The week after Thanksgiving

We usually go the first week of November and the weather is beautiful, we can wear shorts and go swimming. I am wondering how it is the week after Thanksgiving. My DD wants to go this year and see all of the Christmas stuff. Thanks Michelle

This was our 1st time during the week following Thanksgiving. I had read many reviews before leaving that the weather can go either way. However, during our trip, it was very cold! And the wind made it that much worse!

But, did it stop us from being at the parks from sun up to sun down? NO! We had a fabulous time, and am planning our next trip during the same time this year! The decorations are great and it is very magical!

Don't even worry about the weather! Take clothes you can layer, and don't forget the hats and gloves! You just never know... ;)

Thanksgiving 2 years ago and had great weather. It was right at 80 every day and only down to 65 at night. Went this year the week before Thanksgiving and had close to the same weather but did have a cool day/evening with some rain. We had some friends that went the week after this year and they said it was cold!!! Just goest to show you that you can never tell but the week after Thanksgiving is a great time to go!!!!

Enjoy!

We were there this year from 11/30 to 12/7. The weather was nice except for two days. The temperature was in the 70's. The morning started out chilly. We wore shorts and t-shirts with a light jacket. By mid morning we took of the jackets. At night we would bring the jackets just in case. Sometimes we needed them sometimes we didn't. Two of the days it got really cold. I think it was in the 40's. But we were still able to enjoy the parks. It was our last two days there and it prepared us for the cold & snow that going on back here in NJ. I think there was a cold front going through the eastern part of the country at the time. I think it is a wonderful time to go. A lot to do and see and it really gets you in the mood for christmas.

Thanks for all the replies, I am still a little concerned since I don't want to be cold on my vacation. But I guess unless we do it we wont know what to expect. I guess we can try it once. Michelle

Can all you guys still confirm that the week after Thanksgiving (ie., arriving the Saturday after Thanksgiving and then the full week), is still pretty empty. I understand Saturday and Sunday will still be very crowded but will be picking vaction based on the threads I have read that it is usually pretty empty this time of year. Thank you very much :)

Hi, Mish!

Love your nickname! That's what my DH & family call me, too! :)

We've been to WDW the first week of Dec, and it was chilly. I know in some of our pictures, I was wearing a sweatshirt that I had to buy because I was so cold. We didn't swim on that trip, either. But it is a beautiful time to be at WDW. Very magical! We've been talking about going back at that time of year again in a couple of years or so. It's actually nice having the cooler temps when you're doing a lot of walking and standing in line. I personally didn't think the parks were that empty. All the books are advertising what a slow week that is, and I think more people are travelling at that time now. Obviously, it's much slower than at other times of the year, but it wasn't as empty as I thought it would be.

We've started going in October and love it! The weather is warmer (80-85), and we love MNSSHP! The crowds are very reasonable, too (except for the week of the PGA Tour!).
