The walking dead amc #2

The Walking Dead community would have a meltdown if it was Daryl -- but I think the Walking Dead comic book fans would have a meltdown if they didn't stick to story and have it be Glenn as written! And I will say it again, this was a cheap trick on the show's writers and producers just to get a rise out of the fans and keep us talking. It's working -- but we're still pissed! :sad2:

It could be Michonne. She was in the box.

I agree. I initially thought Eugene, but after reading a detailed article, I think I'm swaying towards Michonne. I don't think the Season 7 will start will Morgan and Carol. People will lose their minds! But hey, they did that with the did he/didn't he with Glenn this season too, so who knows.

The phrase "taking it like a champ" leads me to believe it's male. I don't know why, just initial instinct. Plus, if they follow the comics, then Negan
doesn't hurt women and children.

Well, cutting out Car's good eye and feeding it to Rick would be injuring a child. And I'll go there. Did you see any colored people in Negan's group? Michonne may be female, but she's black. And who knows if they follow the storyline of him being "good" to women and children, they've changed storylines before.

He did cut off the finger of one of the women who had maggie and carol prisoner because she took gas.

Glen would never go to the Hilltop. He would stay with Rick's group. Maggie needs to be there for the doctor.

Unless Maggie and his unborn child were brutally murdered...then who is to say what he would do? But, don't worry, I doubt it's Maggie that gets it. I still think it's Glenn.

What if it was Rick who was lucilled, and Maggie takes over her own group instead of the Hilltop? Kind of keeping with the theme of her being a leader, just not of the hilltop, but closing a chapter on the first 7 seasons. Just a thought.
I would have a very HARD time sticking with the show if that happened. I think Rick and Carl are both the definite "safe" ones though, just based on Negan's line about cutting out Carl's eye and feeding it to his dad.

OMG...watch it be Aaron and we'll all be like 'well, okay' deflated. I guess most of us agree it isn't :Sasha, Rosita, Rick or Carl. Maybe it's Daryl...he's one I haven't thought it was until now. Do we know why Dwight shot him in the shoulder? Maybe to mark him for Negan????

Nooo....I just thought of something. It is Maggie. And Daryl will now take her story at hilltop as he needs to see a doctor...or Carol does. And we were seeing the POV of Glenn and Maggie both.

I think Daryl is too independent to take on that role personally. I don't think he's the one Negan kills either. I am going with either Glen or Abraham. I think that, unless Daryl wants off the show, he isn't going anywhere anytime soon. He's their cash cow and they know it. JMO.

Funny discussion, if it turns out to be one of the main characters everyone is pissed one of the favourites was killed. If it is one of the secondary characters everyone feels let down by the producers and writers.

So true. Heck, I'm still trying to get over the shock of Denise dying. I loved her character -- and the actress that played her (loved her on Nurse Jackie), but also thought it was nice to have a doctor on hand again and wish they had kept her around another season!

Yep, I think it's safe to say, no matter how they decide to do this, someone will be pissed. It's a mark of a great show though to see how emotionally invested people are in it.

Very true, they can't win either way :)

Although I do think they really screwed up leaving it on a cliffhanger. It was a 10/10 episode up until that point... could have been the greatest TWD episode of all time, on par with GoT Red Wedding. Instead, they gave it a cheap ending. The momentum built during those final moments immediately lost its steam and certainly will have lost it after 6 months. Did it get us all talking? Yes. But I think we'd all be talking if they'd revealed who was killed, too. We'd direct our anger at Negan, where it belongs, instead of on the writers. Will die hard fans tune in next season? Yes. But most casual viewers I know dropped the show already. As much as I love TWD, they jumped the shark with the Glenn/dumpster fiasco. This really took the cake.

As a side note, Jeffrey Dean Morgan is so much eye candy! Evil as Negan is. Loved him on Grey's Anatomy even if that was kind of a ridiculous story line.

He was just terrific in the (Starz or Showtime) limited series "Magic City" about the rise of Miami in the 50's and 60's. He ran one of the main hotels and loved his character. Wish they had renewed it. He's so good at being horrifying evil, and melt your heart romantic!

And yes, I think because of the Glenn/dumpster fiasco, many fans don't trust them now! I am one of them!

o_O Moving on...

To answer your question, yes, there were a number of black people in Negan's group.

ETA: If Negan was a raging racist with genocidal tendencies he'd have to take out Michonne AND Sasha. Unless he hated Hispanic people more than black people, then it's Rosita. But as we all know, Negan is most racist towards Asians, so it's Glenn. ;)

I understand. I was just saying the reason why I don't think it's Michonne.

I did see black people in the group when the camera was panning, so I don't think that's a valid point either.

So I am going with Maggie, Glenn or Abraham. I really think it's Maggie. If Daryl doesn't have what it takes to take on Maggie's role at Hilltop, Carol might. Maybe her character changes this past seaon...going from kill first to not wanting to kill (seeing both sides of the coin) will make her a good leader.

Now that would be awesome! I love Carol when she is being kick butt Carol and she would make a great leader IMO. I would definitely be on board for this idea.

Did Negan's group have any women? I only watched it once but I'm thinking when they panned around it was all biker looking dudes.

Well, I don't think I saw any. However, there are women. Remember the women who kidnapped Maggie and Carol? They were with Negan.

Valid point. I didn't notice, wasn't really looking in depth at the crowd, I was too bust looking at our own group!

I actually didn't think the episode was that bad. It showed the breakdown of Rick & his pride - everything is *not* going to be okay like he told Maggie. Lots of season finales end w/ a cliffhanger... it's just hard to wait 6 months. I also think part of the problem is we were led to believe there would be some kind of ending... I expected to be sitting in tears at the end, & I wasn't. LOL!

As much as I didn't like the ending, I also get Scott Gimple's point that he discussed on TD. The season finale was the ending of a story - Rick's "pride goeth before a fall" story - which ended w/ Rick on his knees & w/ the first swing of Lucille. Who was killed (& the reactions to that & how they move forward from that) is the beginning of the next story.

As for who was killed, I don't think it's any of the women because
in the comics, isn't Negan against violence toward women?

If the writers decide they can't kill a main character, it'll be Aaron. However, I really like his character, & I like his relationship w/ Maggie. If they do kill a main character & don't go w/ the comics, I think it will be Abraham... possibly Eugene.

I do like how another poster mentioned that it could be someone that was in the box since the final scene was shown from the same perspective as earlier in the episode from someone in the box - throughout the episode, we were getting the perspective of the person who had his "last day on earth," although we didn't know it at the time. If this is the case, then it's Glenn because I really don't think they're going to kill Daryl - even though that's what they wanted us to think. If it is Glenn, then I think that's another reason the episode ended on a cliffhanger. Everyone who's read the comics & even people who haven't read the comics were expecting Glenn, &, by not showing who it was, the writers could hold out the suspense longer.
