The Wilderness Lodge FAQ (Part 6) Simbas and Tiggers and Humphreys OH MY!

Im at work so I dont have time to go through the thread, so this may have been asked so I apologize. Does anyone know if they did away with standard view rooms at the WL? I can't seem to get one no matter what dates I plug in
I just booked a standard view room yesterday for our trip in July. It came up on both the website and when I talked to a CM. I even got a AAA discounted rate on a standard. With the 7 for 4 deal being extended, I wanted to be sure I got my room booked now - before everyone else started calling about that deal!

Thanks for the info. Im not trying to book the 4/3 deal because Im a passholder waiting for those rates. So when I search, im searching rack rates and have been since December for May! They never showed up to begin with (but everything else does) I'll have to call when passholder rates are released!

Were you looking through the passholder portion of the website? I tried that and didn't have much success either. I looked on the regular website just to get an idea of pricing. I'm waiting for AP rates too but at least I'm booked with a AAA discount if nothing else comes up. I plan to price out the 7 for 4 deal when that comes out as well but I think AAA will be a better deal for us.

BTW, it's my understanding that there are only 48 standard rooms in the entire lodge. It's no wonder that they go fast!

Thanks for all the great info.... We are planning our 2010 trip and WL is our 1st choice!!!! We fell in love with it when we ate dinner at Artist Point in 08!!! I love all the pictures and info on this thread... though I had a hard time finding it!!!!

Anyone have any more tips let me know!!! :thumbsup2

On the WL FAQ thread someone asked & I found this link that shows a list on the dining plan confirmed snacks thread that shows they do have it in the mercantile.

Aaa won't work because I always add the DDP so right now it's a waiting game. I don't mind paying for woods as long as it's within my budget so well see my heart is set on the WL so I hope it works out!

My family was Flag Family on 12/14/08. It was a truly wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it to everyone! What a fantastic view from atop the Wilderness Lodge, very cool! Ranger Don had my 6-year old son assist him in raising the American Flag then we did the Pledge of Allegiance after. Ask for availability right at check-in and good luck!! :)

Do they still do the Flag Family???

I've tried to look back through this thread and find the answer but there are too many pages. I have booked an CY view with bunk beds and requested innner courtyard..Are the bunkbed rooms spread out all over the CY view rooms are just in a specific location.

I admit I haven't read ALL 187 pages yet ;) so I apologize in advance if this is a repeat question. We are spending Presidents Day weekend at WL (can't wait! :cool1: ). We are checking out on Monday and are planning to spend the day at EPCOT before heading home later that afternoon. Can we leave our luggage with bell services for the day after we check out and use the transportation system? Or will we have to leave our luggage in the car and drive over to EPCOT? We have only stayed on property 1 time several years ago, and I'm not sure how these things work. Thank you in advance for the info!

We do this exact thing! Call them the morning of your departure and you can even leave the luggage in the room if you'd like! One time at POP, they even said we could leave the room and they would come get the luggage! We picked it up later on in the afternoon and were on our depressed way!

Just got back on Tuesday! Sorry for the late posting, but have been catching up on work, housework, bills, etc.

I cannot say enough about our the WL. We had a great room, great service, the week at the parks was wonderful...low crowds, in my opinion.

I have LOTS of photos and will try to post a trip report between tonight and tomorrow.

I'm so sorry I had to leave :(

Thank you so much for the info! I can totally relate to the going along on our depressed way  ...even though we live here in Florida, we haven't been to the World in 2 years! I'm hoping to do the bounce back and apply our tickets toward annual passes, that way I can FORCE DH to come back more often LOL! Thanks again!

How many outlets are in the rooms? I am contemplating on if I need to bring and extension cord with me. I will have ~7 things to charge. TIA

We are planning our very first stay at the WL in May. I am so excited as I have always wanted to stay here! Anyway, a quick question for you experts... we have a breakfast at Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club at 1015am one morning. What is the best way to get there from WL without a cab (We have a child who wont have a carseat), and how much time would you allow? Thanks!

I would go boat to magic kingdom then bus to beach club...I would say 90 mins. That would be probable worse case scenario. It will likely only take you about 45mins or so but all it takes is to just miss that one bus and your time is multiplied. And if you do get there early you can check out stormalong bay or take a quick walk around the boardwalk.

Are there still jr. suites available at WL? Does anyone know what they cost? This is my dream resort but we are a family of five, and I just don't think we can swing two rooms at Christmastime when we're going. Sigh.

Do they have fridges in all standard rooms, or any room for that matter (obviously excluding the villas)? Or do you have to request one to be in your room?

Thanks!
