Consider it done!
It was our first time in one of the "wings", we always had lobby view before, which was really nice also. We actually had one of the bear face rooms on our first trip! But that's a once in a lifetime apparently....::yes::

But you still had an AWESOME view from this room. I hope things work out where you can share them on the WL photolink. We would all love to see them. Thanks for posting. Hope you had a MAGICAL trip.:cool1:

:wave2: Hi Everyone!

We are booked and headed to WL June 20 to 27!:woohoo:

I am excited to read through this thread. I expect many questions will be answered as I do, but if you would allow me one before I start reading:surfweb:

Do the balconies have lights?:confused3

When we stayed at AKL the balconies were dark. When we stayed at BC they were lit and you couldn't control the lights at all. I guess they were on timers and were a part of the after dark ambiance.

So how is it at WL? DH and I LOVE our evening balcony time after DS head to dreamland.::yes::

We got our Bearface room ! The trees have grown some since :sad1: so it was hard to see the Electrical Water Pagent- boy was that loud! lol I did love the fact the room was right there and walking out every morning to see the grand lobby was great!
I would want a bearface room again. Once I learn how to post pictures I will... I still need to download off the camera! :)

Looking at several of my photos I don't see any balcony lights. In the courtyard area there is quite a bit light from the pool area and closer to the main lodge there are overhanging lights to light the face of the building.

I does look like the balconies are dark!:woohoo: I prefer that.:goodvibes

As far as DH and I can remember there were no lights on the balconies. DH has a much better memory than me (which isn't saying much), but I think it was perfect lighting with the way the outside is lit by the pool.

I just booked our third WL vacation! Courtyard view, December 5-12, 2009. :goodvibes I'm so happy to have a trip ticker up again. princess:

Duh. My ticker doesn't show because I misbehaved last week. :(

We just got back from the Lodge.. Stayed 8 nights.. We were travelling with another family. We requested Bear Faces.. Did not get, but did get surprised with connecting rooms.. That made it nice..

Had a wonderful time.. We really enjoyed the lodge.. Would return again..

Was suprised about how many soccer groups were there, some groups were very ignorant..

Mousekeeping- I was not pleased at all.. Had to make several requests- i.e. Vacuuming, coffee etc.. But we did not let it interfere with our wonderful time. I even stopped by the front desk a couple of times.. No help at all..

Will try to post a better trip report, to include a "scary" photo that has some dude behind our kids on the bridge in the lobby that i cannot explain.. Just have to figure out how to post a photo..

We are back from our trip! Our WL stay was PERFECT! Our room was very nice and the location was great! Room # 5085! It did get a tad bit noisy from WCC in the evenings but we didn't mind! We had no complaints about Mousekeeping at all! Had a cleaned up room each day when we returned from the parks and even received several towel animals! The girls LOVED them! We ate a lot at roaring forks! The food was fine but we soon grew a bit tired of the somewhat limited selection! The pool area was AWESOME (yes we did swim a couple times!) We also enjoyed very much watching the EWP from the beach one night! Transportation was great and easy to use! The bus to MK was so quick and we loved having the option of the boat! Such a nice ride! I would be very happy to answer any and all questions! :thumbsup2

Well after reading most of these post ive decided to book a wilderness lodge trip.Weve been so undecided in the last few weeks trying to decide on where to stay again. But this post helped me alot, thanks. Now i need to decide on what view and room to ask for.

We're just back too! All was lovely, except for Mousekeeping issues.

We were in room 5032, which we've had before (I just requested North Wing, high floor, this seems to be our lucky room). Love the perfect view of the castle, the Contemporary, the monorail and the water and boats through the trees.

The downside is that it is across from the elevators and so we experienced lots of bellowing inconsiderate people during my son's naps ... excited little ones never bother me but their parents, oy, need some manners lessons.

Our room wasn't ready until 5 p.m. When we did get in, there was a nasty smelling, very wet stain in the middle of the carpet. The manager on duty had zero interest in moving us. A man came with gloves to try to figure out the source. He only determined that Mousekeeping had used an organic cleaner on it. He cleaned and dried the carpet. Then, I pull back the sheets so my son can rest ... there's a brown stain on them under the pillow. Alarm bells are going off about the norovirus and insufficient cleaning at this point so I talk to the manager again. He tells me a deep cleaning involves the room being blocked off for 3 days. Again, he said there was nowhere to move us. He offered a VIP cleaning and assured us the bedding would be changed that night and every day.

The next day, we return at 2 p.m. No VIP cleaning, in fact the room hadn't been touched! My son needed to nap so I told them we couldn't get service right then. We left the room at 6 p.m. Mousekeeping told us they clean before 1 p.m. from then on. Only they only actually complied one day of our entire vacation. Sometimes we'd come back from dinner to a clean room and sometimes not.

Also, the VIP cleaning was a crock - my son spilled a drop of hot cocoa on the sheets on day 2. It was still there when we checked out. I put something that formed a film in one of the glasses and the glass was replaced next to the ice bucket with a line of film; clearly it had been merely rinsed out and returned. I'd wash those glasses before using them (not just at WL - anywhere)!

But we didn't get sick, like I fully expected! It was a bit annoying, the worst part was not getting into our room until 5 p.m., but I feel that my experiences must have been outside the norm.

Bus service was good. We spent a goodly amount of time relaxing in the splendid lobby. We enjoyed the pool. WL makes a peaceful retreat from the parks.

If you have any questions, please ask.

We are planning to take some breakfast food with us. I'm pretty sure that I read that you can buy milk at WL. Can you also buy flavored coffee creamer? Thanks!

We just returned from a 7 night stay at WL, room 4137. Inner courtyard. Anyone on the fence about this resort....go for it. It was amazing. For our last 3 trips we stayed at different resorts and said we would continue to do this until we have stayed at all. But I think that will never happen cause we are now hooked on WL and say we will book there for our next vacation. We were able to see SOME of the fireworks from Wishes, the electrical parade every night, and the view from our balcony was incredible. We ordered a few snacks and sandwich things from Garden Grocer, they arrived before we did, but bell services refridgerated what needed to be and delivered to our room our order once we checked it. The staff was out of this world, we have no complaints and totally recommend this resort to anyone.:thumbsup2

Our room for out trip this past August was 5087...right next door. I agree about the noise. You could hear it until about 10:30 but it didin't bother us either. I think the only time the noise may bother a family is if they have real little ones and they are trying to get then to sleep early. If you have the TV off and it is real quite in the room you can hear the noise pretty clearly.

I love this room location. I love opening up the door to the lobby. I also love being so close the the small seating areas on the 4th and 5th floors that have there own fireplaces.

Hello All!! Going to the Wilderness in 34 ish days. CANT WAIT. :cool1:
I have one question. The Bike rental. They have one that fits four people. Is it my understanding that in the front you could put a toddler? That is what it looks like. Just want to confirm this. Thanks everybody!!

Yep - there is a basket on the front that can fit 2 kids. Our 4 year olds fit fine. We loved the bike rental (It will be in my trip report soon....)

We are staying at AKL right now, but thinking about changing to WL Courtyard with bunk beds. Can anyone tell me about the boat to MK and where else it goes? Does it start for the EMH hours in the morning? We would just love to roll our double stroller onto a boat and hit the monorail.

The boats don't start until a half hour before park openeing, so you will probably have to take the bus.:thumbsup2

Hey thanks for posting the picture of the bikes. Just made my daughters day. Of all the things to do at Disney , she cant wait to get a bike! My legs are still aching from peddling over Hilton Head a month ago!
