The walking dead amc #2

I don't understand why they haven't "armored" a camper. Sort of like one of the Dirty Harry movies where he welds armor on the sides and front of a school bus and drives into the massed gunfire. They have the camper, they have sheets of metal. They could rig up something that would allow them to plow over things while protecting those in the camper. Sheesh.....do I have to think of everything?
I was thinking that they should have cut a hatch in to roof and then someone could go up there was a machine gun or auto and just plowed right through the guys at the road block.

Cliffhangers are weak and lazy writing.

I think the death will be Abraham. Neegan said something about the victim taking it like a man or like a tough something or other and Abraham was the only one who looked tough about their situation.
He said "taking it like a champ". I am thinking it's Abraham also.

I had read somewhere that Rosita called Abraham "champ" about 3 episodes back, so people think that is a clue. I don't recall this, but could be. I also think the show is throwing in a lot of red herrings to throw us off and lots of these things people are reading into are nothing at all. Kind of to get people talking and speculating.

All the secrecy regarding Negan's reveal definitely hyped it up greater than it was. This was a case of over-promise and under-deliver.

Not so much the hype but I"m going off the comic which delivered.

He said that word for word in the comic and it was Glen.

Do you think the writers/producers/Gimple etc. know or even think they may have made a mistake ending it in a cliffhanger? Or do you think they expected it and are just laughing off all the backlash knowing we will all be tuning in for the premier in Oct?

You think they would have learned from the "is Glenn dead or under the dumpster" thing.

Heard they've been scrambling over the past two days with phone interviews and such -- trying to explain away their "error" maybe? I agree that not only the Glenn dead under the dumpster was a ridiculous plot twist, but they kept us waiting way too long once the season came back to reveal! Betcha anything that when season 7 returns they are not going to tell us in the first two episodes to keep us tuning in! Lousy thing to do to the dedicated fans who have already proved their loyalty!

I watched the episode last night. I paid close attention to Negan's monologue and he stated he was going to beat someone - not kill them, not beat them to death, just beat them. Sooo, I'm not sure if anyone will actually die. I think he realizes that the group is small compared to his or others and in order for them to be "profitable", I would think that he needs as many alive and working for him as possible.

No, their head will be bashed in like those in the pics above the beds that Glen and Daryl discovered when the went on a Savior killing spree.

From what I've read on the fan sites, Glenn's dying leads to Maggie becoming head of the Hilltop and the fans feel that can't happen if Glenn survives. Glenn has survived an awful lot so far and everyone is saying it's time. Who knows.....

This is true in the comics. But also in the comics, Maggie cut her hair after Glenn's death. So the fact that they had her cut her hair before the Lucille scene is either because they are trying to throw us off or Glenn lives. I guess they could just switch up the story line for the sake of it too, but it's not significant so I don't know if that makes sense.

My personal guess is that Abraham is the victim of Lucille and I do believe there's a chance he will live. No reference of killing or death was made by Negan and I would think he'd look at any of them as able-bodied people he can put to work through intimidation.

I think it was Abraham because of where Negan was in the lineup from the victim's POV in the last scene. Negan nodded to his right when he referenced Carl's eye and feeding it to Rick, which means Carl, Aaron, and Eugene are to the victim's left/Negan's right so they would be safe. Negan looks to his right and left right before saying they all would be crying. Glenn was on the very end, so there would be no reason for Negan to look left. So he's safe. IMO, that leaves Abraham and Darryl as the only two options. I'm leaning towards Abraham because Negan seemed to be closer to Rick in the middle, and Abraham was only one away from Rick. He'd also be inclined to "take it like a champ".

BUT, the earlier scenes in the episode of the hostage group (that Dwight captured) were shot in first person POV. When they were locked up in the box or trailer or wherever they were. The ending scene was along the same lines, also in first person POV. If they were shooting those scenes from the same person's POV, assuming the victim is male, that would mean it's either Glenn or Darryl. In this case, I'd vote that it's Darryl because he was more towards the middle of the lineup than Glenn, and he could also "take it like a champ"

For the record, are comic books spoilers actually spoilers? If so can they be put in the spoiler format. I don't read the comics and I don't want to know what may or may not happen based on them.

If they arena spoilers and people can just discuss them let me kid sound yay away. Thanks.

I thought we did decide that comic book story lines would be considered spoilish since sometimes they follow the comics and sometimes they don't. Since we never know if they will or not, it was best not to say and put it in a spoiler button.

I don't think any thing was decided, per se, but I think opinions vary on whether or not comic references are spoilers. The TV show can and does divert from the comic storyline quite a bit. But as a courtesy, it was mentioned much earlier in the thread to use the spoiler button when making comic references to respect those who did not want to know about the comics either. Unless the original poster of the thread edits the OP to make a rule of no comic references, then there will always be a risk of it.

I hope it's not Abraham -- I have really gotten to like him. I think it's time for Glenn - not just because of the foretelling in the comic books -- but because I think he has cheated death too many times and it seems like they are just using his character for plot fodder anymore. He's been a wasted character all season (unfortunately), almost like they were phasing him out.

The only thing that makes me think it's not Abe or Eugene is that they said the death will end the first 7 seasons story and start the beginning of a new story. Abe and Eugene were not that intrigal to the entire story and their deaths would not "end" a story. I'm thinking bigger, like Glenn or maybe even Carl? Someone who has been around for the long haul. That would be Glenn, Maggie, Carl, Rick or Daryl.

Yep, my money is on Glenn. Idealistically, however, I'd like to see them fake everyone out and have it be Maggie and let Glenn have the huge leadership that is predicted for Maggie instead. A flip flop role reversal from what the speculation has become. That's my wishful thinking but I admit that is mostly because I do like Glenn and have never liked Maggie.

Glen would never go to the Hilltop. He would stay with Rick's group. Maggie needs to be there for the doctor.

It could be Michonne. She was in the box.

What if it was Rick who was lucilled, and Maggie takes over her own group instead of the Hilltop? Kind of keeping with the theme of her being a leader, just not of the hilltop, but closing a chapter on the first 7 seasons. Just a thought.

I would be more than okay with Maggie, never liked her character. That or Carl & his hat!! I would be upset with Eugene, Abraham or Michonne, absolutely pissed if it was Darryl. Looking forward to his summer show, he described it like Anthony Bourdain only with bikes.

I don't think it was Rick. Didn't Negan say something like -- if anyone screams, cut out the boy's other eye and feed it to his father? Be pretty hard to feed it to Rick while he's getting his head smashed in...

I agree. I initially thought Eugene, but after reading a detailed article, I think I'm swaying towards Michonne. I don't think the Season 7 will start will Morgan and Carol. People will lose their minds! But hey, they did that with the did he/didn't he with Glenn this season too, so who knows.

I'd hate for it to be Michonne! She has been a favorite of mine since she walked up with her zombies on chains.

I'm leaning towards Glen. I can't see it being a pregnant Maggie and the writing made Eugene and Abraham look too obvious. Rick isn't likely and Carl isn't either and I will not even consider it being Daryl! Besides Norman Reedus was on one of the early shows today and commented that being on the Walking Dead is his favorite job which makes me hopeful that it's still his job.

OMG...watch it be Aaron and we'll all be like 'well, okay' deflated. I guess most of us agree it isn't :Sasha, Rosita, Rick or Carl. Maybe it's Daryl...he's one I haven't thought it was until now. Do we know why Dwight shot him in the shoulder? Maybe to mark him for Negan????

Nooo....I just thought of something. It is Maggie. And Daryl will now take her story at hilltop as he needs to see a doctor...or Carol does. And we were seeing the POV of Glenn and Maggie both.
