Monday 29th October - going home
Sad awakening.

Tonight we fly home. I'm up bright and early and over to the Artist's Palette to collect the breakfasts. The suitcases were packed last night and now lay waiting to be put in the car. Breakfast finished DW tidies up the room at the SSR whilst DD and I pack the suitcases into the car. We then drive over to Downtown Disney at 8:00am to do the Virgin baggage check-in. The skies open. The rain buckets down. Lickily after 2 minutes sitting in the car in the DTD car park it stops raining so we take our cases over to the check-in which is a breeze.

Armed only with our flight bags we head over to EPCOT for our final few hours.
Boy! The rain starts again. It's absolutely tipping it down again. Thank goodness for those ponchos. Once inside I sprint over (why is it always me that does the sprinting?

) to Soarin' and pick up the fast passes. 10:00am and the call-back time is 12 noon.
We then head over to get those all important photo's with the characters.
We have an easy stroll around the world (there's a gap in the rain) taking in the views on the way and getting those extra photoshoots.
Then we make our way over to The Land to have an early lunch, followed by our ride on Soarin' - Row No/1.
We then force ourselves to leave EPCOT and head back to SSR to buy some snacks to last us the rest of the day before our flight.
Our flights are at 20.55pm so we have one last look around SSR are before saying goodbye and setting off for the airport at 17:00pm.
The drive was mostly uneventful, except for taking one wrong turning, which after what appeared to be a long detour we managed to get back on track.
We had the normal boring sitting in the airport routine waiting for the flight. Luckily MCO has free internet access so I could connect my wifi Archos to do some surfing - until DD grabbed it of course!
The flight actually took off on time but the aeroplane was awful. I think it was the same one that brought us out. Even though there was the "one flight bag" policy the overhead lockers over row 48 were already full. One of the flight crew had used it to store all the stuff she had bought in the US to sell on Ebay - her words not mine.
Again, as with the flight out, the entertainment system was faulty, and again the flight crew couldn't fix it. That good old Archos came in very useful again (Myself and DW have one - DD was listening to her MP3). However, whereas the flight crew were excellent coming out, you couldn't have got a worse set of miserable sinners on the flight home. They were truly awful. Not responding to requests from the passengers etc. Luckily enough we had a good tailwind so the flight was only 7.5 hours and we landed at Gatwick early.
The baggage came through nice and quickly, and the owner of the Trumbles hotel was there to pick us up to take us back to our car. We took about 1.5 hours to drive home and settled in with a nice refreshing cup of tea.
