Sheryl - Sorry you'll have to go through another MRI.

I'm sorry I haven't responded to everyone, have a lot going on.

Ugh. Sounds like he was anxious about his own money problems.

Naw, he's just a spoiled brat! :thumbsup2 He's the baby in the family and mom's favorite. Unfortunately he is too big for me to wrestle him to the ground and sit on him like I used to when he was little. :rotfl:

Tummy's feeling okay now, ate lightly for the most part today.

Happy Birthday Lori!

SHeryl- Too bad about that MRI, but better safe than sorry

Ann- how is the new job working out? Got your card adn your babies are so precious!

Lori- Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kat-

Marilyn- Brothers! :headache:

Becky- your leftovers make my new stuff look a little Hmmmmm.......
Are the kids getting excited? How long has it been since Greg was able to join them in Disney?

Aimee- still hurting?

Lauri- How are you feeling tonight?

Ellen- Was Jay;s visit awesome?

Vickie- better tonight?

Today was a better day with the baby, he is getting used to me and is feeling better so he was a smilie guy!

Thanks for the Birthday Wishes! And yep Sheryl, it's the 25+ birthday this year...;)

Still haven't heard from Mike yet, so we may be venturing out on our own. Rick mentioned pizza... I sincerely hope not.

At least the meeting is over this week and I can start laundry and planning!

Bethany- I did read all of your post and I am heartsick that the visit was as stressful as it was. Lori is right, you cannot choose your family. You also cannot change what they say or how they say it. You can only change how you let it affect you. One thing I did was give myself permission to dislike my older sister. I just plain do not like her and for a long time I thought I could change that but once I realized that the problem was that she was a selfish self centered person who was just not nice I let it go. I don't have to like her simply because she is my sister, now I tolerate her and only when I feel I want to. If your Mom is like mine was then Sheryl is right about how she is not thinking how her words sound, There is no malice there, she just does not censor her thoughts before she say them. I think that is different than some of the behaviors you endured.

I am happy that you made this move, I can see from your posts that you are blossoming there. Your job is not that huge black hole that you were drowning in and I can hear you smiling as you post. Shoot............I even see some food other than PB&J ;) What I am trying to say is that you have your own life now and are thriving in your new home. Sometimes that is threatening to the very people who should be the happiest for you. I don't know why but family will not always be able to encourage you as much as friends can, they are predisposed to see the challenges you may face and try to save you from those obstacles. So geaux get 'em Tigre!

 Thanks. It's interesting you mention drowning at the other job. Not sure if I ever mentioned it, but last year at one point we had a professional development session with an outside group and the principal was NOT in the room. We were told to draw a picture of how the workload there made us feel. Every person, with only one exception, drew a picture of a person drowning. And not one of those people drew any boat or life vest or anything as if there was some end in sight. The lone exception to the drowning pictures was a person who drew a person who had had a pile of bricks thrown at their back and they were collapsed under them.

And yes, more smiles and less PBJ. ;)

:dance3:

Defrosting the Freezer - :scared1: !!! Oh how I hate that job, but it was so bad that I would open the door have no idea what was in there and close it up. It took most of the morning, but it is finished and I now have a list of what is in there. I have decided that I do not have to go grocery shopping for the rest of the year. ;) I had no idea all of the good things I had in there.

We are in the blizzard of the year today. The schools are closed - which NEVER happens. We have 30 mile an hour winds and major snow, with lots of drifting. I just pray the electricity stays on because there is no way I can get to town. I just hope Doug makes it back to the farm later tonight. If not, Cooper and I will make do. Hey I won't starve!! :woohoo:

I defrosted a freezer at work the day we had a half day for Ida. (I don't pull my kids on half days.) What pain that can be. Fortunately it was one of those tiny freezers in a dorm fridge.

I hope the weather isn't too ugly for you. Stay warm and safe!

I think it's wild that half the country is getting snow and we are 74 degrees with 97% humidity. We got a lot of rain last night and I slept through all of it.

Naw, he's just a spoiled brat! :thumbsup2 He's the baby in the family and mom's favorite. Unfortunately he is too big for me to wrestle him to the ground and sit on him like I used to when he was little. :rotfl:

:lmao::rotfl: My brother is too big for that now too. :headache:

Vickie - How's your head? Migraines are evil.

Lori - Happy Birthday!

Augh, I'm so sorry.

WFDT ~ Tamale Chicken Pie, broccoli with cheese and angel food cake with berries.

I need t o go read back and catch up. I will BBL!

Yikes! I hope he is able to make it home and that you're able to keep power! Stay warm!!!

I'm back home. The dr wants me to have another MRI.:headache: I had to admit that I was still hurting & some of the numbness has returned, he wants to check it out with more than the x-ray I had today. bleaaaah.

Oh, I am sorry. I didn't realize it was still giving you fits. Bummer on the MRI. They are usually a piece of cake but I know they are $$$ even with insurance.

Aimee- still hurting?

Sadly, yes. I called to get a refill on my meds but they said I needed a new authorization and they say they have called my GI and are not hearing from them. So I call. Of course they had not been calling, which I figured as much  but since I see him Thurs, and things aren't working real well, we are going to wait and visit on Thurs about next step. May not be worth paying for a refill if he thinks it's time to move to something else.

Happy birthday, Lori!!!

DH went to the game but we are having issues with the car so he took the truck and warned me to not go out in the car for fear that I got stranded. Soooo, I think I'll order chinese.

/
We went to my parents today to put up their decorations.:santa:

WFD- pork chops, apple sauce, peas, and mashed

:dance3::Lori, Happy Birthday!!!!!!:dance3: Hoping Rick was not serious with the pizza!

Glad everyone has been getting their cards. Now you all can put faces with my stories. Gretchen your comment about DS looking like a big boy made me smile. I think of it all the time when he just wants to cuddle.

Vickie, sending hugs over the water. Hope the migraine is better.

Marilyn, glad the tummy is better.

Kathy, :grouphug: here if you need to talk.

Aimee, enjoy the Chinese. I hate being stranded due to cars.

My girls fussing...BBL

I couldn't find my menu, and their website is down, so I just made shells and cheese instead. Nothing like processed cheese product! My tylenol is not really doing the trick much anymore so I'm not eating much anyways. I am really anxious to talk to my GI on Thurs morning!

Chinese did sound really good...

Ellen -- Stay safe and warm!

Sheryl -- I'm sorry you have to go for another MRI.

Unfortunately he is too big for me to wrestle him to the ground and sit on him like I used to when he was little. :rotfl:
 We used to pile pillows around my brother so he couldn't move.

Are the kids getting excited? How long has it been since Greg was able to join them in Disney?

I'm glad Jake is getting used to you. I didn't think it would take long. The kids, especially Caili, are getting SO excited. Every day Caili sings our song "Three more days til Disney, three more days to fun, three more days to magic, come on everyone!" Greg has NEVER been to Disney with the kids!! He has always been deployed, getting ready to deploy, etc. Okay, he did go once when Liam was 13 months, but that doesn't count because Liam doesn't remember it. Everyone I tell the story has been welling up with tears, so there is definitely no problem with the kids missing school.

Ann -- Your children are beautiful! Thanks so much for the card.

You too, Lauri. Caili really loved yours.

Happy Birthday, Lori!! I hope you got something better than pizza.

Bethany -- I have been reading all your stories. I'm so glad you have found better place for you.

I'm sorry if I missed anyone. Greg called while I was catching up earlier. I haven't talked to him in a week, and then it was time to get the kids from the bus.

Two more days til Disney...

That makes me tear up, too! :goodvibes

Dinner update! NO PIZZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl2:

We ended up going to Olive Garden since Mike never called. Had the stuffed chicken marsala with pasta instead of the garlic mashed potatoes and zuppa toscana soup and salad and breadsticks! Needless to say I have leftovers that are going to be lunch tomorrow!:goodvibes

And I already have 2 loads of laundry done, folded and repacked- ready to come home tomorrow!:rotfl: (sorry Janice- I was already working on them when you said no laundry tonight:cutie:)

Thanks again for all the well wishes for my birthday. I really appreciate having friends like you all, whether you know it or not. And it looks like I should have a couple of pieces of mail when I get home tomorrow night!:yay:

I am in a foul mood again tonight. For no reason. Just can't shake it. :sad2: Guess I should just go to sleep.

Bethany, sometimes sleep is the best thing.

I mailed all y'alls cards today, wfd ladies. :)

Dinner was...leftovers! Chicken wings and potstickers from the other day. I ate none of that. I needed vegetarian or I would not eat so I made an udon noodle bowl with bok choy and scallions and tofu marinated in soy and sweet chili sauce. It might not look great but I love my tofu:

:faint:

You said "y'all"!

Yeah sleep sounds good. I have to stay at work from 7:45a-8p tomorrow and then Thursday is another 9 hour day and Friday is 8 hours. Hmmm, maybe I should take a personal day and leave early Friday and go watch the new Disney movie. *ponders*

I've been jumping on the boards here and there to try and keep up, I just don't have much time for posting right now. I wanted to pop in to wish Lori a :bday:!!

Ann and Lauri - got your cards yesterday!! Thanks!!

I'll get mine off early next week. I'm taking the week off from work to do Christmas shopping and such.

Ellen - will next week be okay to ship off a package to Jay? Or should I hold it a bit longer?

I couldn't find my menu, and their website is down, so I just made shells and cheese instead. Nothing like processed cheese product! My tylenol is not really doing the trick much anymore so I'm not eating much anyways. I am really anxious to talk to my GI on Thurs morning!

glad you are finally getting in to see him..good luck and keep us posted.

I hope you ALL have a fantastic trip!!

Dinner last night was brisket sandwiches and salad. Tonight was smoked pork sandwiches, cole slaw and baked beans. And wine. Work's been crazy; I can't wait for this week to end.

 to all who need them!

Looks pretty good to me and I really don't like tofu.

Dinner was really good. I added garlic and goat cheese to mashed up polenta roll. Here's the recipe.

Easy Polenta with Garlic and Cheese.

1 T olive oil
2 cloves garlic
1 roll polenta
4 oz. cheese (I used goat cheese but you can use any kind)
salt and pepper to taste

Mince garlic, saute in olive oil for 1 minute. Crumble up polenta into pan and cook about 5 minutes or until pasty consistancy. Add cheese and cook until melted, add salt and pepper to taste.

It's snowed and is now raining here. We are under flood warnings and watches here due to the amount of rain we are predicted to get tonight. Hopefully it will stay rain and not turn in to sleet or snow overnight.

Good morning! I got some snow I'll have to shovel. Not ton's but enough to make it a really yucky drive to work.

Aimee Car issues are never fun. I hate having to be at home with a car that doesn't work or work well, even if I was going to be home anyway. It is just the thought of being without my wheels.

Lori It is ok to do laundry on your birthday if it is really your idea. I was just giving you promisison to take the night off.:thumbsup2 I haven't been to an Olive garden in years.

I think I will be making soup for tonights dinner. I have some chicken to use up and that sounds good. It is supposed to be cold and windy later.

Is this up for a vote????? If so I vote Disney Movie!

It is snowing! All of the schools are closed and buddy is home so I have to think of something to get him out of my hair. Already he is sharing his opinion on my Chopped show :headache: and he does not want o hunt in the snow/rain. He is still smarting about Kady's question on Sunday. One of our neighbors got a big buck and so far this is the first that we have heard about in our gossip circle. Lot's of sightings, no venison. Anyway, he had Kady with him and since she was able to squeeze him in for a movie they were chatting about what Pa does when he hunts. She asked him "What has a deer ever done to you?" He had no answer :confused3:rotfl: I will have to explain to her that Pa hunts but I can count on three fingers how many deer he has actually gotten in 40 years, he really likes to just go out and watch them but will never admit that :ssst:

Dinner is ham steaks, baked potatoes or mashed potatoes and a gravy. Salad and a veggie
