in line and promptly get one and I sit down with Yani to enjoy it.
CIMG2882.jpg

Yummy!!! It was very very good, but I thought it was more sourish.

Then we went to find Yani some coffee here:
CIMG2878.jpg

We strolled around some more just enjoying the atmosphere and decided to check out Fantasyland. Check out the wait time for Snow White:
CIMG2857.jpg

So we got on and were literally the only ones there. The CM even asked us if we wanted to go again. We opted not to though and headed on over to Peter Pan and Mickey’s Philharmagic both with minimal wait times.

More Decorations:
CIMG2859.jpg

As we were leaving Fantasyland I see this couple and I just had to ask them for a pic:
CIMG2858.jpg

I don’t know if they thought I was weird for asking them or if they were playing their part because they looked at my like I was a little funny. Of course after I asked them for a pic everyone else decided to stop and ask them too. I kinda felt bad about that afterwards. Oh well, they really did a great job with their costumes though.

By this time Yani and I are starving so we check out the map and nix Pecos Bill and decide to head over to Cosmic Rays. We share some nuggets and watch the little kids dancing at one of the little dance places. We finish up and head on over to get a spot to watch the parade.

Well, lookie, lookie who appears outta nowhere! Glad to have you back.

The pictures are great! I remember very well how awesome Magic Kingdom looked all dressed up for Halloween. Everyone should go during that time at least once just to see for themselves. It is pretty cool.

The Alice shirt is nice. Brooklynn actually dressed up as Alice. She had the dress and wig, but the wig lasted every bit of 30 seconds. She would have nothing to do with it.

Looking forward to many more good pictures whenever you have time.

Our ticker says 43 days, 2 hours, and 8 minutes until we fly off to the fun again!!!

Hello? I thought this attraction was closed for refurbishment! What a treat! :lmao:

Hi MeMom! Yes I know it's been a long time (almost a month  ). Life just got in the way too much, but I'm here and gave a huge update.

I agree that everyone should visit for Halloween. I honestly thought the decorations for Halloween were better than the Christmas ones (but I still loved Disney @ Christmastime :goodvibes ).

I remember little Brooklynns costume! Alice is one of my favorite characters and I was looking for an Alice costume, but couldn't find a nice cheap one.

My AP expired in April  so my crazy amount of Disney trips is on the backburner. I am going at the end of May with my family, but I believe we're just hitting the water parks. I'll have to wait to do the parks in August. :cloud9:

:rotfl2: I know I couldn't believe it was still here! :rotfl:

I'm so behind on everything DIS lately and haven't even kept up with any of my subbed threads. :guilty:

Glad you're enjoying though. :goodvibes
