We had dinner at The Wave last week...our ressies were for 5:55pm and we were seated just after 6pm. The dining room was fairly empty, so we thought that was due to our early ressies. Our waiter, Jackson was very polite and helpful. We passed on appitizers and ordered the flank steak, the cod, and the tenderloin. It took a while to be served dinner but the waiter did come back to check on our drinks. We decided to take a family picture and a hostess walking by offered to take it for us which was sweet. I noticed several hostesses standing around, again, the dining room was fairly empty.

Dinner came and it tasted delicious, well worth the wait!!! After dinner the waiter cleared the dishes quickly and came back for our dessert order. That was when the WAITING began.

It took over 40 minutes for us to get our dessert. Now after the first 20 minutes, I noticed our waiter cleaning and re-setting a few of the other tables that left, I couldn't understand why he had to do this when I saw SEVERAL CM standing around talking. Then after about 30 minutes our waiter came back to appologize for the wait, saying the chef got backed up and that the desserts had to be decorated individually...not sure what this ment:confused3 .

He did offer us FREE coffee to compensate us for the long wait...which I thought was nice of him. It wasn't his fault the chef was backed up and slow moving.

Dessert finally came and it was very good, but I couldn't figure out WHY it took that long to decorate it...again, the place was pretty empty. I can honestly say that I would not go back due to the ridiculous amount of time it took for us to be served. We ate at the Cali Grill and it took less time and we even had appitizers there!

Wow, that is bizarre! Can I ask what the desserts were? Did they have anything on them that would be individually decorated ... I guess if they were on plates with swirls and stuff, that would be a reason ... Maybe there is only one chef!

Anyway ... thanks for the review. I think this place has some settling down to do.

Thanks for the review. I'm pleased the food was good, but that does seem a ridiculous length of time for a meal when you didn't even have appetisers! Hopefully they're still just working out the kinks.

All the desserts were samplers...three tiny samples per person of various things, like cheesecake, chocolate mousse, lemon cake...I can't remember all of them but they were sooooooooo tiny, and not overly decorated...It was strange.

thanks for sharing your reviews - have heard that the desserts at the Wave are really good!

Dessert is what I'm looking foward to the most when I eat there.

Thank you for the review - we have a ressie there in September..I dont mind waiting but 40 mins is a little much for dessert. We would have said no thanks to the dessert after 20 mins...we know for our trip-besides-we usually dont eat dessert right after a meal anyway...:goodvibes
