The What's For Dinner Thread - Feb '09(recipe index in OP)

Nancy- The problem is the wood pile never ends, he keeps bringing home more.
.

:scared:

Alan called to tell me that the satellite news truck that his station uses was doing a story up one of the canyons, and slid off an embankment. If there hadn't been a guard rail, the driver would probably have been killed. As it was, the rail slowed the fall, and Dave was able to walk away with only bumps and bruises.
He had an Angel watching over him I think.

Stay in and stay safe!

Dinner is narrowed down with chicken thawed out. I hope Risa will grill it.

Nan - We grilled chicken Sunday and the marinade I used was awesome:

Grilled chicken marinade

1/4 c. sherry vinegar
1/4 c. olive oil
4 minced garlic cloves
2 Tbsp. smoked paprika
1 Tbsp. coarse salt

Okay, I am hear for happy prayers! My niece Amy was admitted last night and is in labor. She has waited a lifetime for this baby, it is two weeks early but her BP was very high so she has been induced. We do not know if it is a boy or girl, they did not want to know, but please remember her today if you would. My brother and sister in law have a flight out tomorrow morning.

This sounds delicious!

Thank you for all of your well wishes for Amy and Anthony. My sister talked to my brother and he told her that Amy was having a baby "any second" :rotfl2:Not that fast, I'm afraid! They were able to change their flights to 7 AM tomorrow morning but my poor DSIL is crazed right now. She is trying to finish all the work she needs to d so that she can have an extended "vacation".

Mayo, shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes and pickles and make it sloppy with gravy.;)

Hmm, no tomatoes and no good bread. :headache:Was going to try and con my DM into getting me a good roll when she went out tonight but she doesn't have to go out after all! Guess I'll have to make the Merle version! :rotfl: I shredded some of the beef and really soaked it in the juices in the crockpot, so yummy!

Do you ever put cheese on it?

Nancy, Prayers for Amy & a healthy baby!:flower3:

Merle, I do wild every now & then and add cheese! Swiss, provolone or mozzarella around here.

I'm fixing grilled chicken sandwiches tonight. I've been marinated the chicken in mediterrearean/greek marinade. I think I'll melt some feta on top, then dress with tomatoes & arugula.

Y'all have a good evening!

Kathy--Love ya! We're about to turn on the tube too to watch him! We drove into Conway (where Kris is from/my hometown) today for dentist appointments and Matthew says "This is where Kris lives" I was like "Kris who?" He looks at me like I"m crazy, "Mom, Kris from Merican Idol" Gotta love him!

Marinated some chicken in a teriyaki marinade and grilled it up (luckily before the storms started) Had that with sweet potato fries and baby greens salad. However, the greek grilled chicken Sheryl is having sounds better

Dinner was grilled chicken breasts, awful green beans, corn, WW roasted garlic couscous for Marisa and me, rice-a-roni for Buddy and Jeff. I made a lemon jello chiffon cake but when I opened the oven to check it the darn thing fell. This is the first time I have ever seen a cake deflate like that:scared:. I'll try it again and if it is good and does not deflate I'll post teh recipe.

Great to have some good news!!! Happy prayers being said!

I made fried corn and mashed potatoes and gravy to go with the roast.

:eek:I'm watching Survivor and the dude was nude!

Here is dinner--szechuan chicken and noodles. Since I was alone tonight I ate all I wanted from this plate and I still have two servings leftover.
