Can I have a collective YAAAAHOOOOOOO??? My eldest's science fair project is FINISHED!!!! He turns it in when they go back on Tuesday. Whew. I HATE science project time of year. We can now go to Disney though with nothing hanging over his head that he has to finish Monday afternoon or evening.

Liz Im glad everything went well at the doctors and that you are now allowed to be mobile!!! Do I get a colored picture too??

Sherry YIKES about the menengitis!! Are they going to test the kids on the bus or give them anything preventative?

Well we are all packed except for dh. He's on his own. Ive been a crankmonster all night because my eldest wont go to sleep and my dh wont move his tush to help get everything together for tomorrow. ARRRRGH. Im going to try and go to sleep and hope everything is calmer in the morning. Im getting off at noon tomorrow so we should be in the WORLD by about 3

No WDW for me...DisneyLAND...with Elaine in July and again with DH in Nov.

Tooth is fine.....actually never hurt. I caught it before it broke. All fixed up for now. Gotta go back in 2 weeks for the "real" crown.

Lily...you will have fun. I hate the unknown (and sometimes the known )......but it usually turns out good.

DH had his doctor appt today. He has to go back next week and get a collagen injection to push one vocal chord next to the other.....hopefully that will get his voice back.

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Ugh Im exhausted!!! I think I got about two whole hours sleep last night. Thankfully I can sleep while dh drives. Gonna make this morning at work fun though. Just gonna have to keep uppermost in my mind that this afternoon Im gonna be in the WORLD!!! Woooooo hoooooo!!!

This morning we have a meeting with our youngest's teacher. Its a planning day and they have no school but the teacher will be there. I think we find out where he gets placed next year for first grade. Im excited to find out how she thinks he's doing. We know he knows a lot but he wont show us very easily. Not like our eldest who wanted you to know what he knew at this age.

After a rough start....my eldest is not in the best of moods because guess who wouldnt go to sleep last night....things seem to be calming down. I better run and take advantage of this LOL.

Morning all!

Thanks for the prayers for DS. This is all so scary. The girl is an 8th grader, so I don't think DS had much contact with her. She does ride his bus, though. Apparently she had kissed a couple boys last week, too. The students and teachers she was in closest contact with have already been notified and preventive measures have been put in motion.
I'll be watching DS like a hawk. I told DH if he has ANY of the symptoms, we are off to the dr.

Lily, sorry I won't see you at John's, but you will have a wonderful time on your trip.

Nancy, hope DH's injection goes well. My mom had one of those, too. She hopes to never have another.

Jordan's school is having a Car Wash and Bake Sale today after school. Hope the weather holds out. Supposed to rain AGAIN (it rained overnight) and the temps have fallen to the low 60's. Figures.

Sherry, it's been a while since I have been "exposed" to menengitis (well at least bacterial) but I swore there was something you could take from your doctor to help lessen your chances of getting it? I can't recall what as it has been since college since I personally knew of someone dying, but you might as your doctor to see if you are really concnerned. I wonder if the girls' mom did anything about it. I feel so bad for her though as that has to be so heartbreaking. Hang in there and try not to worry... hopefully your DS had nothing to do with any of those kids (in a way that would cause him to get sick) And remember I also have had a couple friends with that and no troubles here since we never shared drinks or anything like that anyway. I am sure this has to be scary though and in the futre ask your doctor about the shot they have out that might help for future scares... not sure how effective that is. hang in there

Oh but veyr good luck with teh car wash!!! I hope the weather doesn't interfere with it!!!

JRKaren, thanks for the update on dinner! You really do love those ham amd cheese samiches! I have pizza and cucumber salad which was quite tasty! Today for lunch we wil be having some leftover chinese...yummy!! Not sure about diner yet...but I am sure it will be very yummy as we have been feeding mom pretty good lately!! Lily, I was just thinking that Barkley could really use a bath! In your spare time, would ya mind coming over for a visist and giving the littke boy a nice bath? I know that I paid $80 for the percocet that I think I took maybe 5 of, they made me sick...and unfortunately for me, I do not have perscriptiion coverage!! Thanks for the best wishes for DH...Sherry...bad procedure?? He thought the core sample was bad. Worse than the surgery. And it does eventually have to be repeated as the collagen wears away. They are hoping that his chord will recovery on its own before that.

Busy making last minute preps for the picnic. Every year when I see how much work Sue feels that she has to do in order to get ready for the picnic, I start to wonder if I should be subjecting her to the stress. But then the picnic happens and we all have a great time. Only a few hours to go until we're at Cedar Point. And only a couple more days until I fire up the old Weber charcoal grill.

Liz, I'm having pizza for lunch today--they ordered it for the office because it's pouring out here today. I do not have much planned for the weekend--just a cookout at my cousin's house on Sunday. I want to be near home tomorrow. Tomorrow would have been my parents 50th wedding anniversary, and we just don't know how my dad is going to react to it (for those who don't know me, I just lost my mom in January). I know it's going to be a tough day for my family tomorrow.

You know, seeing that picture of John Schneider brought a funny story to mind. I got hand me down Barbie dolls from my older sisters. Back then, they only had one male Barbie doll (just Ken), so my sisters cut the hair short on a couple of the Barbie dolls to make male Barbie dolls (with Barbie's figure). One of the dolls had blond hair, one had brown hair. So, when I got those Barbie dolls, I was really into the Dukes of Hazard, so I always called them Bo and Luke Duke when I played with them.

Now, that may be funny to read, but it gets funnier. Fast forward to 2001. My friend David is starring in 42nd Street on Broadway. Who is his co-star for a while but Tom Wopat. So, I go visit my friend at the theatre one day, and I tell him this story. He tells me he is going to tell Tom that story. I tell him that would be fine so long as I'm not within twenty blocks of the theatre when he tells him. Appearantly Mr. Wopat got quite the kick out of that one.
