So the school wants them to show what they want to be when they grow up as long as it is within the framework that the teachers have chosen to be acceptable???????? Sheryl, I would be less than thrilled if my child spirits were dampened at 7 for goodness sakes!
I should not be laughing but. He wanted to call the police because you were mean?
Kady was not even speaking to me this morning when she trounced out of the car, I would have been turned in this morning as well
I agree with you on the school thing. It's ridiculous to make the kids "decide" what they want to be according to the teacher's perameters! I hate that!
I was laughing at the Abraham Lincoln battle, too! Katie used to scream that I was the meanest mom EVER! I told her "then I'm doing my job right!" She's also told me that I treat her just like Cinderella.
My favorite though was a trick I learned as a teacher. Whenever you tell your child to do something and they say, "that's not fair!", just look calmly at them and say, "I know." That's it. It really takes the wind out of their sails, since you are agreeing with them, and not giving them a battle. It was always funny to watch seniors in high school try to come up with a retort to that!
