Hey Jen! I've been behind on TR reading and just now noticed you had started yours.

I'm all caught up, though, now and ready to hear more.

Hey Jen! I've been behind on TR reading and just now noticed you had started yours.

I'm all caught up, though, now and ready to hear more.

We were at Animal Kingdom this same day, but the place was pretty busy.....

I knew you'd make it over here sooner or later! :) I should be able to post more updates this weekend.

It seemed like the crowd was always in one spot. The worst I saw it was outside of Tusker House and around the Kilamanjaro area. It would have been nice to run into you. I saw Staci at DHS!

Hmmm...Captain's Grill at the Yacht Club was one of my favorites. What kind of stuff do you like? The crab legs were pure heaven there if you like those. Stay away from the ribeye though.

I do recommend Coral Reef, just get there as close to opening as possible and request a window seat. The wait is only really longer if they've been open for a while. I loved the mahi mahi there.

Most of my other meals that I'm thinking of were either buffets, shows, signatures, or cs's. ESPN Club is good, but by the time you're going football season is over. Maybe if there's another sport you like going on then? :confused3

Definitely agree. Tusker House to Safaris area was just non-stop packed. Wow!

I was about to ask a question regarding later in the day.......BUT.....I'll just patiently wait for the next update :-)

I was thinking about Captain's Grill. We've done Coral Reef before and I want to try some new things. I like a lot of things, big fan of steak; not so much seafood unless you count shrimp, lobster, crab, and calamari. I won't touch anything else that comes out of the sea! :rotfl:

I'm a hockey fan but considering that it's going to be the Olympic break then, ESPN won't really do much for me except provide me with wings!

Way to be mysterious!

Hey girl! I had to come on to at least tell yah I'm here for your PTR! I got *soooo* much to get caught up on!!!!
I just started my job as a travel agent as well and its been *INSANE* I'm going through alot of training and learning and man CODES are the worst HAHA!
Theres so much information haha.. right now learning *every* detail about the Caribbean/Bahamas/Bermuda/Mexico/Cont. USA and Canada!!

AHH! And theres 3 systems we are learning to .. I SOO wish there was only 1!! Do you have any of these:

-Sabre?
-Quest?
-Tech 7?
-ERL(Electronic Reference Library)

Crazy! but i cant wait to get ALL caught up:):)

Definitely do Captain's Grill then!! They had the best crab legs either. I actually only like the same seafood as you, except I've never tried calamari! (I did have mahi mahi and like it though...that was daring for me!)

ESPN doesn't sound like a good choice then...unless of course you are dying for wings! :rotfl:

Well folks, we're going back to the World in February. We hit a withdrawl almost immediately after we came home and decided we needed to go again. We're taking a late Valetine's Day trip 2/18-2/22. Basically a long weekend, Thursday to Monday.

I haven't even begun to think about planning it with writing this TR and having just gotten back from our Sept trip. I'm still burnt out from planning that! But I just realized they're going back to the 180 day mark for ADRs in the upcoming weeks so I need to figure that out soon!

I don't know whether to start a PTR for that trip or just inject it in here a little bit between posts. Probably the latter.

So...ADR suggestions? I think I want one in each park or at a resort close to the park. DHS is already decided because we had an ADR at Sci Fi for last time and never made it because of everything that happened prior to the trip. So we're going to make a lunch ADR there. Suggestions for the other parks/resorts?

Yay! We're going back in April...well, my dad and I are anyway. It's always nice to have another trip in the works. :thumbsup2

Hi!! I was wondering where you disappeared to. I'm glad to hear the new job is going well. There is a specialist exam for N. America I need to study for but...I've been slacking aka DISing. :rotfl: I don't have to take it til the end of next year anyway! We don't use Sabre, our system is Apollo. You're lucky you get so much training. We didn't. There are so many codes on Apollo I don't know! It's kind of a learn as you go along policy here. :sad2:

Calamari is good! I dunk it in a lot of marinara sauce though. I didn't start eating it up until a few years ago. I worked at a restaurant and we served it a lot and it always looked good so finally I tried it. Same goes for reubens. :rotfl: Not seafood related but they're GOOD!

Yay! We're going back in April...well, my dad and I are anyway. It's always nice to have another trip in the works. :thumbsup2

Yay!!! :yay: I can't wait to go back!

So we left off after Kilamanjaro Safari. We decided to walk over to Dinosaur as Joe was getting antsy for this ride! He was convinced we were going to have to fastpass it but since the park really wasn't that crowded (other than the area near Tusker!), I didn't think there'd be much of a wait. Was I right?

On the way, we went on Kali River Rapids. I also snapped a few pictures of Everest.

On the way to Dinosaur, we passed the Nemo show and saw people headed in. We were about to run in when we overheard the CM saying that the show was full. Oh well. We had both seen it before.

We got to Dinosaur and...5 minute wait! Told ya so! ;)

DSCN0634.jpg

That ride is fun but I always feel bad when I see really little kids or older adults on it. They just have no idea what they're in for!

We saw this guy on the way out of Dinoland.

DSCN0635.jpg

After Dinosaur we decided to head over to It's Tough To Be a Bug. I love that you're able to get up close to the tree while you walk inside.

Can I just say I love the the music they play once your inside? All these tunes that are sung by bugs, it's brilliant! And I love all of the broadway posters re-themed for bugs. SO cute!

Some pictures we snapped while waiting for the show to begin!

I had just watched Bug's Life prior to this trip so I was finally familiar with all of the characters. It was the only Pixar film I hadn't seen!

After Bug, we decided to leave. We wanted to spend a little time at the hotel before our dinner (with our cruise/DIS friends) at Ohana! On the way out, I realized I hadn't taken a picture of the Tree of Life yet!

Some little critters on the way toward the exit...

That concludes our day at AK. But stay tuned for WL pictures from later that day. :)

Once we got back to the hotel, we decided to spend some time at the pool! We walked through the lobby first so I could take a few pictures.

I absolutely loved WL. It's beyond gorgeous and it is SO nice to come back here after a long day in the parks. It's just peaceful and the grounds are BEAUTIFUL.

DSCN0653.jpg

This is the geyser toward the back of the resort.

DSCN0654.jpg

It's neat because the water flow starts out from the spring in the lobby (picture on day 1), flows down a little river, over the fall, into the pool, and then to the geyser. It erupts about every hour.

Pool area.

Joe coming down the slide!

DSCN0656.jpg

And passed out later on.

DSCN0659.jpg

Of course I had to take a picture of the bar! :rotfl:

DSCN0660.jpg

We also took a walk through the grounds and spotted this little guy!

DSCN0661.jpg

After spending some time at the pool, we hung out in the room for a bit and then got ready for dinner. We had an 8:20 reservation and aimed to get there for 8pm. We took the boat over to Contemporary...

DSCN0662.jpg

Once we got there, Joe wanted a pic with Sorceror Mickey...

DSCN0663.jpg

We hopped on the monorail and made it to the Poly around 8 I believe. Lainey and Greg (DISers and cruise tablemates) were already waiting at the bar. They were staying at the Poly and checked us in early. I ordered a Lapu Lapu and I believe Joe got a Margarita. I wish I had taken a picture of the Lapu Lapu but it was way too heavy! :rotfl: I had to hold it with both hands. Karen and Gary arrived next followed by Mary and her sister Amy. We all chatted for awhile and we got sat around 8:45 I believe. It was a good thing we had checked in early!

We were seated at the best table in the house! Round corner table with a view of MK. And what did we get to see while we were eating? Wishes! It was awesome. I didn't know they dimmed the lights and piped in the music. Double awesome! We also got to see some of the Electrical Water Pageant Parade which I had never seen before!

Now I wish I had taking food porn pictures for this because I love shrimp and told the server to 'pile it on.' Yeah, he gave me about 15. And I ate all of them. There was just a huge pile of shell and shrimp tails on my plate. :lmao: All of the food was delicious, I tried a little bit of everything. I know that the DIS gives Ohana a bad review but I really don't understand why. I loved it! Good food and even better company. :)

We took the same way back to WL. Monorail to Contemporary...

DSCN0666.jpg

And finally caught the boat back to WL. I do NOT recommend taking the boat back at night. When we got to the dock there were bugs EVERYWHERE. It was so gross. You were just walking through HUNDEREDS of them and I am not exaggerating. Yuck.

That brings Day 2 to a close!

Did we have a little bit of extra Disney magic coming our way on Day 3? Find out soon!

Oh you make me want to stay at the WL so bad!! Its gorgeous. That would be perfect if I make it over for Christmas next year! MMMMM I am so sad I didn't get to try Ohana's...sounds delicious! I understand how you didn't take pictures...some times its just too delicious to not inhale the food!

Can't wait for more! :goodvibes

I'll have to check out that menu too. What have you had there?

Michael had the strip steak and I had the coconut almond chicken. Oh GOSH!!! I'll post pics of our meals later in my TR, but let me just say we were both in heaven!!!:goodvibes

What a fun ending to your AK day! And I really think we might try to stay at the Wilderness Lodge next time. Your pics are just gorgeous!!! I really like the pics of the lobby. If we don't stay there, we'll for sure visit. And it sounds like you had a great time at dinner with your cruise friends!

You should! I can't imagine any resort would be more perfect during Christmas time than WL!

Ohana was SO good. They just kept piling the food on our plates. I loved it!

The pictures don't even do the place justice. It is just so beautiful, words can't even describe it! If you don't stay there, try to go to WCC so you can at least walk around the place and take it all in. I want to eventually stay at every resort on property but it's going to be hard to talk me out of staying there again!!!

It just looks like a perfect Christmas time resort! And any other time! I'm just falling in love with it. I was supposed to have lunch at WCC on our MNSSHP day but we just missed it. Your tr is making me regret it!! I wish I could've walked around there!

Really? We have tons of Travel Impressions stuff all over the office. My dept doesn't work with them as much because we're domestic but the international travel uses them a lot. They'll probably be at our travel show this weekend. Get them to send you! LOL.

I know! There are LOTS of codes. When I first started everything looked like gibberish to me.

Jenny: so happy you're going back in February!! FUN!!!

Your pictures from WL make we want to go there so badly . I just called Jackson to tell him we need to plan a trip and he was like "Okay, who's TR are you reading?" :)

What great luck with your seats at the Poly!!

Bring on Day 3!!

Sounds like a great time at 'Ohana!

Also...you two managed to make it out of Animal Kingdom before the rain hit. Well played....well played.
