Studios definitely only sleep 4 max at VGC. They currently consist of a queen bed and a queen sleeper sofa. Really hoping for murphy beds with the refurb!
Oh crap, my mistake. I’m glad you quoted that post I didn’t realize I had typed studio, I meant 1-bd.

Wait, i think i found a pic... Can someone confirm this is how they are in 1-bd?

Here is a recent (April 2023) picture (capture from a video we took while our son was practicing being a resort tour vlog host) of the setup -

The continued use/checking out of it by the kiddos -

By the end of the trip it was the official residence of our little one and her babies and we had to leave it down all day or face the wrath of an angry little girl...

Now that I think of it... this was our first ever stay at DVC on our points. It was magical.

(this was a 2BR but the setup is the same). Now I'm second guessing our stay in a studio next August and I may have to switch to a 1BR.....

My 9-year old at dinner: “Are we staying in a villa this trip?”

Me: “Yes”

9-year old: “How many bedrooms?”

Me: “A one-bedroom at Grand Cal in October, a one-bedroom at the brand new Disneyland hotel in January, and then a 2 bedroom Grand Cal in March!”

9-year old: looks down and shuffles in his chair. “Ok….but I really like the 2 bedrooms and the Grand Villas…”

Me: “Yeah, me too.”

🤣

What are your thoughts on the foldout couch bed?

Me too! Alas… sometimes have to slum it in a deluxe studio. Tee hee

We didn’t use it in the two bedroom but we did in the GV and they are good for the kiddos. They have a very good mattress for a couch but are still not as good as a Murphy that you get at SSR or Riviera. I had to sleep on one at Kidani for half a day and it was a similar couch and mattress to what is at VGC and it was acceptable but if I had to put larger adults my size on it for extended periods I’d get something to make it a bit more comfortable. Dream is to get another 300 to 500 points at VGC in the next 5 to 10 years so we’ll be less tempted by the value of the studio….

Hopefully the remodel gives us a Murphy soon so studios at VGC will be awesome.

I’m hoping this will be a one time thing for my 14 year old if we get Murphy beds in the remodel.

The Parlor Suites at Aulani remind me of a DVC 1 bedroom without a kitchen. By the 3rd night my oldest was asking his little brother if he wanted to trade him so he could sleep in the fold down under the TV. My youngest declined because he said his stuffies needed a place to sleep while we were at the pool/ocean. 🤣

Did some homework and realized I likely made the reservation longer than needed so lowered the stay by one night but upgraded to a 1BR. Gives us room to bring my mom/grandma along for the trip too. We'll continue the tradition to celebrating the birthday of our little princess a week early right before school starts with a quick last trip to Disneyland before back to school :)

I'm sure it's been posted somewhere in this thread, but has anyone figured out what the Preferred View is for studios? I mean, it doesn't matter a whole lot to me as I'm a local and have seen it all, LOL, but just curious.

Isn’t everything at Grand Cal a Standard View?

Monorail pool, can see Guardians and Cars Land lit up apparently etc. - basically not parking lot view. But yes can see our beloved Grand Cal as a side benefit :). The question is, will that parking lot view turn into theme Park view in coming years with Disneyland Forward in theory

Agreed, but for the next 10 years it could also be of a construction zone…
