The Woman Report- Update 4/24 Final Thoughts p. 74

Hi Tracy! I love your new siggie with Mickey! :goodvibes I have alot to catch up on over on your TR. But I will, I promise.

Can't have your precious little angel looking like she is not so angelic.
I do have a Disney kitchen. I figure if I spend a lot of my time in there, I might as well have it remind me of my favorite place on earth.
My family is happy, because I do cook more now.:thumbsup2

Great idea-maybe that will get me cooking again! :thumbsup2

That is one of the most precious things I have read on the DISboards. I absolutely love it. Maybe Jesus is driving grandma and grandpa around in the Trailblazer :thumbsup2?

I would LOVE that!!! Thank you!!!!! :goodvibes

The Disney Store.com has a Mickey Platter amost excatly like the plate! :cool1: its on sale for 14.99. :teacher: I wanted to paste it in, but my mouse wont right click at the moment.

I will check it out! :thumbsup2 Spending more of Buzz's money...always a good thing. I mean, gud thing.

California Adventure!

When we woke up the next morning, I felt like I’d been a punching bag for my daughter. Knees and elbows punched me all night. And she’s got some sharp ones. Buzz was griping saying he’d been sleeping with a Human Heat Machine. Trey loves to snuggle and he puts off a tremendous amount of heat. Maybe this 2 Queen Sized bed room isn’t such a good idea!

I got up, got out my dreaded contact case and opened it. My contact was folded up like a taco shell in the case. It dawned on me- my contact had been inside out! No wonder it was so painful! I told Buzz and of course, he had to say, “Ip Dip! So I put it right outside out, stuck it in my eye and boy did that ever feel better!! I’m ready to go now!:cool1:

We head downstairs-Buzz wants to get a coffee from the bar where he got the wine the night before. We get our steaming hot joe, take some pictures and leave. There is a private entrance for hotel guests. I think there might even be more than one, but we always used the same one.

It’s so nice-we have no bags, no stroller- no reason to stop at the security table. It’s so liberating. We just walked right through-a first for us. We admire the sites along the way. We see Soarin’ Over California, what appears to be the River Raft Ride also what looks to be a playground area. We’ve got about 10 minutes so we sip our coffees and chat. We’re the first ones at the rope drop so the CM comes over and asks our kids if they’d like to help him open the park. Trey does not. LeeAndra does. Two others join her.

So when the countdown starts, he shows the kids what to do and they help him with the opening. It was pretty cool! We threw our coffees away so we can do that fast-walk (that Disney safely allows) to California Screamin’ but we didn’t need to walk that fast. There’s hardly anyone there and we walk right on. Trey’s getting a little nervous, but I rub his back up and down really fast and grab his hand, acting real excited (which I was). When I act real excited it helps him calm down. We get right on the ride and away we go!!

It was so fun! Trey and LeeAndra screamed the whole time!! Buzz said to LA, “Baby, you did some California Screamin’ and it made us all smile.” It was great! We got off and got back on again!! Screaming the whole time again! We got off and got back on again! Three times in a row. After that, I suggested we do something else, my stomach was starting to feel queasy. If I would’ve rode it again, I definitely would’ve thrown up.

We head over to Hollywood Hotel. We kept calling it that because the kids are really scared of Tower of Terror (thanks to me). I hate that ride. We thought calling it a different name would fool them. LA hadn’t figured out it was the same ride, but she noticed the similarities. Trey knew immediately and while we waited, he started kind of moaning and whining nervously. People around us were really nice and told him it was not that bad, he’d be ok, the waiting was worse, etc. The pre-show was shorter than the one in FL.

It went great. I rubbed his back and talked excitedly to him, which again, calmed him down. We all got through the ride fine. For some reason, it seemed less scary to me, but Buzz disagreed. He thought it was the same.

From there, we head over to Soarin’ Over California. Is that the name of the one in Florida too? Because we all just keep calling it Soarin. Anyway, the inside of this ride is much cooler than Florida’s version. The walls are lined with pictures of planes, aviators and information. Totally kept us from being bored, although the wait was extremely short. I actually could’ve used some more time to look at the pictures. I liked this Soarin better than FL due to the queue area! Much better!!! :thumbsup2

DM you must use your imagination for the pics. :rolleyes1

How lucky were you to be able to ride 3x. I would have been happy to ride the WDW ride once if it had not quit on us. :sad2:

So which hotel do you like better, I know Butt likes DL better. :confused3

How fun to get to ride three times in a row. I know why you had to stop though. Alek and I once rode the Alpengeist at Busch Gardens 6 times in a row and we could not walk straight when we got off, we were so dizzy and our stomachs felt upside down. It was worth it though, so much fun!

How did the kids end up liking Hollywood Hotel? I know you said Trey was anxious in line but did he end up liking the ride?

If I every make it back there I will stay at that hotel for the easy entrance to the park.

Great she got to open the park. They should pick adults too.

That is great you rode it 3 times. I watched the video on youtube last night, that is one serious rollercoaster.

I thought the video of TOT looked different or shorter than WDW.

I love Soarin'.

I'm here....I'm hiding from OhMari.....:rolleyes1

That's right. The Disneyland boards are mod free!

I hate to admit it but... I won't ride CA screamin or TOT! I'm scared of both :scared: Good job on getting Trey on TOT. I love DLR, such a relaxed place. Even when its packed, I'm still relaxed.

What a fantastic morning Lin and Trey did really well, so is California Screamin a bit like RnR?

Ooooh, they were so mean!! Not gud.

My kids both had big heads. Trey's worried the doctor a little, but LA's grew so fast she was not even in any percentile ranking. We did and ultrasound and an MRI on it because they were so worried, but she was normal. Just big headed. Part of the problem was I have a small head so the doctor would look at me and get worried about them with their big heads. I tried to assure him my in-laws have giant melons. I even brought in pictures so he could see.

That's hilarious because that's what happened to me! DD6 had such a large head at birth (thus the need for a c-section) and then it just kept growing and growing and growing. They had me bring her in multiple times for "head checks." All I wanted to do is bring my DH in with me -- then they could see where she got it from! He has big problems finding a hat to fit. A regular baseball cap doesn't work for him! Glad to hear someone else has had this problem!

So, what does it mean that my boys got their honkin' huge melons - from me?! I have the absolute worst time trying to find a hat (a non-baseball cap hat ) that doesn't squish my noggin!

OMG, Borg on the big headed children. We ended up having to do ultrasound on DD's head because they thought she'd have hydrocephalus. My grandpa's head was so big he never could wear hats and on my dad's side everyone has big ol' heads too. Her head is LONG front to back too. I never would have birthed it naturally. C-section all the way.

Doh You shouldn't have said anything to Buzz, no need for him to know:rolleyes1

Yeah, I should've kept that quiet! I gotta big mouth!! ;)
I totally forgot about refillable mugs!

No pictures?
Pictures are coming! I was going to do them yesterday, but dyed Easter eggs instead.

We did a list of pros and cons-I'll post it at the end-I love DL, but it has some cons to it! :thumbsup2

I've ridden one roller coaster other than Disney ones-it was the one at New York New York in Vegas and after I got off, I could barely stand up! :rotfl: My brother used to be a big daredevil with rides, but he can't do anything more than bumper cars now and I used to be a big chicken and I'm going on all the scary ones now. My how things change...

Trey liked HH ok. He did fine with it, screamed a little but everyone else was too. When we got off, we asked if he wanted to ride again. LeeAndra did, but he did NOT! So we only did it once.

If I every make it back there I will stay at that hotel for the easy entrance to the park.

I love Soarin'.

That easy entrance spoiled me. After half a day in WDW, I'm usually dying from heat and crabby by the time we get to the car. This was nice to just be able to walk right to our room.

They should pick adults!! :thumbsup2

That roller coaster is scary! I love it!

Soarin' is so great- we love the smells they put in-the orange and pine trees. :cloud9:

I'm here....I'm hiding from OhMari.....:rolleyes1

You're safe here! ;)

I met one of the mods from this board when we were in DL!! Stay tuned to find out which one and how it all happened. It was so cool!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Now you are trying to get Linnie in trouble with OhMari too. :sad2:

Buzz better hurry and get back to his report before he has to start another one........................again. :lmao:

He told me this morning he's dragging his out for 2 years... I hope he's kidding.:sad2:

I hate to admit it but... I won't ride CA screamin or TOT! I'm scared of both :scared: Good job on getting Trey on TOT. I love DLR, such a relaxed place. Even when its packed, I'm still relaxed.
Well, don't worry, they are scary rides! I hate TOT. But I'll try to get Trey on it this fall. We'll see what happens.

me too. I got an announcement today for her. it scared me. :scared1:

:rotfl2:
:rotfl:

What a fantastic morning Lin and Trey did really well, so is California Screamin a bit like RnR?

I think it's scarier. It's outside which scares me more. On RnR, in the dark like that, I can't see what's coming so it doesn't bother me. Seeing how high up we are terrifies me! :scared1: But it's fun!

They thought LA had hydrocephalus too! Having her do an MRI was very scary. I was so relieved it was normal.

Red Wine. ::yes::

A couple of notes here: There is only one entrance from the hotel into Cal Adventure... it was less than a minute walk from the hotel into the park. Guests staying at the Disneyland Hotel and Paradise Pier can also use it.

They ask to see your room key to enter here.

You walk in directly behind Grizzly River Rapids.

Side Note: For those going to Cal Adventure and wanting to ride California Screaming first, there is a second rope drop area that is CLOSER to the ride. It's over by our special entrance. If you enter the park using the MAIN entrance, take a right and walk past Soarin' and continue on until you see the rope.

If you enter from the Special Entrance, the first rope drop you see is the one to race to the rollercoaster from.

Hey Linnie, Great pics again... That is too cool about the "newest CM" how sweet. Gotta luv the pic of MB (aka: the heat machine) "all over Buzz" :lmao:

I bet he was happy you took that pic. :thumbsup2
