The What's for Dinner Thread- June 2012 (recipe index in OP)

....same here....our washing machine broke so I had to go to the laudromat last night - everyone had to fend for themselves at home....:confused3

Kimmar....you have no idea how much I laughed at this statement. I'm sorry that your washing machine broke; but I've been looking at a friend's blog of her 4 week vacay in the US. Everytime she did laundry (particularly at WDW), she posted pictures of those alcoholic slushies (or a margarita) with the drinks umbrellas. She got to love doing laundry very quickly. So......where's your drink, with umbrella?

Dinner tonight is supposed to be Shrimp Po-Boys, but since I'm sitting at Urgent Care waiting to get my sprained ankle checked, that might not happen.

I thought the same thing - laundry drinks! I think the DIS had started something very dangerous :)

Oh no! I hope it's nothing serious!

Sprained ligaments. A boot for a month - but, a brace in the parks if I can stand the pain. We'll see how that goes...

Any suggestions for scooter rental places? I'm hoping I can walk it, but it isn't looking good. :sad2:

Oh NO!! I'm so sorry. I hope you get a scooter sorted out. Perhaps it might be a better option than walking.

I guess the good news was that I didn't cook dinner. :thumbsup2

DH and DS11 had Wendy's & DS13 and I had Bojangles drive-thru & ate in the car.

After 10 hours of work for DH and ME, DS13 had an hour long sax lesson, then basketball practice - where he forgot his grade sheet that the coaches have to see to ensure he's eligible to play, SO DH had to drive back to the school to take him his backpack, only the grade sheet was in his binder laying on the table! :worried: So, I went to urgent care (x-rays, doc, etc.), rushed home to get the binder while DH and DS11 went for hair cuts, and got it to school right as practice ended. Poor DS got one B this time - bumps him from A Honor Roll to A/B... :sad2: Then we went thru the drive-thru, ate in the van, and went to get his hair cut - with the black eye and goose egg on his head. After that it was home to iron clothes for them to wear tomorrow - Basketball team has wear dress clothes and a tie & DS11 is going to the symphony, so a tie for him, too.

So tired... :faint:

I'm probably not cooking tomorrow either!!! :lmao:

We've used Walker Mobility and Buena Vista Rentals, both with good results.

WOW! This is probably why I never became a parent. I don't think I could have handled this sort of responsibility. Good for you for being a caring parent!

Thanks!

AND - you do as much for Fran as I do for my kiddos - AND kitties are harder than kids. They can't tell you when they hurt.

Oh no.. I am sorry to hear this. I was in a boot the last time I was there... :(

Lots of laundry makes the foot/ankle feel better too.

So last night we had steaks and twice baked potatoes... They were from Omaha Steaks, my dad bought us a whole freezer full for Christmas. They turned out to be great.

I sent my Dad a thank you this morning.

Last night we ordered out. The place had all Asian cuisines. We got hot and sour soup, crab rangoon, sunomono, shrimp tempura roll, pad thai and mu shu chicken, all from one spot!

I talked the doc into giving me a brace, too. Since it is freezing and rainy here today, I decided to cheat and wear the brace & it worked great!!!! Still hurts, but I can walk on it. :yay:

This just might work out! :flower3:
