What’s for Dinner Tonight?

Today is DH's birthday so he gets to pick the menu. I made black magic chocolate cake from scratch and he requested coconut-pecan frosting. He made homemade peanut butter fudge swirl ice cream. For dinner we're having meatloaf, mashed potatoes and roasted carrots. Our sons are coming home to celebrate later today.
Happy Birthday to him!

I've been craving a hot dog for months. (That's not something I'll allow myself to eat more than 2 or 3 times a year.) I decided to wait, until we were eating with DS. He likes them too. With leftover potato salad, baked beans & coleslaw in the fridge & needing to be eaten, I decided today is the day. DH & DS finally put the Blackstone grill together today, so we're having grilled hot dogs, North Carolina style w/ the leftovers. I can't wait.

We're going to Chili's for lunch today with the family. Celebrating DIL's birthday (which is Wed).
Then back to our house for presents and cake.
Dinner may be nothing or just a snack or salad.
Happy Birthday to her in advance. 🎂

:bday: to him! Your dessert sounds delicious.

Oh no! Did you not get the Tamiflu or did it not work? I've heard good stuff about it, but I've never tried it. It stinks that your break was ruined by the flu. :( I hope you feel better soon.
:offtopic: I did get the Tamiflu. The doctor warned me that it might not prevent me from getting the flu if I'd already started getting sick, but it should make the symptoms easier to deal with. I started taking it on Sat (last weekend) and thought I was gonna be ok but on Monday I suddenly felt like I'd been hit by a truck. I tested positive on Tuesday. Tuesday & Wednesday were pretty bad, but NOTHING like DD had! She was coughing so hard she thought she'd broken a rib and there was blood in her sputum... and dark green hunks (sorry to be so graphic). I wasn't that sick... coughing, low fever, body/joint aches and exhausted, but nothing like the fever of 102+ that she ran for several days. I'm feeling pretty good right now- I actually worked a full day today, getting the labs ready for next week.

Supper tonight was Sam's rotisserie chicken, shells with pasta sauce, and bagged salad. There really wasn't enough of the sauce left for DH to have as a meal, so it became tonight's side. The LittleGuy is here for overnight and I think he's getting sick, too... but he ate like a truck driver (he'll be 10 in July... what are the teen years gonna be like if he eats like this now?), so maybe he's not getting sick? We'll know in the morning, but he's feverish, coughing/sneezing/snotting... we'll see.

Today is Sunday family lunch day minus a few. My DS24 and his GF are going to get a horse with a friend. My BIL is driving my niece back to school today. My SIL is picking up Italian- lasagna and can’t remember what else.
Last night DS24 and GF stayed for pizza❤️. It was nice it doesn’t happen very often.
