I am very interested in hearing recent feedback on the WL club level too. Any and all details are much appreciated!

And now a question about room requests, we are booked into a deluxe room. Do any of those rooms come with Wishes views? For those who have stayed in them (or just those in the know) what would you suggest requesting as far as area/level of the resort for a room request? :confused3

Thanks so much!!:thanks: :thanks:

Regarding deluxe rooms, I made the mistake last August of requesting beforehand a room in the North Wing in the "000" series upper floor, and ended up with Room 1000. Shouldn't have been so specific with the "000"!!! Anyway, this room is like a cave: a stone wall view/woods on the sitting area side and woods view off the bedroom side. The ONLY plus was short walking distance to the boat dock and the pool. The room was too dark even in midday and with everything open. This summer, I'll be less specific!:goodvibes

ok sorry if this has been asked/answered, I'm only at post 380 or so on this thread. This will be my families first time at wl and we have a standard view room booked. My question is this: Is there a good floor/wing to request for a standard view room? Are there standard view rooms that may glimpse MK/wishes? like 6th floor or something? and how do I avoid a room close to lobby and/or WCC, I think I would like a quiet room. Not keen on overlooking the freight area, but if I could see Mk, it's a wash! I read the 1st page but was a little confused. We had a CY view w/bb booked but I opted to save $ using AAA rate for stnd view. THanks for any help you guys can give!

The following post was made a few days ago by Desparatelydisney. I then added the information to the first page, 2nd post What room request should I make?

Deluxe Room located in the North Wing:
Ten of these rooms are located at the very end of the North Wing, they will have a woods view very close to the dock with an obscured view of Bay Lake. Some guests have said the horns from the motor cruisers and motor launches coming and going from the docks have disturbed them. The room #’s would be 1000, 1003,
2000, 2003, 3000, 3003, 4000, 4003, 5000 and 5003. (*NOTE: From Suite 5000 you are able to see the Castle and WISHES fireworks from the bedroom window and bedroom balcony. This may change at any time as those tress keep growing every year. Haven't received any reports from Suite 4000 or 3000 but it might be possible)
Thanks. I know it must get frustrating to answer the same questions over and over...yet you do. :) THANK YOU FOR THAT!! I had actually looked at that first...but then I realized since both the north and south wings were both listed as a Bay Lake view I had no idea which one was closer to MK or would give a better possible view of Wishes. As you can tell, I have never stayed at the WL before. Even reading the first post I was still a bit lost. I guess I am just easily confused. ;) I am still a tad lost...would the south wing rooms not have a view of Wishes even though they have a Bay Lake view? SORRY IN ADVANCE for needing so much hand holding. ;):lmao:

I called my request in to the IPO yesterday. I ended up requesting the to be placed in the North wing, upper level room with a Bay Lake view. I hope that was okay. Basically, I just explained to the planner that we would love to try and catch a glimpse of Wishes and that we would love to be higher up so that we could look out "over" Bay Lake. I added that our preference was for the north wing. I am hoping I asked for the right thing. :rotfl: Yes, I do have a mild obsession with trying to work out things in my head and a good does of directional challenge as well. :headache:

The Standard View Rooms are either off the Lobby across from WCC or the rooms located over the service area, you don't really want either location. :confused3

Of the two locations you would prefer a room with a view that you could see the Magic Kingdom. So you should request North Wing, 6th floor. Now the room may have a possible view of the Magic Kingdom, but with the tree growth it maybe a obstructed view.

Good Luck

I think I read in the first few pages that some people complain of noise due to the proximity to WCC. However, having stayed here before I don't remember it being an issue, and I believe we were in a standard room on the first floor then...unfortunately, I don't remember where.

Does anyone want to weigh in on what they prefer? First floor for convenience, or 6th floor for peace and quiet?

TK

Sorry, :confused3 there are no standard view rooms located on the 1st floor. Only the 4th floor over check-in off the lobby, and the 4th, 5th and 6th floor over the service area.

I have stayed in the courtyard view rooms off the Lobby and never had a problem with the noise from WCC, but the standard view rooms are directly across from WCC so it is possible that the noise would be more intense.

Just click on the link below for a layout of the Lodge, the North Wing would be the rooms at the top of the map with the Deluxe rooms located at the every end of the wings.

Wilderness Lodge Room #'s and Locations

While the deluxe rooms in the North Wing face Bay Lake the rooms are considered non-specific views because they could have a view of either the Courtyard or the Woods.

Some of the rooms even though they face Bay Lake may not have an unobstructed view of the lake.

In the rooms 5000, 4000, 3000, 2000 and 1000 the main view would be toward Bay Lake, but the bedrooms are on the north side of the lodge, this is why Desparatelydisney was able to see Wishes. I would think that only room 5000, and possibly 4000 and 3000 maybe able to see Wishes.

The South Wing doesn't have any views of the Magic Kingdom or Wishes because the North Wing would be between them and the MK.

Oh, I totally misread that prior post! Sorry!

When I stayed there, I must not have realized it wasn't a standard view room. At the time, it was an ap discount, and I didn't so much pay attention as to the type of room then, so long as there was a great discount, I was good to go!:goodvibes

So you're saying the standard view rooms are across from WCC?

Truthfully, I know a lot of people give a lot of thought to their room placement, but I'm thinking as long as we're higher up, it won't affect us as much. My last trip I stayed in a preferred room at Pop with people in the pool till all hours of the night, so I'm thinking if I can handle that, I can handle a resort with what I'm assuming to be better sound-proofing.:thumbsup2

We had the honeymoon suite with a perfect view of Wishes. Where on the map was that located?

We had the honeymoon suite with a perfect view of Wishes. Where on the map was that located?

We were in Suite 4000 in Nov. and could just make out Wishes over the trees with a stretch of the neck. We certainly heard it...as it kept me up a few nights. :)

We had the honeymoon suite with a perfect view of Wishes. Where on the map was that located?

The two honeymoon suites that would have a view of Wishes would be 7084 and 7085!! They are both on the North side.

I just looked it up...it was 7085,but we were in a corner room. Does the design of the floor change as it gets higher? We were the last room on that side with another HM suite sharing the corner hall.We had a fantastic view too~ Made looking at rooftops during the day endurable.

The map does have a few errors but for general locations it is good. The 7th floor is one of the floors that has some errors, there are only two rooms on the North side of the Lodge off the Lobby these are the two Honeymoon suites. Only two rooms off the Lobby on the South side of the Lodge those are the other Honeymoon suites.

Beckie

Ok, now it makes sense, thanks!!

Ok... 2 weeks to go---- and I am so baffled at 1) WHAT ROOM TO REQUEST
2) how to request it....

If I have read things right, courtyard rooms would not have a view of wishes... right? we had a standard room, 6th floor in 2003 and could see wishes. but the north would block the south and the north faces away from wishes? right?

and as far as calling vs faxing vs making a notation on your orig ressie... (I did that last one in requesting NON 1st floor with patio--- would get nervous wiht extra entry)
I am confused...

thanks so much for all the help on this and everything--- Jill

Right, Courtyard view rooms do not have a view of MK! You are either looking at the woods or service area. To be closer to the lobby, you have to look over the service area.

I am trying to finish writing my review of the Club Level and I will post it. The Old Faithful Club was just fabulous, we have no complaints at all! The food was wonderful and plentiful, the staff was great all around (Especially Lisa from Scotland and this other guy whose name I can't remember!) Housekeeping was fine, loved the turn down service guy!

I also have pictures, but can't figure out how to get them off the camera I used for this trip.

Hi Everyone,

The husband and I just booked..for Christmas week! Does anyone know if the resort does anything special during this time?
