The What's for Dinner Thread- June 2012 (recipe index in OP)

sounds yummy..

Pasta and Green Bean Salad

1 lb. rotelle pasta
1 cup petite green beans (fresh or frozen)
1 tomato, diced
1 small ball fresh mozzarella, diced
1 oz. loosely grated parmesan cheese
3 slices low-sodium ham, finely diced
1 T. dried onion flakes
1-2 oz. EVOO
1/2 t. garlic powder
sea salt and freshly-cracked black pepper, to taste

Cook pasta according to package directions. Cook green beans in same water with pasta. Drain and put pasta and green beans (still in colander) in a large bowl filled with ice water (to quickly chill pasta). While pasta is chilling, dice other ingredients. Re-drain pasta and green beans and put in large bowl. Add onion flakes and toss. Add tomatoes and ham and stir. Add cheeses, garlic powder, and olive oil, coating all ingredients. Add s & p and serve.

Yummy, thanks for sharing.

me too... I think I might break down and get a Rita's Water Ice...

I do keep York peppermint Patties in the freezer, they are so good cold!

Got a pizza in the oven. Whole wheat crust, sauce, mozz, bacon, pepper and onion...

Well we had grilled bacon burgers and potato chips for dinner. Hot fudge sundaes for dessert :yay:

Kady was here because Marisa had to go to her FIL's 100th marriage celebration popcorn:: and because she and Jeff were only making a brief appearance for this poster event for the DOMA, they went to Max burger for dinner.
Marisa had me howling when she described the Pirate ceremony, the best man's gynormous tear in his Unders (which she captured and then texted to me, my eyes are still burning) how she had no idea she waltzed through the wedding procession because the groom was in the bathroom, and how they knew not one person in the bridal party besides the happy couple :sad2:. Yup... gotta keep marriage sacred by limiting who legally marry....:rolleyes1

Seriously Jeff cannot really remember how many times his father has been married, but he has his mother's number narrowed down to 3 or 4.

Today Buddy and Daniel are moving tractors in the morning, and I am going to try to clean a little. I tracked in so much sand over the past two days that my floors are . We are suppose to have thunderstorms later so I want a meal that I do not need to cook outdoors. I'm thinking.

Breakfast this morning was left over pizza...

I am having a burger today, I have been craving one for a few days...

I want bacon and cheddar on it too...

I don't really care about anything else..

I have no idea how many times my dad has been married... Several more than 4 I think.

My ex has been married 6 times

only two for me.:littleangel:

LOL! When Marisa got pregnant they did not want to get married right away. Her aunt was after them constantly, so I finally had to step in and tell her that this was not her business, to stay out of it. Jeff was constantly shuffled back and forth between parents depending on their spousal circumstances and preferences, so he did not want to add one bit of stress to his DD's little life. It did not take them long to know that their baby was not ever going to be an issue between them, but he was really scarred by his parents choices.

He is really upset with his dad's lackadaisical approach to marriage, and what really makes Marisa crazy is that the father is so outspoken about protecting marriage. Really? They would not even take Kady to witness the spectacle, she went to a party and then to my house.

I can truly understand that... I have only been to one of my Fathers... The last one. All of the others he would just call me and say, "I got married" ... :confused3

so last night was grilled salmon, with fresh spinach, and whole wheat pasta... I know it does not sound wonderful, but the spice and flavor was so good on the fish and spinach.

Yummy...

Dinner was a toasted cheese sandwich. Pretty darn boring.

Pretty exciting when compared to the food in my house! :rotfl Our Relay for Life is Saturday and I have been flat out. One of our members completely dropped the ball on the Survivors portion so Marisa and I stepped in. I am Luminaria chair and it is becoming a cluster. Apparently, musicians are temperamental and mine is refusing to return my calls. Right now, my son is building the music into the program JIC she does not show.

so..............Buddy is eating whatever he can find in the fridge, and it is sad. He had to stop for bread and milk, because I was not even aware we were out.

.....last night's dinner: sliced grilled chicken in vodka sauce with penne pasta...YUM-o!
