a Good Morning BUMP :surfweb:

Good morning!! 40 more days!!!

Has anyone done the photo shoot at WL? I've been going back an forth about it. I think it would be great to have nice pictures of us in the beautiful surroundings of WL!

10 days until we arrive at the Lodge!
Anyone have reviews, advice about dining at the Roaring Forks. the last time we were there was about 11 years ago so i am sure they changed and i do not even remember eating there. We are thinking of using our counter service credits for a big breakfast. any info would be great.
Still debating on getting the refillable mugs. we are only there 4 nights.

We just got back from our two-week trip very late Saturday, and I'm just now catching up.

We were very happy to catch the transition from standard Lodge theming one day to total Christmas the next this time. Every previous trip had been in December, so it was great to get the best of both worlds this time, plus the magic of the overnight change!

It was great to see many CMs that we've known from past trips, and to see the Lodge itself and experience the majesty of the lobby one more time. My parents were along for this trip (their first to WDW), and it was great to see the expressions on their faces as they entered that lobby the first time. :goodvibes

The food at RF is good although there isn't a very large selection. Here is a link to the menu:

My best advice is to get there on the early side for breakfast. It does get very crowded in the morning. My wife and I liked to get to breakfast between 7:15 & 7:30 the latest on days when the park opened at 9:00am. This gave us time to eat...take a short walk after breakfast and make a pit stop back in the room and still be at the park for rope drop. The line would be out the door of RF on some mornings after 8:00am.

WL photo shoot??? tell me more!

There is a photopass photo shoot, there are threads in the resort photos area about it. You can actually have it done at any of the deluxe resorts from my understanding. We were going to do it at GF this past march but we love WL and think the setting is much more our style! I thin it's $100, but I could be wrong, and you get a certain amount of time with your very own photopass photographer. They take you around to different locations and do the photos.

I keep going back and forth with myself about it! LOL!! The thing is if we went to Sears I'd end up spending at least $200 on pictures and no have the majestic background of WL, so I don't know why I'm hemming and hawing!!!

I believe, again I could be wrong, you can make a reservation for it 30 days out.

RF is a mob scene in the morning!! I was truthfully shocked that it isn't bigger! But that's after having stayed at AKL, The Mara is HUGE! We really enjoyed sitting outside for with our breakfast from RF, it's so relaxing an a serene! You do have to ignore the birds though!!

I'm a little confused as to bus service at Wilderness Lodge. We're staying there in 13 days and have seen conflicting reports as whether the lodge shares bus service with anyone else. Does anyone know that's been recently?
thanks

The deal on the WL bus service is this...

There is a DIRECT bus between WL & MK.

Every other destination that you need to get from WL shares bus service with other resorts. Most of the time it is with with FW or GF.

OK! WL experts, I need your help! My family drinks a lot of water! Sometimes between the 4 of us we go through about 2 gallons a day! I've heard that water at WDW is not that great! :confused3 Should I order water from Garden Grocer or does the store at WL sell bottled water? Thanks! :)

I think you should order it. I drink a lot of water also and although the resorts sell it, it is much less expensive to order it - but GardenGrocer charges $12 or $15 for delivery, so unless you are ordering other stuff as well it most likely wouldn't pay to get it there... I usually get fresh fruit and cheese as well as coffee and water and that is worth odering for me. Their produce is perfect and very fresh....

We stayed at the Grand Floridian last trip and at at the GG for breakfast and it was not too crowded so i will alter game plans. maybe one of us will get up and go down and get breakfast ahead of the other :scratchin

I'm staying at the VWL for the first time in 8 days

How long will it take to get from Orlando International to WL useing DME? What resorts share the same DME loop was WL? Is WL first?

I'm always torn between hoping to be the first and last resort on the loop. I want to be first because im anxious to start my vaca, however I enjoy catching a glimps of each resort.

I assume that this is the same service you get at the parks? We have never used that, tho the one at the WL is a tempting thought. However, we are arriving in 5 days, so I bet we have missed out on booking. Do you know a number we would call to find out?

All the info is in the first post of this thread, It's the same as the photopass in the parks except you get a session not just or 2 photos.

If you scan through this thread You'll find bunchs of beautiful pics from the photo sessions, not just at WL.

I think I'm going to go for it, but then I have to figure out what we're going to wear!

I would go to Costco . com and order water on there. It is %5.72 and shipping is included for a 24 pack. It is my understanding from other people here, that you do not have to be a member! I am ordering it 4 business days before I arrive and having it shipped to the resort!
