The WL/DCL/BCV Extravaganza! Trip Report - UPDATE 1/29 NOT FINISHING THIS

How exciting that you guys got to open the park! That must have been so much fun! Also cool that you spotted Staci there! I loved the pics of you guys riding in the car on your way to ToT!

I love TSM, too! So much fun!

I was so excited when she picked us! I had no idea what we had to do because I'd never seen the DHS opening before so I was a little nervous lol but it turned out to be fun. :)

TSM is AWESOME!!!!!!

Yay! This day was great! I'm so glad we got to meet. :goodvibes And how awesome that you and Joe got to open the park up!! :thumbsup2 I love all of the pics of yall in the carriage, and good job on breaking 100000!! Can't wait for more!

So I made ADRs for our February trip. It was a lot easier than I expected and I got everything I want. Thank you for going back to 180 days Disney, even though NOTHING dining related worked yesterday! :rolleyes1

Friday 2/19 - Liberty Tree Tavern 2pm

Saturday 2/20 - Garden Grill 7pm - Chip n Dale's Harvest Feast
I believe the other characters are Mickey and Pluto :)

Sunday 2/21 - Sci Fi Diner 2:05 pm

Monday 2/22 - Tusker House 9:20 am - Donald's Safari Breakfast :woohoo:

I'm going to be uploading more pictures during my lunch break (we have free wifi in the office) so expect an update later this afternoon if I'm not too busy at work! :)

I think this was one of our favorite days of the trip. We had so much fun. I wish I were back there right now!!! I'm happy we got to meet too. It was so funny that you walked up just as I was saying 'I wonder if Staci's here.' LOL.

TSM is so great!! I'm glad Joe likes Toy Story so much...clearly he's a keeper!! :rotfl: Toy Story is the best!!

All your adr's sound great!! MMMMMM I really loved all those places!! Except, as you know, I didn't try Garden Grill so I'm anxiously awaiting your review on that!! Of course, if its a really good review, that's yet another restaurant to my list!! :sad2: (for the next trip, I mean. Clearly its on the list if I want to set records! :rotfl:)

Are you a salad eater? My mom said that the salad at LTT was tied at first for her favorite meal! Just an fyi...:goodvibes

Looks yummy to me! I have been considering LTT and GG in my plans but I am not sure they will fit in? I am glad Disney went back to the 180 day mark too. I am looking forward to making mine, but I need to settle on them first!

So we left off with taking on TSM for a second time. I broke 100K, woohoo! Well, after that we decided to head over in the general direction of the entrance to catch Block Party Bash. I think we had time to kill and went to see Voyage of the Little Mermaid and then it was time for the parade.

Only...it wasn't really a parade. I knew this going into it. It seems that the majority of people did not. It's basically floats full of characters from Toy Story, Bug's Life, and Monsters Inc and dancers that come down the street, stop, and sing & dance. It was cute but I didn't think it was anything spectacular. There weren't original songs, just generic ones like "Celebration" and being that most of the crowd thought it was a parade, people seemed confused when it stopped and nobody was really into it. :confused3 I think this may need a little re-tooling.

That being said, here are some pictures! The second Toy Story float stopped in front of us.

And then some special guests arrived...

Some more picturse I snapped as it got started up again and went further down the route.

After Block Party Bash we decided to call it a day at DHS. We had MNSSHP that night after all!

Oh, our surprise at guest services! I almost forgot. They gave us an 8x10 picture of me, Joe, and Heather (the CM) on ToT plus a certificate stating that we opened the park and were a 'first family.' Originally the certificate read Jennifer and Jason LOL but they fixed it for us no problem!

Continued...

We went back to WL to get freshened up a bit and change. We weren't going in costume but on my Universal fam I had bought tshirts for us to wear. Bright yellow Homer & Marge t-shirts to be exact! :)

We headed over to the dock and took the boat over to MK. I have to say that feature is one of my favorite things about WL. ;) I love how scenic and peaceful it is.

Why did you have to be closed??

Coming up, our arrival at MNSSHP! How much candy did we get? Did we eat it all? Did we get to see Hallowishes and the Boo to You Parade?

Get that list settled! :) I don't think you'll have a problem making your ADRs. Everybody was in panic mode when it was 90 days and that made it tough but the 180 day mark allows breathing room. I'm well below that and I got everything I wanted! Good luck when you make yours!

TSM is so great!! I'm glad Joe likes Toy Story so much...clearly he's a keeper!! :rotfl: Toy Story is the best!!

Joe loves Toy Story. We went to see it in 3D a few weeks ago and he's so excited for the 3rd one. We even got to see Toy Story The Musical while we were on the ship! That was super cute! :thumbsup2

Are you going to have time to go on the rides on your next trip? It sounds like you'll be in restaurants all day long! :rotfl:

Yes! I saw that salad on the All Ears menu. I want to get it, it sounds gooooood!

So nice they gave you some extra special stuff, Jennifer and JASON.

I'm so excited to hear how you liked MNSSHP!!

Woo-Hoo for getting the ADRs you were wanting!!!! :thumbsup2 That's so exciting. You'll love Garden Grill and Sci-Fi--I've eaten at both and really enjoyed them!

We didn't stick around for the Block Party Bash...it didn't really interest us...

Isn't that boat ride just incredible? We loved it when we stayed at Fort Wilderness when I was in HS.

Can't wait to see how you liked MNSSHP!! :woohoo:

How cool that you got a certificate! You'll have to frame it up with some of the pics of you in the little car.

I can't wait to hear about MNSSHP!

I'm so excited for the 3rd one too! I can hardly contain myself. I almost *almost* wish they had waited and done 1 & 2 and 3-D closer to then, because it got me SO excited that I don't know if I can wait until JUNE!! :scared1: But I guess I can...

I bet Toy Story The Musical was great! I can't wait to read about that! :upsidedow

Hopefully we have short waits on everything like we did this time...nearly everything was a walk-on!! It was great. Nearly all of our meals were this time were ts's and often 3 a day! I really didn't mind...I liked the rest! Okay, okay...I really just like to eat, even if it takes up a lot of time! :rotfl:

That's kinda sad about the Block Party Bash. I would hate to do that and have people not get into it or just not understand. I hope they get that fixed!!

But I'm going to need the MNSSHP NOW.....I absolutely loved it and now I want to re-live it vicariously through you! :lmao: Kidding! Take your time! Can't wait to hear it! :thumbsup2

So we left off with just arriving at MK for MNSSHP. We were so excited! We had been looking forward to this ever since May when we bought the tickets. :) And we were finally here!

WOOHOO! :woohoo:

I can't tell you how many pictures I have of the castle but I never get sick of looking at it!

DSCN0747.jpg

I can't remember if we did any rides first lol but I know we headed over to Cosmic Ray's pretty early on. We had never been here before and wow, do they give you a lot of food! Joe was able to get a rib and chicken combo. I think the OOP price was around $15 but with the DDP, no charge! It had started to rain while we were in Cosmic Ray's. Weirdest thing. It was raining on one side of the building but not the other!! We took our time and got a seat near Sonny Eclipse and watched him for a little bit before the rain let up.

DSCN0748.jpg

After dinner, we started walking around the park and hitting the candy stands! Watch out for wild animals...

DSCN0749.jpg

I really wish I had kept better track of what we did when but I know we just wandered around trick or treating, eating our candy, and going on rides. We wandered by a dance party and Joe wanted in!

DSCN0750.jpg

DSCN0751.jpg

Joe's off to the far right in the first picture with Donald. It looks like Donald is looking right at him! I loved how all the characters were dressed up in costumes. So cute!

We had some time to kill before the parade so we went on HM. There was a woman set up in front of HM, talking to the guests. She told Joe aka Homer that there were no doughnuts inside HM for him! :rotfl:

DSCN0752.jpg

HM is the best. Love, love, love it!

We decided to get a spot for the parade near Frontierland since we were going to make a run for Splash or BTMRR in the down time between the parade and fireworks. I did see the Headless Horseman and I got a video of him but I haven't uploaded yet. I promise a post of the videos I took throughout WDW following the TR.

Day 3 Cont...

It's Boo To You Parade time!

Can I just say this is the BEST parade I have ever seen at WDW? It's amazing. It's long, everyone is dressed up in costumes, the music is catchy and will be in your head for the rest of the night, and it's just so much fun! They even give out candy during the parade. Awesome. Well worth the price of admission. :thumbsup2

On with the parade pictures!

The HM part of the parade...WOW. That's all I can say. There is no better word to describe it. The detail, incredible. My favorite part of the parade by far. Who doesn't love Grim Grinning Ghosts???

Day 3 Cont...

After the parade and I think Splash Mountain, we went over to the front of the castle. It was time for the Villians Meet & Greet. I thought it would be more of a show but they did a 5 minute song and dance number and then the lines began to meet them. It got crazy in about 2 seconds flat so we skipped waiting for them but I did snap a few more pictures of the castle. :)

DSCN0798.jpg

DSCN0803.jpg

We had a little bit of time before Hallowishes so we meandered over to Adventureland and went on Jungle Cruise. I had never been on this at night. Really cool! They had this set up outside of JC. We also went on POTC and stopped in the store to get me and Joe some pirate ears!

DSCN0806.jpg

Time for fireworks! We always end up taking a bunch of pictures of ourselves to kill time before the show starts. :lmao:

In this one we were saying "Boo!" but it doesn't look like that haha.

Hallowishes was good, though we both agreed we've seen better. Joe thought the MVMCP fireworks were better and nothing tops the P&PP display for me. We both enjoyed Hallowishes though.

After the fireworks, we went on a whole bunch of rides, including Buzz Lightyear.

DSCN0821.jpg

There had to be something malfunctioning with Joe's side because he got 999,999 before we had even left the first room. :confused3 Not fair!

We got even more candy (they sure give out a lot of raisins!) and caught most of the parade the second time around. Around 11-11:30 we headed back to WL. Word to the wise, don't take the WL boat at night. Yuck. It's like walking through a cloud of bugs and you will feel GROSS. :crazy2:

As Joe was getting ready for bed, I snapped a few pictures of our room and view.

So nice they gave you some extra special stuff, Jennifer and JASON.

I'm so excited to hear how you liked MNSSHP!!

Yes, JASON really loved it. :lmao:

Woo-Hoo for getting the ADRs you were wanting!!!! :thumbsup2 That's so exciting. You'll love Garden Grill and Sci-Fi--I've eaten at both and really enjoyed them!

Can't wait to see how you liked MNSSHP!! :woohoo:

Is Garden Grill a buffet or is it family style? They aren't really clear about it on the menu. I've eaten at Sci Fi before but it's been awhile!

You didn't miss much with the Block Party Bash!

That boat ride is just amazing. So scenic and peaceful.

How cool that you got a certificate! You'll have to frame it up with some of the pics of you in the little car.

I can't wait to hear about MNSSHP!

That's a good idea! :) I'll have to do that!
I'm so excited for the 3rd one too! I can hardly contain myself. I almost *almost* wish they had waited and done 1 & 2 and 3-D closer to then, because it got me SO excited that I don't know if I can wait until JUNE!! :scared1: But I guess I can...

Block Party Bash just wasn't well thought out. People aren't sure what to make of it. There were a few people dancing and singing but the majority of people had this look like 'I thought this was a parade...?' It stinks too if you have little kids with you and the float of characters they like doesn't stop in front of you.

There are so many movies coming up next year that I want to see! Toy Story 3 definitely and SATC 2!!!!! :yay:

I love love LOVE your pics of MNSSHP! I love all the silly pics of yourselves as you wait for the fireworks! :goodvibes Looks like you had so much fun! I was kicking myself because I didn't go on HM during the party. Thats hilarious that the cm told Joe there weren't any donuts inside! :lmao:

And these all were pretty much me when I saw our mutual friend Sonny!
:cool1::woohoo::yay::dance3::cheer2::banana:

Love him!!

Oh and I totally forgot about SATC2 coming out! I'm super excited for that as well!!

First of all, Garden Grill is family style. It's really, really yummy though!

YAY!!!!! I LOVED your MNSSHP update! :thumbsup2 Yalls shirts are too cute--and I'm sure it was way more comfortable than walking around in a huge costume. Isn't the parade the greatest?! I remember loving it so much. We'll go again when we have kids. Your room pics are so pretty! I think we'd really like staying there. And thanks for the bug ferry tip! :thumbsup2

Great wrap up of Day three! MNSSHP looks like it would be so much fun. :goodvibes I'm glad you had a great time. So what were some of the best costumes you saw? It had to be so warm that night. We are planning on attending though nothing is definite because the 2010 dates have not been released yet but it is traditionally offered when we are going.

Oh, btw, we have a pretty good list of dining choices solidified for our trip. We definitely have DD's birthday figured out. I have been playing around with the :surfweb:dining reservation system using April as our dates--everything I have tried for is opened! I was shocked but I do not know how many obsessive planners out there besides DISers who are ready at 180 days out to make reservations. ;)
