We just got back from our first stay at the lodge and we fell in love. Not just with the lodge itself, but with their pillows . I would like to order them, but, the website has 2 choices. Does anyone know if the pillows provided are the down alternative or the magic gel? Any help is appreciated.

It is the one shown on the pamphlet in the room. It is the disney resort collection website.

I would call the Lodge and ask for the director of housekeeping. They would know as they would still have new ones in boxes.

That is so great to know. My DH has a hard time with pillows...but these sound great. Another thing not to worry about.

Courtyard View Overlooking the Villas:
There are Courtyard View rooms located in the south wing that face south and have a view of the Villas and the smaller Hidden Springs Pool. The rooms also have a view of the forest between the Lodge and Ft. Wilderness Campground.

Without specificing inner - you may end up with the above.

Hi everyone! We just switched part of our stay to WL. The information on this thread has been so helpful!

I am wondering if anyone knows if you can order in room dining from Artist's Point?? NOT off the regular in room dining menu. Has anyone done this? I know it is possible at the GF (for instance, you can order for in room dining from Narcoosee's) and am hoping this can also be done at WL.

Sounds great, right? Well, I have a read a couple of trip reports where people have done this. The in room dining menu seems to suggest this may need to be pre-arranged (48 hours), but at least one poster was able to do it the night of. I believe her son was ill and she went to cancel their reservation and the host informed her she could simply order their meals for in their room. Maybe they normally require advance notice, but seems like it is possible there...

Just received an email from a manager at Artist Point and he stated that it would not be a problem to fulfill a room service order from the restaurant.

I also asked if there would be any extra fees and he said just the typical room service fees will be added.

Good question, thanks for asking. Never thought of ordering room service from them!!

Hey, thanks for posting that info about in-room service! I never had even thought about that. Might be nice to take it back to the room, eat it on the balcony

We just got back last night and LOVED WL!

All the CMs were wonderful, dd adored the pool, our room was amazing (4141), and we didn't want to leave!

I'm in the midst of writing up a trip report but I wanted to post a few highlights.

• We had early reservations almost every morning and the transportation worked great. One morning we had to be at the Grand Floridian by 8am and we grabbed a boat to CR and then the monorail over to GF. The other mornings we had before park reservations at Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom, both mornings we took early buses that got us to the parks in plenty of time. One note, concierge was a bit confused about when the buses were running but the bus drivers were very well versed. Basically buses start running at 6:30am to ALL parks no matter between EMHs, etc.
• The CMs were amazing. At check in one gathered a bunch of them to serenade dd for her birthday (while she hid under the counter edge) and all the other CMs we encountered were gracious and helpful.
• One negative that I spoke to the concierge desk about and plan on writing into customer service about.... when waiting for the boats at MK to return back to the WL you must stand in the direct sun. There is a fairly elaborate metal framework standing there, but no covering over it. It looks like it should be covered w/ some kind of canvas, etc. After a morning walking around the parks in the heat of July, the last thing I would expect is to have to stand in the blistering sun while waiting for the boat. Dd and I opted for the bus on these occasions, mostly because we could wait in the shade. I find it extremely odd that these boats go to all Deluxe resorts (except Fort Wilderness) and they make the guests going to these destinations stand out in the sun.

I'm going to get working on my trip report. Dh is going to download my photos tonight...I hope. Dd had her own camera so we have lots of great photos of the details around WL! How many bus signs do you want to see?

I've been wondering how you'd get from WL to places like Poly or GF -- I'd never thought about taking a boat to CR and then hopping on the resort monorail. That sounds doable; not quite as convenient as being on the monorail, but then WL doesn't cost as much either, right?

Is there a way to get to the TTC easily?

I'm nuts -- I'm planning my NEXT trip in my head while I'm still planning for my first WDW stay this December -- but WL sounds like it would be a wonderful choice for Nov or Dec because of the holiday decorations/theme. I just want to be sure that it's still convenient to get different places!

I booked a Courtyard view room with a request to 'face' Bay Lake (not just a 'view' of Bay Lake). I ended up at the tip of the south wing facing Bay Lake. I was very VERY pleased! Awesome room but obviously not 'inner' courtyard. (3167)

Thank you! I think we will probably be spoiled rotten after the Polynesian, but that still sounds pretty doable to me -- especially if we planned to spend most of our time at MK or EPCOT.
