Sorry, I thought I had written about the Dr Appt.

My Foot dr was very pleased and will let me return to work on the 5th of March.
I have to stay in my boot for another month.

I went to eye Dr today and was told that my follow up visit for Glaucoma was positive and I have to go back in 6 months to be tested again, if I fail again I have to go on drops.

Ok my prayer warriors - PRAYERS NEEDED!!

We got a frantic call last night from Kathy (Doug's Sister) that they were taking Dad by ambulance to Kearney. He has had Vertigo for the last couple of days and now his arm hurts and is numb. We were close behind the ambulance. We got him settled and the Drs. think that sometime in the last year he has had a silent heart attack. His Echo showed a big difference from last year. So at 1 pm this afternoon, they are going to do a Heart Cath. - if there is blockages then stints will be placed - if not then they will place an IED - Pacemaker with a Difbulator. So either way we are worried. We have no idea what to pray for, but please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

His name is Paul. Thanks so much.

Just saw this Ellen! I'm praying for Paul, and for all of you! Here's hoping that the procedure goes well, and the doctor's can fix whatever's wrong!

Afternoon, all! I'm fighting a monster headache today! Don't know why. Anyway, I just dosed myself with 2 Advil and am on my second diet Coke of the day. Hopefully that, and a nap, will do the trick. Alan and I are supposed to go to dinner with at least 3 of Alan's siblings and their spouses. I really want to feel good for that!

Dinner will be at Buca di Beppo. Never been there before, but I'm told it's pretty good Italian.

The kids will be having a leftover night here. We have a ton of tortellini soup left over from last night, and some chili from earlier in the week. Got to clean out the fridge before a new week starts. If they can deal with the leftovers, they get to have ice cream sundaes for dessert.

Hope you all are well and happy!

Ellen, I hope that all is going well with the procedure. Please keep us posted!

Glynis, I have a monster headache today too!! I am on diet coke #2 as we "speak." It's rainy and damp here so I think that is why.

Here are some pictures of what we have been eating this week. Nothing too exciting, as John got a stomach bug on the way home from our vacation and so he's been kind of picky this week.

Rigatoni with asparagus carbonara sauce:

WFD: something with chicken

Nancy - Hope you're feeling less stressed. Mistakes happen and I'm sure Nola is fine.

Becky - Welcome back and nice to see your food porn again!

Alison - Hope you're over the scratchy throat.

Glynis - How is Timmy settling down in jr high?

Marilyn - I've long given up on trying to be good for lent. It never works for me and all I end up doing is feeling more guilty!

Brandi - Good news about your foot dr. Sorry about the glaucoma...did the eye dr say what you could do in the next 6 months?

Ellen - praying for Paul. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

It's been scratchy simple meals here. Life's pretty hectic at the moment and I don't know if it is going to settle down at all this year.

WFD? I'm not sure...need to talk to the boys.

Marilyn - Good Luck!

The end to a hellacious week is here. Thank goodness!

And then today, I came home from work to a surprise from UncleR!

Isn't she pretty and purple? :lovestruc

I used it tonight to make some UNBELIEVABLE chicken tortilla soup. Hopefully, I'll have the blog up soon.

Tomorrow, I'm trying my hand at making homemade ricotta. Wish me luck!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Thanks for all of your good thoughts and prayers. Again - you all came through. We ARE a powerful bunch.

They did the Heart Cath. and found no blockages - Praise the Lord. Brought him back to his room and within an hour he was back in surgery to place just a pacemaker. The Cardiologist was leaving for vacation in the morning so it was done that night. Which in itself was a blessing as Dad or us didn't even have time to really worry. All went picture perfect and they say he will be realeased today. They also don't think he had Vertigo at all but think the dizziness was all due to a heart not pumping the blood correctly. Again a real blessing as this could have been very serious if not corrected.

Thanks so VERY much!!!

I am babysitting today for my boys. I am going to get a LOT of cuddle time in today. Just what I need after the last couple of days. This is Elizabeth's first day back to work so it was really hard for her. She is a hair stylist and will work only on Saturdays. She can make in one day what I can make in a week. :worship: So it affords her to stay home with the boys - at least until they are older. And I love having them - I look forward all week to Saturday.

WFDT ~ T-Bones, baked sweet potato, green salad and garlic bread. Can ya tell Doug is cooking. :thumbsup2

Make it a great day - and Thanks again - you all are the best part of my day!!

Oh Ellen...I'm so glad things went well! Continued thoughts for recovery and healing!

Ellen - Glad that things worked out. I hope he has a speedy recovery.

Jen - Love the le crueset! I love that purple too.

OMGosh. Homemade ricotta is insanely easy. Insanely good. And I'm so proud of myself for doing it. (even though it's easy! :lmao:)

Today was full of cooking. Tomorrow I need to blog and do some work online.

Tomorrow I'm trying a new recipe for cheeseburger pie. Different than the one Glynis posted, and I hope it's just as good!

Hope everyone here is doing well!

Ellen - I just got here and saw your post as well as the positive update! Thank God! I hope that your time with the boys was awesome!

Lots of good pics here and I am going to eat through them. i am back on my diet starting today so cooking will be very easy and Buddy friendly

THe race was canceled yesterday so the guys will be watching it today.

I ma not ignoring the thread, it is just wicked hectic here. I sent Bud's sister a bus pass and hope that makes it easier for her to see his Mom. If she can go a few times a week life will slow down here a bit.

Good morning all,

Nan ~ You all are such a blessing to the family. You do have a heart of gold my friend.

Glynis ~ How did Timmy do at school? I sure thought about him all day.

Jen ~ Your food porn is just amazing. And I love your new purple toy.

Brandi ~ So glad you are doing better and I can't wait to hear all about the cruise.

PIO ~ Congrats on the weight loss. You go girl.

Alison ~ Well one home rented now hopefully the rest will fill up real soon.

Becky ~ Hope your day is going great.

I can't believe I am back to work already. Between taking care of Dad and getting him settled and grocery shopping for him, this weekend just flew by. I need another day to rest. We have a funeral this morning so the Church is buzzing. Not my favorite way to start my week.

I am going to Zumba tonight. I hurt my back so I haven't been back for awhile. I really miss it so I am looking forward to tonight. I will have to go slow but I will keep moving and that is all that counts.

WFDT ~ Tilapia, new potatoes, roasted beets. Doug is on his own as I don't get home till 6:45. So we shall see - but that is what he wanted.

Make it a great day!!

Morning, all! It was a fast, and hectic weekend!

Ellen - I'm so glad that everything turned out ok. I am so glad we can exercise our power for good!

Jen - I'm so jealous of your pot! I love purple (my favorite color), and I've wanted a pot like that forever.

Nancy - You are a marvel! I hope that Bud's sister can use the bus pass and help out sometimes. You are going to need to slow down, once in a while!

Well, Timmy did great at the jr. high preschool!!! My neighbor came and picked him up, and he left with her, without a murmur! That, in itself, was a small miracle. She called me from the school, and said he'd cried for about 5 seconds when she dropped him off. She left her phone number with the teacher so she could pick him up if he got too upset to continue, but it didn't happen. He had a great time. Carol took him for a treat on the way home, and he came in happily sucking a tootsie pop, carrying a diet Coke for me! I love my neighbor!!!

He loved the preschool so much, I told him that once he's completely potty trained, and wearing big boy underwear, we'd look for a "real" school for him to go to. That's really helped his potty motivation!

I took the kids to the local natural history museum on Saturday evening. Alan had some homework to do, so he set up in the museum cafeteria, and worked while the kids and I wandered the place. It's really kid-friendly with lots of hands-on exhibits. We ended up spending about 4 hours in the museum. So much fun!!!

Katie got her hair cut this weekend. It started out mid-back, and now is up around her chin. She looks darling, but oh, so much older than 14. She loves it and has received so many compliments on it. Good for her self-esteem.

Today will be a quiet day. Timmy is fighting a bad cold and fever. He was up most of the night, just burning up. The fever is gone, for now, and he's resting on the couch. I think, though, that he's warming up a nice case of croup. His cough is starting to sound like a barking seal. Good thing we don't have to go anywhere today. I foresee a nap or 2 for both of us today.

Dinner tonight will be ham fried rice.

Glynis, I am glad that Timmy did well at the preschool! I hope he feels better soon.

Jen, lovely photos! I do really like that homemade ricotta.

Ellen, I am so glad that the procedure went well!

WFD: chicken soup and cheddar biscuits. I have a cold. :sad2:

Glynis- I am so gald that Tim did well. They generally do better when Mom is not around to witness the performance :rotfl2:. I bet a preschool will be a great motivator for him. I do hope he gets better soon! Poor kid is getting whallopped this winter

Becky- Feel better soon! This has been a terrible time for colds and bugs.

Ellen- I did not see that you hurt your back, Better now?

Charlene did get to the nursing home today so I am staying home tonight. The girls are both feeling much better today. Rylee is still a little off kilter but Nola is wired for sound. Both are napping so that is good.

Anna is here today. Poor thing started up the truck this morning, forgot she had it in reverse so she got out to scrape the windshield. Truck rolled backwards and she tried to stop it, the door caught her and knocked her down while it went zipping down her driveway, over the center median in their little street, between two pole things and crashed into their neighbors bushes. She is okay but was banged up a bit. Donny was at work and a mess. He sent Dan over to pick her up and bring her to me which is fine, she was shook up. But for a man who is brilliant he sure needs to learn how to communicate with his family. His first call left us thinking she was in need of 911 and that the truck was totaled. everyone knows that if you ask for Buddy to go to a crash someone is hurt and the vehicle needs a wrecker. He also needed to be told not to send a frantic "call me ASAP" text to his brother. Knowing Donnys recent trips to the ER that would have freaked Dan out. DOnny forgets that most of us do answer our phones adn respond to texts ;)

I am not sure what to make for dinner. the race is 7 PM now and I have no idea who is going to be here. I have plenty to pick from so we'll see.
