I can't believe those lifeguards, what was there problem! Geez. I definitely would have complained to hotel management.

I wonder why they were left outPictures That Won't Make It On This Report If Left To the "Woman"
OMG What!!!! That's ridiculous isn't the slide there for kids to slide down onDid you tell my daughter she couldnt go down the slide??? Getting right up in the guys face.
Uh, well, uh, ah er. Yeah.
Why! Not a question, really more of a statement.
One of the life guards called up and told me she needed a break.
I think Buzz handled the lifeguard situation pretty well.
Of course, I would have gone one step further (perhaps over the line) and complained to a manager. Those kids need to learn a lesson and that will only happen if it comes from their boss!
She also forgot to mention about the chairs:
I DID clear off space for all of us by tossing towels that were lying on chairs over to the side. If people want to save a spot, they need more than a pool towel. you have to have shoes and backpacks and such. Dats da rule!![]()
We went back to the room and got ready for swimming. We made our way to the pool and looked around for a place to camp out for a few hours. It was very crowded and all the front row seats were taken. Buzz sits down at an empty chair, but the one next to him has a towel on it. I dont know what to do. Where do I sit?Buzz says to move the towel. I cant. I also cant scoot another chair over on the other side of him because I think the life guards would get mad. I could just tell. One kept giving me the evil eye.
The kids head off to play and LeeAndra starts going down the slide a bunch. Im kind of walking around and thinking about getting in the hot tub. I decide to just take an obviously empty chair in the 2nd row and not sit by Buzz.LA has gone down the slide about 5 times. She goes back up the stairs to go down it again. She's so happy!
No one else was on it so there wasn't even a line. She gets to the top and all of a sudden, she turns around and comes back down to us. She starts to put her life jacket on and I could tell shes trying not to cry.
Whats wrong? I ask.
Im just getting this on. (still trying not to cry)![]()
How come you arent going down the slide?
Because I needed a break. (still trying not to cry)![]()
Who told you that!? Now Im mad. There's no way she decided that for herself- someone must've told her.![]()
That guy up there. She puts her life jacket on and gets in the water.
Now Im not one of those parents that gets mad when someone instructs or corrects my child. (My brother is) Im a strict rule follower myself and I firmly believe that if my kids need to be corrected and I dont see it, then by all means, correct them. But within reason. This, to me, was not reasonable. She wasnt hurting anything by going down the slide-there wasnt even any other kids going down it.She was the only one on it. They might not have realized it, but we were watching her too!
I look at Buzz and said, Thats absolutely ridiculous! Shes only been down it about 5 times. No one else is even on the stupid slide-shes not holding up a line or hurting anything! Did you see her trying not to cry? He made her almost cry!
I continue raving on like this, knowing the outcome. Buzz stands up, puts his shirt on and heads up the slide stairs. Yup. Exactly what I wanted. He's so predictable.
Heres the encounter as told to me by Buzz:
He approaches the life guard at the top of the stairs.
Did you tell my daughter she couldnt go down the slide??? Getting right up in the guys face.
Uh, well, uh, ah er. Yeah.

One of the life guards called up and told me she needed a break.
Which one! Again, not a question.
That one. Buzz spins around and goes to see the Baywatch wanna be lifeguard chick.![]()
Why did you tell my daughter she couldnt go down the slide!
Now she stammers and hems and haws. She gives Buzz the excuse that it looked like LeeAndras head was too close to going under the water and she thought it was because she was tired and after all, she didnt want her to drown. (as if we did!)![]()
Buzz turns around and walks away. The life guard calls after him, She can go down now! Buzz just shakes his head.
So he calls LA over and tells her she can go down the slide, but now shes too scared to go down so Buzz goes with her. All is well again. Builds up her confidence. We swim for an hour or two, then head back up to get ready for dinner. Buzz calls Dominos for the kids and I try to straighten up the room. Buzz squeezes in some sleep time and I give Trey a bath, then start getting myself ready for our first night out!!
Coming up: Our First Date Night-Does Buzz Chase Any Squirrels?? Linnie Kisses a Prickly Mickey!!
But thanks to Buzz, that picture is already posted....![]()
Going off topic for a moment to tell Heidi, "I LOVE your new signature photo."
Hi, Linnie! Thanks for the hijack!
Powertripping lifeguards!
Me too!Me thinks the GC needs to hire some new life guards![]()

Dude those life guards...not cool...not cool at all. They are supposed to be creating magic...not taking away from it. Poor LA...trying not to cry. I hope she got a big hug out of that. Here is one for her![]()

OMG What!!!! That's ridiculous isn't the slide there for kids to slide down on Good on Buzz for saying something!!!
I agree.
I'm a relatively passive person, but I would have complained, and if I wasn't listened to, I would have sicked HHBG on them.
Those lifeguards needed a life. THey just didn't want to have to work, and since LA was the only one there, it was easier to just have her not go on the slide than to watch her.
I think the way they handled it was bad. But if they did they think she was getting tired than I say they were doing there job. Hard to believe but I was a lifeguard in my teens and it is tough to do. You get angry parents alot.
But like I said it really could have been handled better by them approaching one of you and not scaring her to the point of tears and for that I would have complained to the manager.
we got a preview of a pic coming up.

That's crazy. I'm glad Buzz said something. I get really mad when people correct my kids in front of me or pull dumb stuff like that.![]()

I need to get braver!!I don't get the mindset that thinks leaving a towel on a chair is somehow "saving" it?! I'd have moved the towel too
Lisa said:AGAIN, he's sleeping?!
Lisa said:Yeah, saw that, it's a great picture, Linnie! Very Disney-ish
And once again, I had to run in while wearing my swimming suit.![]()

you're probably still steaming about it when you think of it (I would be, too) -

I've had a small crisis going on around here, so I haven't been on much this week. But now I'm caught up.
