Quick update:
I've been playing every evening since Tuesday when I got home from work. The boyfriend was up for 36 hours straight playing. He's got the week off from work, so he's leveling his mage during the day and his druid is leveling with my paladin at night.
I'm now almost 83, mostly because we weren't trying to powerlevel...and only played a few hours a night. Gotta love being able to fly EVERYWHERE - I can now flip the flight master the bird (no pun intended) and not have to take the scenic route everywhere.
We finished the Hyjal quests and I loved that zone. Totally epic. We started Vash'jir last night and it took me a little bit to (a) figure out how to do all that traveling & fighting underwater and (b) to figure out where the *&^% my guy was at in a 360 degree world. I get lost in TWO dimensions, now I gotta deal with THREE?? However, Vash'jir is beautifully detailed and the quests are fantastic!
We also went to Blackrock last night (dungeon) for the first time with some guildies and it was fun. Not too hard, and nice gear to be had.
I found out my stupid heirlooms don't work after level 80. I'm going to smack the person who told me it was a good idea. What a waste of justice points.
Guild advancement is depressing. The cap is really low for both guild experience and one's personal reputation with the guild. I'm a Senior Officer (one of the founding members) and I just cracked friendly. We're level two, but I had hoped with the amount of achievement freaks in our guild, we'd have gotten further. I am, however, killing critters like crazy and trying to find pools to fish in. It is frustrating my guy to no end when I say, "Just a minute...there's a trout pool here!!"
I've replaced quite a few pieces of my Tier 10 ICC heroic raiding gear with greens

. I worked so hard for those epicpurplezlol, however, not spending a crapton of gold for repairs (go go plate wearin' paladins!) is nice. There's a great deal of competition for herbs, so my herbalism skill is suffering a bit. Enchanting is slow going as well. But I'm trying to chug along on first aid, fishing & cooking when I can. Fishing really does compliment cooking a LOT.
Make sure you go to your capital cities and do your cooking & fishing dailies. They give good exp and skill points for very little work. Also...I tried archaeology and love it. It gives a LOT of exp for each artifact fragment you find, and something to do if you just want to escape the leveling grind for a bit.
I'm going to be doing some power leveling this weekend and hopefully will hit84 by Sunday. I'll update when I can! Hope you guys are having as much fun as I am!
