Starting a guild has gotten exponentially harder since Cata, because so many players have a minimum guild level in mind and won't join a new guild that doesn't have those perks. The guild most of my toons are in is level 15 and we have total strangers whispering us for invites all the time, but not many people seem to be interested in getting in with a new guild and working up through the levels and achievements.

I'm so glad I got my protodrake last year and can skip most of the seasonal stuff now.

Yep, I left a level 14 guild. It's probably 16 or 17 by now. At least the ones I have who have stayed are looking like they are quality folks, and also happen to be adults. Nothing against kids, as I'll take some in the guild, but no way do I want a guild of kids.

Funny story. I left my last guild because of the GM ( mostly ) ..... well I was recruiting 2 nights ago, and someone asked to be invited. Turns out is was the son of the GM. Once he realized who the GM was he gquit immediately. ( I was recruiting with an alt )

Starting a new guild can be difficult, luckily most of us have been playing games together since 1999 so we have about 15 of us that are on regularly. I Gkicked someone for stealing from the guild (Luckily they didnt get away with much as I keep the bank permissions tight for newer members) so that is one of the major cons of recruiting from trade chat (i've only recruited 2 people and they were people who wrote in complete sentences and chatted with prior to invite). Guild is approaching level 8 now so as soon as we get that perk we'll have more people wanting to join us.

As of now we operate on guildinvites by personal referral only or direct invite by me, it's much smoother. Plus we prefer the tight-knit feeling of our guild.


On another note, the love in the air festival is annoying.

In my guild, only officers can invite. And officer or not, all invitees have the referrer of the invitee's name put in officer notes, so that I can see if someone is making lots of bad referrals / invites.

Well I am always looking for places to roll alts and play..what server ya on? I tend to level pretty quick, but of course will take time to be raid ready..LOL..

We're on Winterhoof - Alliance. And trust me, we are NO where near raid ready. We've been pugging alot to fill those one or two lots. I'm ready for heroics but the rest of the guildies aren't and I'm too chicken to pug a heroic by myself lol. Pathetic I know...

We will take any and everyone who wants to play in a very casual and stress free environment! Once we get more numbers we might start initiating some raids. If we have enough people on we almost always run dungeons.

Oh we also have alts of just about every level and type imaginable so if you ever want help runnings dungeons or questing at your level, we'll be glad to assist in any way!

I am a protection pally, guildies love we can insta-queue heroics! Getting some love with the patch tomorrow as well (though my off-spec Holy, is getting a smidgen of a mana cost nerf)

What's up is disappointment. I just left my all time favorite guild that I have been in since August. I was an original member, and I was the highest level of officer.

The GM is a 30 something guy, and he recruited this 22 year old girl.... and she likes to flirt with him on Ventrillo. In 3 weeks she went not even in the guild to assistant GM, and she goes against everything I wanted in a guild. She uses bad language. She talks about sex. And she's just flat out mean to so many of the guild members. These were things that wee absolutely unacceptable to do in guild chat.... until she came along and started flirting with the GM.

In 3 weeks I went form this being my favorite guild of all time, to one I just quit. And any officer who has complained to the GM about her was either demoted, or in one case, booted from the guild.

Revenge... LOL, the guild has broken up all because of the GM and this girl. Finally the guild revolted against the girl ( mostly ) but also the GM. The GM booted all the officers except one, and now is begging for officers to come back. And the girl gquit.

This is especially satisfying for me because I told the GM this girl was trouble.. I took the time to write him an in game mail that took 3 mailings to complete, explaining how she was ruining the guild. And his response was "thanks".

So, I may be petty, but I was also correct.

BTW, today, for the 1st time in 6 years, I found the Savory Deviate Delight recipe... I was all excited, until I found out the drop rate is much higher now. So, high, in fact, that you can't even really sell it for much, anymore.

Ran another heroic, almost got enough points for another piece of armor. Kudos on the deviate drop, I remember when those used to go for alot. I tell ya want, I cannot find the rare drop enchants or the jewelcrafter meta formulas on the AH at all today. Kinda a bummer.

On a side note, I really want to do BoT trash to pick my Prot Pally up a Soul Blade. Plus I need to start collecting gear for my off spec of ret, they are doing nice DPS again post patch. One retadin was pulling about 14kdps in a heroic earlier.

Holy Cow! I get about 6K DPS at 85 with my ret pally.

Well another Lunar Festival is now over....I didnt finish it on ANY toon. I just did not have any interest, which is normally not like me..I am kinda bummed about it, but meh, what can I do..

My druid has finally hit 84..LOL..so now begins the final push to 85. I did the Love is in the Air boss, but so far, have not received anything of use to me as a boomkin.

On Thursday, we got some old guildmates together, and we knocked out some guild achievments. It was a lot of fun getting together with the old gang for some play. We even did some BG's..Good Times...

Otherwise, not a lot going on as of late, just questing mostly, tanking my heart out...

I've been playing my mage for the last week or so. Took him from 34 - 52. For me, that's FAST. Felwood is AWESOME since Cata. Lots of fun quests, and surprises. Plus this character does herbalism, and the amount of Gromsblood there is almost staggering.... Yet I can sell it really quickly at 80g a stack!

For the last 2 days I have been selling at least 5 stacks a day. My toon is already at 300 in herbs / alchemy so I don't really need anymore. And I am just gathering as I quest; I'm not farming it.

I'm dual specced Fire / Frost, but play primarily fire, because my water elemental from frost doesn't want to fight, is seems.... I tell it what to do, and nothing..... it just stand still. ( I know how to use pets / minnions ) He just won't cooperate. Just as well, as I prefer playing fire, anyway. They say frost provides more survivabilty, but I haven't been dying at all. Only time I remember dying in the last few weeks is when I missed hitting the right button.

Only bad thing is I can't seem to get any worthwhile glyphs at the AH.... none worth the price, and none I really like.

I thought about leveling my mage, I think I'll wait till the guild levels to 10 next week and I can get the +xp cape and I can get some more heirlooms to level it with. Recommend going Frost mage like traditionally?

Still having a blast with the pally, I've been busy at work and most everyone is getting close to 85 now. Gonna be a heroic weekend

So another WoW weekend is over for me at least...My druid is about 3/4 through 84....85 is SOOO close...it seems to be taking FOREVER. Ran Vortex Pinnacle for the first time...went through 3 tanks and 2 healers..in 10 min...it was pretty sad..but we got it done.

Otherwise, did not get a lot of play in...I think tonight I will play some more.

I am gonna take my guild on some heroics tonight, should be fun!
There is no cheap ore on the AH today though so no prospecting gems for us

I just love the new hasty hearth guild perk, makes life so much easier when traveling about.
