The WALDORF ASTORIA ORLANDO and HILTON BONNET CREEK Information Thread

Staying at the Hilton BC for the first time July 27th-30th. It's a weekend getaway for DH and I. No parks, just hanging around the resort with some DTD and Citywalk thrown in for good measure. We were able to use our bank's reward points for 2 of the nights and paid for the 3rd on our own. Can't wait!!

These are our favorite 2 hotels in the Disney area, besides Disney properties. We stayed once across the street at the Wyndham, and it was horrible.

Even if you are staying at the Waldorf, have dinner at La Luce. If you want amazing service, ask for Gany or Stefano as your server. When we are at the Waldorf, we have them drive us over in the golf cart to skip the hike through the convention center.

Heads up, for those looking at cabana's, they raised the price. It went from $199 to $299 for a full day. It is much cheaper to book a room package that includes the cabana for your stay.

The Hilton Bonnet Creek is one of the best Hiltons in the chain IMHO. The pool is fantastic. HUGE with a lazy river that surrounds the whole pool. The Waldorf also has a pool but not anywhere near the size of the one next door at the Hilton.

The 2 hotels are all connected, but wear some comfortable shoes as it is quite the walk through the hotels.

Parking at the Hilton will set you back $ each night. Park on the second floor of the parking garage and you will be abe to skip the elevator.

The Bull and Bear restaurant is very good but pricey. You will have several servers just standing around the table to take care of your every need. Sometimes it can be a bit much if you just want to have a quiet private dinner. The filet was good but we've had better filet at Texas Roadhouse for half the price.

I need their address, because Bull and Bear was some of the best steaks I have ever had OUTSIDE of Texas.

We are staying at HBC in August for a few nights before moving to OKW. I think I read earlier in the thread that there are no mini-fridges in HBC rooms. Is this still the case? Can you pay extra to rent one?

What about microwaves? If there isn't one in the room is there one in any of the restaurants that guests can use?

Thanks folks:thumbsup2

There is a mini fridge in the Hilton Bonnet Creek rooms. No microwaves.

Dress code on paper is dressy with jacket and tie. Realistically I wear a golf polo style shirt, dress pants and shoes. Ladies usually have a nice dress, doesn't have to be super formal.

However, being a resort, you will see people wearing t-shirts and jeans. Don't be that person though, for other meal goers will glare at you. :lmao:

Can a cooler be brought out by the pool? We want to bring drinks down to the pool instead of paying 8 bucks for a beer. Obviously we would use plastic cups and no glass.

OK first timer to this thread and I'm a bit overwhelmed.

I've eaten at Bull and Bear before and I really liked the Waldorf so I was considering a 2 night self-indulgent stay there at the beginning of my up coming vacation.

Questions I have:

How far is the walk between WAO and HBC resorts - I'm wondering about the walk to the Lazy River and then also if I wanted to eat at La Luce is it?

Do all the rooms at WAO have the walk in shower?

If I book just a normal double room do you think it would be possible to either upgrade at check-in to a Disney View or a King Room?

Will Alamo/National WDW Car Care Center come pick me up to take me back to pick up my rental car do you know?

Does anyone know of any deals on transport from MCO to WAO?

Thanks very much in advance for any tips you experts can give me, this thread is amazing! :)

I can't answer all of your questions, but I can try a few...we enjoy the walk to the Hilton from the Waldorf...it's not far at all from pool to pool IMO...it seems further when walking inside, but we enjoy the leisurely stroll...usually with an adult beverage in hand, lol...

We've stayed in several room/suite types at the Waldorf and all had at least a walk-in shower...it seems like they all had a tub as well.

I would think you could upgrade your room category at check-in if rooms are available...

Can't answer your transportation questions...we like to arrange a town car through the Waldorf to meet us at the airport, but it is definitely NOT a deal, lol...

Happy planning!

Well I have been known for my ability to multi-task so this sounds like a grand idea ;)

Thank you so much for answering some of my questions.. this is like a whole new world to me, not staying at a Disney property, and I want to be sure I can make the most of my stay.

You are very welcome...and if you are like us you will LOVE this "whole new world" :goodvibes...We have stayed at many different onsite hotels, but now we never stay anywhere else when we come to Orlando for Disney purposes...we LOVE the Waldorf!!!

I've gone ahead and booked 6 nights at the Waldorf for December :cool1: I'm another newbie having always stayed onsite, this time I'm after a more relaxing experience.

I'm planning on using the shuttle to the parks/DTD, can anyone advise where the bus stops for each park/DTD?

Thank you

I Haven't actually taken the Waldorf Shuttle, But I can tell you that it would drop off at the off-site Shuttle areas.

For the MK, this would be at the old Bus depot at the TTC (Behind the TTC bathroom/offices/Guest Relations building and the old Kennel location... pretty much straight ahead and to the right of the parking Lot Tram route under the bridge from the parking lot.)

For the Other parks, The Offsite shuttle locations are pretty much right behind the Onsite-Shuttle locations.
