The WL/DCL/BCV Extravaganza! Trip Report - UPDATE 1/29 NOT FINISHING THIS

MMMMMM I loved Tusker House. The theming, the food and the interaction were all superb!

Tusker House was definitely a lot of fun. I liked seeing the characters in their safari gear and it's about the only place you'll find Daisy Duck!

I've heard that Daisy is pretty rare, but I saw her on my MK day and I think a couple of other times, but my mom didn't want to meet her ever when we saw her! Apparently she's not a duck fan. :confused3

Jenny: the view from your room is GORGEOUS!

So happy you made it to Tusker on time! Okay, Donald is my favorite and I certainly don't keep that a secret!! Actually Daisy is my #1 and I've been trying to convince DFiance (Donald lover) to go to this breakfast so we could see Donald and Daisy (since she's like, never to be found... :(). Hopefully your pictures will persuade him!!

More day 2 more day 2!

I fell in love with WL. So pretty.

Donald and Daisy are the whole reason I picked Tusker House. Joe and I both love Donald and you never see Daisy anywhere. I saw her during the parade at MNSSHP and at a dance party but other than that she was nowhere to be found! Why doesn't she get the shaft and Minnie gets to hog the spotlight?? :rotfl:

I'm going to upload some more pictures tonight. My wifi connection at home can be tempermental for uploads so hopefully it will work and I'll have another post done tomorrow.

Awww, Mickey looks so cute in his safari outfit! hehe

That's cool that Daisy is there too. I remember when the only time you'd ever see her was in parades...you could NEVER find her in the parks. I think the first time we actually saw her out for meet and greets was in 2005! Now we see her a lot.

i saw her a few times this trip in epcot to the right of the leave a legacy tiles. i think most people make a beeline for the rides so they miss her. there was never a queue :)

Minnie is such an attention hog!!

I saw her more this trip than I have in past trips but it's still hardly anything compared to the other characters!

I must have been one of those people that missed her! lol

:goodvibes I love those fall decorations at MK! I have never seen them in person, though...one day....;)

Joe's WALL-E shirt is awesome! Did you order it from the Disney store?

I loved that picture of the ferry boat in front of the Poly---so peaceful.

I can't wait to read more!

The fall decorations are so pretty. I hope to get out there to see all the Christmas decorations one day. I've only seen them at MK because I went for the party last Nov.

Yup, I got it from the online Disney store last year as part of his birthday gift. He looooooves that shirt!

That's my favorite picture posted so far. It just looks unreal..

Blasphemy! Donald Duck is the BEST! :rotfl:

It was my mom, not me! I have nothing against the ducks! I think she just may not like him because she loves Mickey so much. She tends to do that...excessively LOVE one character from a group and strongly dislike the rest of the characters. Another example: loves Simba, hates Timon and Pumbaa! I love them all!! Disney characters are the BEST!!!!!!!!!

can't wait for more! where's our mutual friend?! ;)

How can anyone hate Timon and Pumbaa??? They're arguably the two best charcaters in that movie. Your mom baffles me.

Sonny makes a cameo in day 3. :rotfl2:

She baffles me too...you forget this is a woman who hated earl of sandwich but enjoyed beverly!

Can't wait for Sonny!! :woohoo:

OH and I agree about Timon and Pumbaa!

"What do you want me to do, dress in drag and do the hula?!"

:rotfl: I love it! I love that whole movie. When my elementry school did it for drama club when I was in 4th grade, I was Nala! :thumbsup2

Jenny---I'm loving your trip report so far. I'm actually going to be staying at WL & BCV during my upcoming trip. And I have a 8:15 ADR at Tusker House so now I know that I'll be able to there on time from WL from reading about your experience. Did you happen to notice if all of the characters had handlers with them when they were circulating? I will be there solo and wanted to make sure I could get a pic with them.

Thanks!

I don't think Beverly is meant to be drank like a normal can of soda. I think it's only supposed to be something that cleanses your palette between courses. There should be a warning on it! That being said, Joe didn't think it was so bad either. :scared:

I looooove the Lion King. I saw it 3 times when it first came out in theaters. I have the soundtrack (on cassette!!! :rotfl:) and I know every song by heart. I even had a Disney magazine, I forget what it was called but it was on the smaller side and they came every month, that had JTT on the cover and the whole issue was about the Lion King! I have yet to see it on Broadway but my sister has and she loved it.

definately baffled now!! lol at remembering that the beverly actually made gary puke!!

Yuck!!!

Thanks! Give yourself a little extra time than I did to get to AK from WL. Most likely, your bus is going to be stopping to drop people off at the Poly & GF too. It made the trip to AK take about an hour. But even if you're a little bit late, you won't have any trouble being seated. The characters did have handlers but they kind of stood out of the way and didn't follow each character around. If you can't get one of them to take a picture, there are plenty of servers there who will!

Ok so I left off with us leaving Tusker House and heading over to Kilamanjaro. The wait was already around 30 minutes so we decided to use our fast passes and got a return time of around 10:15. We had about an hour or so to kill so we decided to see what the line for Everest was like...

5 minutes! We walked right on. Here's a shot of us before our train left the station.

Can I just tell you how much I love EE? Great ride! The theming is spectacular (what else would you expect from Disney??) and the ride is just FUN!

After EE, we had a little more time to kill so we decided to walk through one of the trails. I forget the name of it but it was the one with the tigers & bats. As soon as we walked in, we saw a kimono dragon.

DSCN0596.jpg

OMG, these bats are HUGE!

DSCN0598.jpg

Time for the tigers! I think Joe could sit and watch tigers all day long. They're his favorite animal. They have some at a local zoo and he'll just stand there taking video of them. Usually they're sleeping! lol

DSCN0600.jpg

There was one sleeping right by the glass!

DSCN0601.jpg

After the trail, it was time to go on Kilamanjaro! We were lucky enough to see lots of animals on this trek. :) First, the Kilamanjaro self picture. :rotfl:

DSCN0605.jpg

We stopped due to an animal crossing the road further along so I was able to take lots of pictures of birds! How excting.

Then we saw some crocodiles! LOTS of them!

DSCN0613.jpg

Up next was the savanna and we saw these guys!! :)

DSCN0614.jpg

There is something so graceful about giraffes.

How cute is this little guy?

DSCN0615.jpg

Elephant!!! I love elephants!

DSCN0618.jpg

DSCN0619.jpg

Around the watering hole we go. Look at all the flamingos!

DSCN0620.jpg

And some rhino too!

DSCN0621.jpg

DSCN0622.jpg

I don't know if anyone can see but there's a lion sleeping on top of the hill. It seems like that's all they ever do!

DSCN0624.jpg

Wake up Pumbaa!!

DSCN0625.jpg

That does it for the Kilamanjaro portion of this day. :)

What did we do after Kilamanjaro? Stay tuned to find out!!
