The Woman Report- Update 4/24 Final Thoughts p. 74

Poor kids:hug: . I can't believe those lifegaurds. I know they have a job to do, but come on...they're kids:headache:

it's typical of him. The worst part was having to run while wearing my bathing suit. Good grief. I could really hurt something doing that....:rolleyes1

:lmao: :rotfl2: my sister in law when she runs has to hold herself down and when she first did that towards to me I fell on the floor laughing. we were at my 5 year old nieces recital. :sad2: poor kids got an education that day.
:rotfl2:

ACK - I'm two updates behind

Slow down will ya!!!!!!

I'll never be able to keep up at the rate you're going :sad2:

Anyways...I'm tired and heading off to bed shortly so I'll have to catch up tomorrow but I wanted to post and thank you guys for the lovely postcard

Goofy was the one who picked up the mail this afternoon and was all excited to see a postcard from Disney Land :yay:

Thanks for spreading the smiles to the girls

Oh, man. There's certainly a way to deal with that without being rude. Phhbbt.

I hope dinner is good! :goodvibes

I know.... The ones at WDW are so much nicer.

Ha!!! That made me LOL! I wanted to put a laughing smilie there but for some reason the DIS isn't working right. I got my pick of 4 smilies right now, the winking one, scared one, mad one and the rolling eyes one. I wonder what's wrong? Anyway, I don't know which I think is funnier-your sister in law holding herself down or you laughing so hard at it!! Hilarious!!

You're welcome. Get ready cuz it's about to speed up. I'm scheduled for my first surgery on the 15th. Woo Hoo!! (Again, no smilie to put there) Picture Dancing Banana guy there.

I just thought they could've been nicer-they're dealing with kids after all.

Hi Linnie. Those lifeguards certainly don't know about pixie dust do they? What is up with that :sad2: ? They need to be retrained to interact with guests better.

Sweet Trey  , I would think all the confusion on the first slide and the lifeguard not letting him wear the life jacket seemed to throw him off a bit.

I loved the pictures, LA looks so happy going down that slide.

nice pics but the toe is yuck. I hate feet.

Great pictures! They look like they're having a great time :goodvibes

They were!!:goodvibes

Woohoo! Pictures! The kids are so cute but you really need to edit out those big toes! :scared: :rotfl2:

I know-I should've cropped it out! Guess whose it is!! I'll give you a hint. His name starts with a B.

That's what I thought too. They stood there barking at the kids (other kids, not just mine) with those big cone things, I don't know what they're called. You couldn't understand a word they were saying so I don't know they could expect the kids to.:confused3

I love that picture of LA on the slide! :cutie:

Yeah, that's icky. Buzz has some weird looking feet! :scared: I'll crop the pictures next time!

Great pics Linnie! LA looks like a movie star lounging in the sun:goodvibes

That's what Buzz told her too!! :lovestruc

Crabby Trey & A Good Book
I wake up from my nap, which I didn't intend to take, get myself somewhat cleaned up and we head down to Storyteller’s Café. It smelled so amazingly good. Trey was crabbing a little-he always does the first day or so. We were immediately led to our table where we ordered a bottle of wine and waters. Things have to move at a steady pace for Trey or he gets cranky. He was already in a bad mood so we figured we needed to get this meal going asap. :drinking1

It’s at these times that everything seems to move much slower than usual, although it’s probably just because we have a cranky kid along with us. We get our drinks and that helps him. He’s drinking out of everyone’s water, but I don’t care. It makes him happy and more importantly, quiet. We order our food and wait.

Our food is taking a little long and he starts getting owly. We threaten him with all kinds of punishment, but nothing works. I take LeeAndra to the bathroom and when we get back our food is there. Whew! We dig in, down the wine and we’re outta there! It was very rushed, which was ok, but I wished we would've scheduled that dinner for a little later in the trip because I think Trey would've been happier.

Trey ordered the personal sized pizza, which probably said it on the menu, but we didn't notice -it was make it yourself. They brought out the crust and he put the sauce, cheese and pepperoni's on it. I was a little nervous-I wasn't sure he would like this, but he did ok with it. He ate some of the pepperoni's, which was cute and the rest he put on. The guy came back immediately and told
Trey he was going to cook it now, which Trey liked. LA loved the Mickey Head plate (so did I).

I always order steak when we go out. Buzz eats out a lot so he gets tired of it, but I rarely eat out so that's my meal of choice. Tonight was no exception. I can't remember what Buzz and LA ordered. I was much more focused on Trey and getting him through the dinner. Pictures will follow later (I have a dentist appointment and don't have time right now) The food was excellent.

Trey just doesn't do well the first day/night of vacation. But this was such a short trip, we didn't have the time for much schedule changing. No worries-plenty of good times to come! :wizard:

We go back to the room and Buzz announces he’s going to go to the bar and see if he can bring me a glass of wine. I love that man!!

LeeAndra decides to go with him.

I take that moment to take my contacts out. Once that is out of my eye, I rub it like crazy until I see the sparks. Ahhhh. That felt so good to get that out of there. Probably shouldn’t have slept with it in my eye earlier in the day but too late. :headache:

Pretty soon there’s a knock at the door and Buzz is back with a whole bottle of wine!! We spend the night watching t.v. and chatting until we all fell asleep around 9. Buzz with Trey. LeeAndra with me.

I’d like to take this moment to tell you all about a book I bought for this trip. On the plane, it’s easiest to read magazines because the kids are bugging me constantly (and I mean that in a nice way) to get things out of their backpacks for them.

I'd rather be the one to unbuckle and dig through backpacks than let them. And it’s easier on my psyche to put down a magazine than have to stop reading a book. So I buy a lot of ones like People, Us, Ok, Star etc. It’s my indulgence twice a year. Other than that, I never read magazines unless I’m at a doctor’s or my mom gives me some she’s read.

I was at Walmart getting my magazines before we left and I saw the book, Loving Natalee by Beth Holloway Twitty. Natalee Holloway was the girl who went to Aruba on her high school senior trip and never returned. I thought it looked interesting. I don’t read much on vacations, but I do like to have something to read before I go to bed, so I bought it.

I started this book that night and have to say, I’d highly recommend it. It’s nicely written, easy to read and very touching-hard to put down. It does make a person angry while they’re reading it for Beth, who never got justice for her daughter. I can only imagine how frustrated and shattered she must be with seeking justice for Natalee. Excellent book!! Again, hard to put down! So I was the last one up that night but I didn't stay up too late.

Next up: Our first day in the park!! California Adventure!

First!

So, what did you eat at your dinner? Was the food good? Do you have any pics????:hyper: Huh? Huh? We want details!!!! :yay:

The first day of vacation is always a bit hard for all kids, I think. They have to adjust to losing a bit of control over their schedule and waiting for stuff. Glad to hear Trey didn't get too bad.

Can't wait to hear about sleeping with the kids. I know when I try to sleep in the same bed as my kids, I end up not sleeping at all because I'm getting kicked all night! :headache:

There ya go Jodi, I edited my post. I have such a bad memory, and I didn't write down what we all ordered. Just where we ate. The pictures have to come later b/c I have a dentist appt. today. Hope it's a good one....

Oh wait-I think I have time. Photobucket has been slow for me today, but I think it's done uploading my pics. Hold on....

Sorry!
I'm trying to move the first part of this along faster b/c Buzz didn't take many pictures and we didn't do much. The next installment has lots more details and pictures! It should be up tomorrow. I hope.

I think my kids would like to make their pizzas, but then having to wait to have it cooked might be an issue.

Dinner sounds like a success overall! And a bottle of wine and a book sound heavenly! :cloud9:

nice pics but the toe is yuck. I hate feet.

Hey! (to both).

You're doing a gud job Lin.

You forgot to mention the lounge chairs poolside... big huge pads and very comfy. Best part of the pool I might add.

For dinner at Storytellers, I ordered the Garlic Shrimp w/ noodles. Lin totally freaked out. "You can't eat that"... "It's going to be a long night"... "I'm not waiting for you at the bathrooms tomorrow"...

You get the picture.

LeeAndra and I explored the entire hotel before getting the bottle of Malbec for the room (as you can tell by the dinner photo, we're on a Malbec kick).

It's really nice! Three huge fireplaces (one of them outside with lounge chairs) and a huge lobby. Also, a very gud piano player. I love piano. That's why I make Lin play at home. :rolleyes1

That first night Trey slept with me. We were all very tired. We had a good rest.
