Cabo Touch & Go- Part two
Tonight was semi-formal night and I was a little surprised to see the mice in traditional outfits instead of dressier ones.
Dinner was in Animator’s Palate (no show this time, but they did have cartoons on the tvs around the room).
I had the mushroom soup with truffle oil(good), Lobster tail(good), blue cheese/asparagus risotto(good) and chocolate lava cake(good).
Divot had a salad(good), Venison(good), banana creme brulee(good).
BASS tried the lobster but the texture was too much, so he ate GG’s dinner after she fell asleep at the table.
Divot joked with our server that he needed to stop putting sleeping pills in GG's food.
The kids were exhausted, so Divot stayed in with them while I went out to search for a non-existent coffee mug.
The only souvenir that I really wanted, was a Cove Cafe travel mug. I started the search in the duty free shop on deck 3- The Radar Trap.
They had glasses and travel mugs but they were the generic ones that you can get anywhere around Disney.
This stop was not a total loss though, I did find out some interesting information and as a result
DCL will most assuredly be selling more tequila.
I was speaking to the CM in the store about their ridiculous price of the Don Julio reposado ($142.00) and proudly told him that I bought it in Puerto Vallarta for $35.00...my delusions of grandeur were quickly diminished when I picked up the bottle and saw that the price was actually $42.00! Ay Dios Mio!...You have got to be kidding me...
I abandoned my children, trekked through the drug cartel infested jungle of Puerto Vallarta for what I thought was a rare(last one in Mexico) bottle of pure liquid gold and I find out that I only saved $7.00!?! AND it was sitting on a shelf in the Radar Trap on deck 3 the whole time!!!
The CM was confused as I was having a freak-out episode right there in his shop. I grabbed the duty free liquor price list and showed him that indeed right there on the printed page it said Don Julio Reposado $142.00. He looked back and forth between the bottle and the list several times before making a phone call to someone who I assume was his boss.
Turns out, it was a misprint and the price really is 42.00. Oh, well- At least I have a story to tell whenever I crack open my bottle of Don...which by the way...
The coffee mug search was futile- they no longer exist. I mean they have some plain ones with the DCL logo, but nothing at all with Cove Cafe on them. I guess the mug that I gave out as a FE gift will have to serve as a reminder of the cruise instead.
When I got back to the room, there was a cute little towel turtle, tomorrow's Navigator and the autographed pillowcases that I dropped off the first day.
Coming up...‘Til we meet again, character breakfast and dinner at Palo!
