What's fastest, the bus, or taking the boat to MK or TTC and boarding a bus? Or is it just wishful thinking?!

Also, to get to ecpot, would you head to MK on the boat, then board the monorail?

THANKS!

There are direct buses to both DTD and Epcot. Taking the boat will add lots of time to your travels.

...I'm working on it right now.....;)

Ah, I thought I had missed an announcment on the Jambo thread-I was off the DIS for a few days...I hope you find something fantastic! :goodvibes

Hi there,

FYI, Artist Point took Coffee 2 Ways off the menu a while ago. Sorry.

I do know they have some wonderful desserts. The chef is also going to be putting some new items on the menu soon.

Have a great trip!!

I saw that just last night on allear's menus! :sad2: It did still say it was available for the Chef's Northwest Selection Fixed Price Dinner, so they make it - but just not on the normal menu. I'm going to ask anyway, the worst they could say is that it's not available....hopefully though we will be able to enjoy it again![FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]

We went in May for our 25th. We stayed at 4 resorts.3 at CL. At the WL CL we received a chocolate covered canoe with petite fours. At the CR CL we received balloons with a signed card, at the YC non CL we received 6 huge white and dark chocolate covered strawberries with a signed card, and at AKL we received his and her African perfumes. We wore our anniversary buttons the whole 16 days we were there. Make sure to get them and wear them! The CM's all over wished us happy anniversary the whole time and would stop us and talk to us. We also received free desert at almost all the places we ate and some free glasses of champagne. So have a great time!!:goodvibes

I just found this thread and OMG I haven't done any work for at least an hour (yes, I'm at work but the boss is gone..yea!) I was wondering if you got these because you were at the concierge level or just because you mentioned it was their birthdays?? We're going in less than 2 weeks for our 25th wedding anniversary and this would be a very special surprise to find these waiting for us. Also, is there a post in this thread showing cakes that can be order from their bakery? Thanks so much.

There's some info on the Cakes thread under the Dining board regarding cakes that can be ordered from the WL. So far, I've not found a whole lot in terms of cakes since they don't have their own bakery. I just gave up and am ordering my cake from the GF bakery to be delivered at our Narcoosee's dinner.

We returned last night from 7 days at WL! WOW!! We had such a fantastic time! This resort is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. I will say the only two (minor) negatives were the annoying fans in the bathrooms and the small food court at Roaring Forks. However, I found ways around both! :lmao: I discovered with the fans that if I walked with my back to the wall around the perimeter of the bathroom, I could manage to make it to the toilet without setting off the fans! :rotfl2: It worked well in the handicap accessible bathroom...not so well in the standard bathroom. It became a competition between myself and youngest DD to see who could go in and out of the bathroom without setting off the fans! ;) The way around the Roaring Forks was that we basically only ate there twice! So, not much problem with that. This was our first visit to WL...and will definitely NOT be our last. In past visits, we have always stayed Value...more so because we were park commandos. I discovered after this trip that if we stayed at a more relaxing resort, we would tend to DO more relaxing! We definitely were not commandos this trip! Thanks to everyone for all of the tips and inside info! :thumbsup2

I was just at WL 2 weeks ago, and our bus to DTD was NOT direct? Maybe because it's "slow" season, but it took us an hour, including wait time for the bus, to get from WL to DTD on a Friday morning around 10:30 Am. We were picked up at WL, but made stops at GF and Typhoon Lagoon BEFORE we went to DTD. I was bummed. Is this the norm or are busses usually to direct?

However, I found ways around both! :lmao: I discovered with the fans that if I walked with my back to the wall around the perimeter of the bathroom, I could manage to make it to the toilet without setting off the fans! :rotfl2: That is the funniest thing I have read in a long time. And since we too just returned from WL, I can totally picture this in my head :) It worked well in the handicap accessible bathroom...not so well in the standard bathroom. It became a competition between myself and youngest DD to see who could go in and out of the bathroom without setting off the fans! ;) The way around the Roaring Forks was that we basically only ate there twice! So, not much problem with that. Same here. And we avoided breakfast time. It was insanely crowded in the AM. This was our first visit to WL...and will definitely NOT be our last. I 100% agree with your post. I believe I am spoiled for life now :)

The other way around the crowds at Roaring Forks is to get there a little early. So lets say for days when the parks open at 9:00am if you get to Roaring Forks by 7:30am you should be ok. This is what we did on all of our trips. I know it's a little early for some folks but it worked best for us. This way after breakfast we had a few minutes to relax and walk around the grounds of the hotel and also had time to make a stop at our room before heading to the parks for rope drop. For those people that get to Roaring Forks lets say at 8:10am trying to eat breakfast and still make it to a park for rope drop, Roaring Forks is usually a zoo at that time. I rather get up a little earlier and have a more relaxing experience.

The bus to DTD is never a direct one. I think the post made by burberryplaid meant the there was a dedicated bus from WL to DTD and that it didn't make sense to add another mode of transportation where you would have to transfer from one to the other. I think getting to DTD from any of the MK resorts is a pain in the neck unless you have your own car.

Can't wait i'm going back to WL for my honeymoon April 26th to May 3rd 2009

We went during the same time frame this past year and it was great. The weather was perfect and the crowds were managable. Best of luck in your upcoming wedding! I'm sure you'll be treated like royalty! :)

What views are available in a 2 bd VWL? Are there any views as lovely as the inner courtyard at WL? A 2 bd has become available for our dates and I'll grab it if the views are good!!!! Or what view should I request? Thank-you!

We stayed in a two-bedroom villa at the VWL several years ago. It was a dedicated one, so it had a balcony that ran from the living room to the 2nd bedroom, which was nice. It had a view of the villas pool and we could even see a bit of the water pageant each night (we could definitely hear it all!). We really loved the view. :)

What is the going rate to tip mousekeeping each day? :confused3 We were at the Wilderness Lodge two years ago and most posts then said @ $1. per guest in room.
Does this still hold true? We will be there in a week and I want to be prepared and don't want to short change the mousekeeping staff.:thanks:

for mousekeeping...2 years ago at the grand floridian we left one dollar per person and and extra dollar total $4 or 5 if we were messy and we were always needing extra towels. the first day we saw a note that told us who our mouse keeper was so i addressed the note and tip to her. we were left several treats by mousekeeping towel animals some flowers on 2 occasions. you never know if you will get extras but we were not expecting anything and it just showed she appreciated our tip. i plan to do the same in december... always leave a note or an envelope so they know it is for them!

getting very excited to get back to the Lodge as the last time i stayed there our view included a pink castle cake!
