I know!! Reading Kat's old TR got me excited about doing my F&W report and now I want to go back this yr, but I don't think it's in the cards.

Yes we got add-on-itis. And the Margaritas are to die for and excellent on those hot Orlando days.

Definately dedicate time to eat. We only spent a day as we were on a budget, but it was enough and we throughly enjoyed it! Have fun this year!!

I know, but I'm behind so I've been updating as fast as possible. For some odd reason I get the urge to write before Disney trips. I have no idea what it is. Maybe it's the Procrastinator in me.

I was so excited to meet the villains, I'm sure I looked like a 12 yr old as I ran around trying to get pics with them.

(Sorry the pics are so big, I'm being lazy and don't feel like re-sizing...)

So with Margarita in hand we continue onwards in our Food & Winery. It was ridiculously hot and more busy than I thought it would be. I thought that on a Wed. in October nowhere near Halloween that it wouldn't be THAT busy, but the place was pretty crowded.

We come upon the next station:

We decided to get the Papas con Chorizo (Potatoes w/ Sausage):

OMG that thing was spicy!! Thank goodness I had my refreshingly cold Rita. It was quite yummy though.

We opted for the Cheese Plate:

It was actually pretty good, but Yani and I are total cheese lovers so we might be a little bias. No Guiness though as we still had our handy Mexican drink, which also went well the cheese plate.

Up next, China:

Uh yeah, we didn't get anything here as nothing was appetizing to us, but we did give our greetings:

Then it was on to India:

Again, we're not big Indian food lovers so...

No Indian Food for us! (said in my best Soup Nazi voice)

Ok moving on to...

We decided to be brave and order

We ended up getting Bobotie with Mango Chutney

It was....interesting. Hard to explain, kinda mushy, but it didn't taste bad. We were glad to have been adventurous enough to try it. The Mango tasted very good though.

Onward to...

Uh, yeah....nothing sounded good here either....Yani had very high opinions (no offense to Turkish food lovers, etc.)

But there was this little area all set up that was kinda interesting and the other places didn't have. Future World in the World Showcase????

That would be pretty cool I thought. Even if we aren't big Turkish food fans.

We continue onward to see what else whet our appetite.

Alright, next stop was Germany!

And Reason #3 to Visit Food and Wine Fest:

Just in case you can't see, I'm pointing at Beck's Beer. I was a little full with the 'Rita thought and just not in the mood for heavy German beer, but I'm sure it was GUD. None of the German food sounded good so onward we went.

Ooooh!!! Italia!

We ordered the Insalata Caprese:

It was very yummy!

Oh and I decided for Reason #2 to visit Food & Wine. Some delicious Chianti:

I've heard it goes good with Liver and some fava beans, but it also went very good with our Insalata Caprese.

We took a little break as we were making very good time and were halfway around the world. We sat in the shade and enjoyed our food and drink outside the Italy pavillion store. I think Yani may have gotten an espresso, can't remember, but I did buy myself a Pelligrino as the heat and alcohol weren't really mixing and I needed to hydrate myself properly.

So after our break, we moved on to...

Again not really interested in the food here...

Plus we were getting kinda full. Even though we were sharing the tiny portions we were getting kinda full.

Next we came upon this little area:

And even met Pearville royalty

We didn't know what all that was about, but it was cute in a weird Pearville way.

But didn't get anything again and beer just didn't sound good on this hot day.

Son onward we trekked.

The portions here looked really big so we decided not to order anything.

But I did pay homage to our homeland:

Again, no food for us. We love the Japanese culture, but aren't big fans of the food.

We did make a detour into the Japan store because we absolutely love it and what should our wandering eyes should we see?

Monchichi!

Well looky looky! I then thought of our dear DISer T (disneylandmama) who when she was here in Aug. was so disappointed when she couldn't get her beloved Monchichi. I almost bought her one too, except I didn't know if I should get her a big doll or a little one. Or if I should buy a boy or girl. I ended up not buying any though and felt bad, but vowed to ask T or V so that when I came back I would buy one. Then when I got back I read that our fellow DISer V (PrincessV) ended up buying one for T! So all was well.

After browsing the store we left and I spotted the sign for the candy lady. Oooooh!!! The candy lady, we had just missed her and I noted her next showing and noted it to come back and see it.

I am nowhere near adventurous enough for the Food and Wine Festival. I am a very picky eater, plain is the name of the game when it comes to my meals. I admire you guys for being adventurous and trying new things.

Good for the two of you!! I am not the world's most daring person when it comes to eating different foods! That said, I think you girls did an excellent job sampling the foods of other countries!! I would've probably tried Italy & America! Exciting person, huh??!!

HEY! I resemble that remark! I did warn at the beginning of our sampling that we aren't adventurous eaters.

But we did try the Boboty thing from S. Africa!

Actually we passed on a lot of stuff because neither one of us likes seafood (I know we're weird) and I'm not a big vegetable lover and a lot of those foods had both.

Also, did you see some of those prices?! $4 for a little tiny plate or cup of food? And the alcohol was pretty pricey. We were being frugal in our spending and buying stuff that we figured we would really enjoy. We had about $60 on the giftcard that we got and by the time we finished going around the world sampling food we used it all up.

Although I have a feeling I'll be hitting up the kids side at Biergarten....

DH and I were there for thebeginning of F&W Fest and we loved the Raspberry wine at Poland....soo good. We had just eaten at Le Celliar so we only drank around the world plus I am like you I would not like a lot of things on the menu.

...Well not really, but that's where we were headed next.

We got a little lost but eventually found our way

We didn't find anything that appealed to us, but they had this really cool wine Walkabout thingie where you could taste various wines, but it was a little too expensive and we passed:

See the guy in the red shirt? He was pretty hot and we stalked him for a bit while taking pictures.

Next was

Again nothing looked good, so we kept on moving.

We heard all this ruckus going on when we got here

I don't know what it was all about, but it was some sort of tribute to Oklahoma and the Indians that lived there . Whenever someone ordered something they'd ring a bell and yell and make a whole bunch of noise and we were just .

So onward we moved

We checked out the menu and thought

and decided now would be a good time for some dessert!

We got the White Chocolate, Strawberry with Champagne sorbet.
It was pretty good and went down really well in the heat. As we ate our sorbet, I wanted to check out France because I had read in Lessa's (Lifelong Dreamer) TR about the Beauty and the Beast mural thingie and I wanted to see it for all it's glory myself and whaddya know! Here it is:

So pretty and I like that Disney puts all these little touches on stuff.
As we were leaving we spot a line and see Belle & Beast out greeting people, but as soon as we get near the line, she leaves.

We decide to ask the CM when they'll be back and he says it won't be long
so we decide to wait in the shade. We ended up having a nice chat with the Photopass CM guy and before we knew it we were soon meeting Belle & Beast.

As we start leaving I look over to Morocco and spot the Genie and Jasmine and head on over to that line too!

We see the time and decide to head on back to Japan to see if this time we could catch the candy lady.

...and I will continue after I return from Fockerfest '08!!!
