The 'Wonder'ful Mexican Riviera with a nut (allergy) Full report w/pics!

TQ, On the Rasul, was the price listed ($89) for each person or was it a different cost for a couple? I am interested in it, but DH is not sure about it.

It was 89.00 +tip total for both of us. My DH is totally not a spa person, but he will be the first one online to sign up for this when our reservation window opens up;)

Are the Shutters photographers there for the Tea Party? We usually spring for the CD because of the distribution license so I get annoyed when I have to take my own pictures onboard, LOL.

:goodvibesLoving this TR! Although I keep going back to the Dream ones to see what I can see, it's nice to check out the stuff I haven't done and the new itineraries...Your pirate costume is lovely, by the way! :)

This is the description from the DCL website:

For children who want to experience a little excitement when cooling down, Mickey's Pool boasts a twisting, one-deck-high yellow slide suspended by a gigantic Mickey Mouse hand. To use the slide, children must be between the ages of 4 and 14, with a minimum height of 38 inches and a maximum height of 64 inches.

You rock Stinkerbe11!!!

I honestly cannot remember, although I'm sure they wouldnt pass up the opportunity to make more money:) DH bought a really nice camera for me before the cruise, so it was out of the question for me to even consider the cd. Unfortunately, it's complicated and I haven't quite figured it out, so we had some pics that were blurry, off center, underexposed etc...maybe I'll have it figured out by the next cruise.

I just read in another thread that the cruise that was last week (2-6 through 13) did not have the character tea. I'm really hoping this is due to the Super Bowl, but I'm going to have to warn my daughter that it might not occur. :sad1:

Thank You. I have put it on our "saved activities". We are still to far out to be able to start booking things. I am assuming that you can book it online?

Day 6- Cabo Touch & Go

You never know what you’re going to wake up to, but this morning we were greeted by Los Arcos.
IMGP2858.jpg

We enjoyed the beautiful view as we tried out room service breakfast and watched vintage Disney cartoons (again).
IMGP2730.jpg

The room service menu is limited but the kids loved having breakfast in the room and I will never complain when someone shows up at my door with a pot of hot coffee.

(borrowed from castawayclubdotcom)

The kids wanted to play in the Lab, so Divot and I tried breakfast in Beach Blanket. I think they have an excellent selection with pastries, fresh fruit, oatmeal, cream of wheat, pancakes, waffles, bacon, sausage, smoked salmon, omelet station, cereals, yogurt etc... We had oatmeal and shared an omelet but everything looked delicious and the view from the back of the ship was just gorgeous.

IMGP2832.jpg

Divot thought the kids might get a kick out of tendering and seeing the port area, so we tore them away from the club and headed out to Cabo.
IMGP2739.jpg

IMGP2841.jpg

This was around 9:00 and tendering started at 7:30, so we didn’t have much of a wait to get on the boat. We walked around the port area for a bit, bought some souvenirs from the locals and called it an early day.
IMGP2756.jpg

IMGP2753.jpg

The kids wanted to have a quick lunch and go back to the lab, so we grabbed some sandwiches and fruit from deck 9 and dropped BASS and GG off to play.

Divot and I don’t get many dates, so we loved all the opportunities on the cruise to spend time alone...so we had another nice, quiet lunch together at Triton’s.
IMGP2616.jpg

We ordered the chilled cream of pineapple soup(very good), Meze(hummus with tabbouleh salad & pita bread(not good), lobster ravioli(just ok) and tortilla soup(good).

After lunch we walked around the ship, just enjoying the beautiful view and the solitude of being alone(parents of young children can appreciate this).

We found ourselves back in the Cove and we discovered the danger in asking the barrista/bartender to make her favorite coffee drink for us. Divot ended up with Jack Daniels with a “splash” of espresso and I got about 16 ounces of straight Baileys...(that’s what it tasted like anyway).

Divot and “Jack” headed to the outlook and I decided to lounge by the quiet cove pool for awhile- although it was too cold to swim and the hot tubs were really crowded.
IMGP2923.jpg

I was really digging the alone time(something I NEVER get at home), so I decided to take it a step further and spend the rest of the afternoon in the spa...

Part two of Cabo- Touch & Go will follow momentarily:goodvibes

Wonderful update! Cabo looks quite beautiful, too. Thanks for sharing more of your cruise with us. :goodvibes

I am so jealous of all the alone time you are getting!! We have 2 little ones as well and I hope ours like the clubs have as much as yours do!!

Cabo Touch & Go- Part two

Tonight was semi-formal night and I was a little surprised to see the mice in traditional outfits instead of dressier ones.

IMGP2983.jpg

Dinner was in Animator’s Palate (no show this time, but they did have cartoons on the tvs around the room).

I had the mushroom soup with truffle oil(good), Lobster tail(good), blue cheese/asparagus risotto(good) and chocolate lava cake(good).

Divot had a salad(good), Venison(good), banana creme brulee(good).

BASS tried the lobster but the texture was too much, so he ate GG’s dinner after she fell asleep at the table.
IMGP2970.jpg

Divot joked with our server that he needed to stop putting sleeping pills in GG's food.
IMGP3012.jpg

IMGP3015.jpg

The kids were exhausted, so Divot stayed in with them while I went out to search for a non-existent coffee mug.

The only souvenir that I really wanted, was a Cove Cafe travel mug. I started the search in the duty free shop on deck 3- The Radar Trap.
IMGP3274.jpg

They had glasses and travel mugs but they were the generic ones that you can get anywhere around Disney.

This stop was not a total loss though, I did find out some interesting information and as a result DCL will most assuredly be selling more tequila.

I was speaking to the CM in the store about their ridiculous price of the Don Julio reposado ($142.00) and proudly told him that I bought it in Puerto Vallarta for $35.00...my delusions of grandeur were quickly diminished when I picked up the bottle and saw that the price was actually $42.00! Ay Dios Mio!...You have got to be kidding me...

I abandoned my children, trekked through the drug cartel infested jungle of Puerto Vallarta for what I thought was a rare(last one in Mexico) bottle of pure liquid gold and I find out that I only saved $7.00!?! AND it was sitting on a shelf in the Radar Trap on deck 3 the whole time!!!

The CM was confused as I was having a freak-out episode right there in his shop. I grabbed the duty free liquor price list and showed him that indeed right there on the printed page it said Don Julio Reposado $142.00. He looked back and forth between the bottle and the list several times before making a phone call to someone who I assume was his boss.

Turns out, it was a misprint and the price really is 42.00. Oh, well- At least I have a story to tell whenever I crack open my bottle of Don...which by the way...

The coffee mug search was futile- they no longer exist. I mean they have some plain ones with the DCL logo, but nothing at all with Cove Cafe on them. I guess the mug that I gave out as a FE gift will have to serve as a reminder of the cruise instead.

When I got back to the room, there was a cute little towel turtle, tomorrow's Navigator and the autographed pillowcases that I dropped off the first day.

Coming up...‘Til we meet again, character breakfast and dinner at Palo!

Your story about the Don Julio is funny!:rotfl: It happens to all of us. ;)

I love your FE gift -- practical, useful, and really creative! I'm impressed!

So, I will be buying Don Julio on board! That's a good story...DH will be thrilled with the new bargain price!

Loving your TR's. And absolutely wonderful photos. Now I can't wait to Cruise into Cabo.

If you have your navigators handy, can you tell me, were there any matinees for the stage shows during at Sea Days?

Thank You
EGP

Nice Cabo pictures. Thank you for continuing to provide the wonderful food porn and menu pics! Cool FE, BTW.

Silly question: did you happen to notice if they had Krispy Kreme donuts at any of the restaurants?

Thanks!

Stinker
nice pix... about the pillow case.. did you give them a plain white pillow case? I see the princess embroided on them? Did DCL do the embroidery ?

Stinkerbell, loving your TR and your sense of humor!! Those coffee mugs are so great!! I am working on FE's now, and they put mine to shame!

Thanks for sharing!

Whatever camera you were using, your photos are great! Were those pics of the rock arches taken from the boat? Is it docked that close or do you have super magnification power (LOL) on your lens?

Your detailed trip report and pics are making me very excited for our Oct cruise. Thanks so much for adding positively to my anticipation of our trip :flower3:

PS Your gorgeous family looks like they had a terrific time and made some great memories.

also why does the dinner menu show Smoothie of the Day - $3.95 ? Do you have to pay for anything non-alcoholic ?
