The World of Warcraft Cataclysm Thread.

Well last night sucked...

On our calendar, there was a sign up for ICC 10 alts run. DH and I signed up. Well raid start was 7:30. We log in and are told the leader wont be on till 8. We find it amusing, as she always pushs us to start on time..but whatever.

So 8 rolls around, and the raid leader announces that we are instead doing a LK run since we have a good make up for it. I am not overly interested in a LK kill as I was really tired, and just not up for it, but figured I would at least be asked, since I was with the group that helped get there 2 weeks ago...Yeah..I was wrong...neither DH nor myself even got an invite...WOW! Guess they were still ticked at me from our issues 2 weeks ago..

So DH got really ticked, asked in guild chat why he wasnt invited, and finally /gquit. I wasnt even logged in anymore, but it seems I was /gkicked. UGH:headache: So now, 1 month before Cata, I am guildess again. I think they wanted us to leave anyway after rocking the boat with them 2 weeks ago

So I plan to devote some time to my alts. I really do not know what else to do..Just a crappy night all around.

Oh Dax, how awful! I'm so sorry!!! Did anyone respond as to why you guys weren't invited even though you signed up and showed up for the raid?! :headache:

Nope...we have been getting a cold shoulder feeling for a few weeks now...so it was bound to happen. I just love how I was booted, without even speaking to me first.

Ah, guild drama over raiding...can't say I miss that! :rotfl:

So, I hit 80 yesterday, but it is kind of funny how it happened.

We're in Halls of Lightning, just cruising along when the healer DC's. Now I am a dual specced ret / holy pally - but I have NEVER healed. In fact, I don't even have my action bars really set up at that point.

Anyway, I volunteer to go holy and tell everybody that I have never done it, but I will try if they want. The group says 'Go for it", so I do..... As we are almost done, people are telling me that I did a great job - nobody has died, though many came close, and there are just 4 of us.

Anyway, on the final boss, I ding 80! :rotfl:... which would not have happened if there had been a full 5 people in the group.

So, I have several 80's, but none have really done heroics much. This time, though, I hope to do a whole lot of them. I will do my 1st one later on today.

Gratz on another 80...I still get all giddy with each one..It is a nice accomplishment..

I played very litte WoW this weekend. I spent most of the day yesterday either cleaning, doing :laundy:, or playing Xbox 360..LOL..

Dh and I have put the 80s on hold, and our working on our army of alts. We know that few will hit max level by expansion, but we trying anyway..

I used to hate doing heroics... so many jerks, but this time around it seems like folks are MUCH NICER, and I figured out why.... at this point, they don't really care about the drops, by and large. They just want the JP.

I guess most people are super geared these day because even heroics are pretty easy. And nobody seems to mind at all that I am pretty much under geared.

Hopping on! Thanks Dax for the referral =)

Name is Aubrealis on Maelstrom - anyone else on that server? I've also got a couple mid-level Hordes on Forbidden Coast, but we're looking for an Ally-friendly server to start on for Cataclysm, where we also could switch over our mains - Maelstrom sort of sucks on the getting ganked constantly front, and we have yet to find a satisfactory guild that my hubby can raid with often.

And, hello! So happy there are others like me out there =)

Hey all, sorry I havent been posting, my WOW play has been kinda diminished the last few days due to to much real life getting in the way..

So can we believe it...Cata is getting closer and closer...I am SOOOOO not ready...

I have mostly been playing my warrior on Drak'Thul the last couple of days. Been working on the Cata event quests, and have earned over 100g doing them. I am trying to get my Blacksmithing up on him as well. He is currently level 74! I hope to hit 80 by Cata...

Otherwise, most of my other toons are just standing by. I have lost interest in raiding thanks to the bad luck with the last guild...which sucks, I was pretty close to being Kingslayer, and would be the first time I had done all the current content before it became obsolete.

I am looking forward to the Pilgram quests starting next week, they always a lot of fun, and I have a few toons who want turkeys this year..LOL

Has anyone gotten any good loot from the pre-cata bosses? I got a nice belt for my holy pally! I'm loving these pre-cata events! Definitely a nice change of pace from the norm.

So, I have been doing heroics and getting nice drops... and I did the Cata instances with the 2 bosses....

So I have a bunch of pieces of level 251 ( I think it is ).... but is that what people call tiered armor? Or is their much better armor than that?

251 is the same item level as the drops in ICC10, so yeah, that's good stuff. There is some better out there, 264 in ICC25 and 277 in ICC25 heroic modes, but 251 is raid-quality gear. It is nice to see they've finally set up an event with worthwhile drops; the lvl 200 gear from the seasonal bosses is useless with badge gear so easy to come by.

So peeps, this is it...I am hearing a LOT of rumors that the Shattering is happening THIS WEEK!!!!

This means a lot for our little world of Azeroth..Hard to believe that everything I have known for 5yrs is about to just go...BOOM!

So are we ready for the changes...the countdown to Cataclysm is getting nearer...who is ready?

ITS OFFICIAL!!!! The Shattering is happening TOMORROW!!!

So tonight, I will move all my 80's out of Dalaran, since the portals are no longer in existance, and move them to Orgrimmar and set my hearths there.

I may take a final stroll through the world, just to say goodbye to some of the zones I have fond memories of.

I also am going to gear up to get ready for the new class combos. I want to eventually change my Belf Pally to a Tauren. I also plan on rolling a troll druid.

So now we know its happening...what are your plans for your Shattering Eve night?

I'm pouting... We're leaving for a quick mini-trip to Kalahari tonight so I won't have time to do much and won't even get to see any of the new stuff until Friday! Worst. Timing. Ever. :lmao:

OMG is anyone ever REALLY prepared LOL! I'm barely getting my Pilgram dailies done much less anything else!? Ack! So where should I go park my toons? Stormwind? Will Dalaran be obsolete?

Alliance I would park in SW...when Cata releases, that is the step off point for the new quests.

Horde would be Orgrimar.

Dalaran and Shattrath will be loosing the portals to major citys and replacing them with class trainers. So there is really no major need to be there anymore unless you are leveling 68-80.

From what I have gathered, the shattering will change the landscape of Azeroth, meaning new quest will be active. Old world flying WILL NOT be active until Cata. though.

Indeed, I am subbing as well. I haven’t posted in months, but this thread caught my attention. Forgive the length here – but you all combined two of my favorite things. Disney fans AND WoWers. Well played, friends!:thumbsup2

I have already parked all my toons in Orgrimmar, anticipating the Shattering. I have 4 level 80's who are eagerly anticipating smackin' ol' Deathwing upside his molten armored head! How he treated my dear friend Alexstraza was unconscionable! No worries...he will be hearing from me soon enough!

I predict that Dalaran will be a ghost town, just like Shattrath was after Wrath came out. However, people who enjoy PVP might want to play there to get to Wintergrasp, and to do cooking/fishing dailies if that’s your thing. Also, if you've already gotten to Loremaster, the next thing you will want to do is to make sure everyone loves you - get your reputations up to Exalted (that is 40 Exalted reps before Cata, and 45 exalted reps after Cata). It will assist your guild with achievements and perks. Being one of the founders and officers in my current guild for the past year and a half, I'm very excited about the guild changes.

Yep, I am a proud member of the Horde :woohoo: (Loremaster, Exalted, Kingslayer, and many more ) and consider myself a pretty decent raider – albeit not a hardcore one. We do well enough for a casual guild – we’ve completed all raiding encounters. Hey…where are all my hordies? Am I the only one?

Our guild is full of middle-aged geeks like me, and most of our kids/siblings/parents/inlaws/friends are part of our guild (guild name: Jackal). I’m also a mod queen – I’m a fan of Carbonite, Dominos, VuhDo (for you healers – it’s invaluable), and more. I think I have something like 125 mods now, which always break after each patch and I spend a week getting them to work again. LOL :surfweb:

I am a self-admitted Lore Geek, Achievement Wh…er…Fiend (~6700 achievement pts), Mount / Pet Collector (100+ mounts, almost 100 pets) and closet RPer. My guildmates usually give me grief when I school them on the importance of the Aspects and comment that my buddy Thrall has handed over his role as Warchief to that butt-monkey Garrosh in order to serve a higher good as the Baddest Shaman in The World. I luff me some Thrall…he’s my hero! :worship: /swoon I’m not a Garrosh fan…Team Vol’jin all the way!

Oh, I am on the Thrall server – oh yes, I am. It’s very Horde friendly. :hippie:I share this server with many of my real life friends and my significant other (he’s the boyfriend, and we’ve been together for 7 years). The two of us have been playing WoW since launch – some 6 years now. My main toon is an 80 Paladin (healin’ & rettin’), and I also have an 80 Druid (feral), 80 Priest (face-melting shadowy goodness) and 80 Rogue (combat stabbymuffin). I think there’s a level 67 DK in there, but she bores me. Once those main four are at 85 and I get a little bored, I plan on starting a goblin Mage :wizard: and a Worgen Druid, even though the Worgen is a stinky alliance. /rasp

Stinky alliance is RIGHT! You know the alliance don’t use deodorant, right? Right?? :rolleyes1 I mean, that’s why they put Jaina in a tower in Theramore…story goes that she stunk Lordaeron right out! (which is probably why the Forsaken can handle the stench – no nostrils = no smellin’). And Varian Wrynn? He’s the stinkiest of them all. :scared1: OMGBBQSAUZ – don’t even get me started on those hairy little dorfs. The gnomes…they’re good fer puntin’.

If y’all find yourself on the Thrall server, on the cool side (Horde…of course), shout out a holler to Bellaryl / Tehya / Dalanari / Mirgot. I’m usually playing one of those four broads, and am always available for a quick /hi and /dance. If you’re REALLY nice, my main will put on her dancing outfit and jam on the roof of the Orgrimmar Bank! :cheer2:

For the Horde!

Welcome to our little WOW home here on the DIS...hopefully this thread will be a tad more active as we get the Shattering/Cata expansion rolling.

I agree with you. I actually still use Shattrath as a hub only because Dalaran when its busy does mean and nasty things to my computer. I am looking forward to working on getting exalted with my toons as well. The guild stuff I am kinda worried about..I recently lost my guild due to drama, so I am sitting here guildless.

I mostly play horde as well. Casual raider here too. I do dabble a bit on alliance though on certain servers.

I use some mods, not as many as some, but I cant live without some. I use Healium for healing, Titan Bar for my info, and if SellJunk is not working..I cry..LOL..I also use T-Bag for my bag addon.

Most of my horde toon reside on Undermine right now. I actually do have a few toons on Thrall....alliance side though. I may start rolling some horde there as well...DH and I are always starting new toons. My main is an 80 Belf Warlock(I love DESTRO), my other main is a 80 Druid Boomkin!! I :love: my boomkin. I also have a Belf Ret pally who is also 80. Not sure how I feel about Ret yet though. I also dabble on Holy with her.

We have a bunch of alts scattered around a few other servers, including Drak'Thul, Cenarious, and Elune.

Stinky alliance is RIGHT! You know the alliance don’t use deodorant, right? Right?? :rolleyes1 I mean, that’s why they put Jaina in a tower in Theramore…story goes that she stunk Lordaeron right out! HAHA..I do hate gnomes, but I played worgen in the Beta...and again..

For the Horde!

Your post had me lol'ing. Nice to meet you! Even for a hordie.

I'm very much looking forward to guild achievments. And Archeology.

I've kinda new to addons but I can't live without titanpanel, bagnon, healium, accomplishment, and gatherer (and a few more here and there, but that's the jist of it).
