is there anyway to get on the USA web site - used to go in through the spanish page but can't even do that now- trying to book the campground.

At the moment, your IP address forwards you onto the UK site. If you download and use a US proxy program, this would forward your IP address through a US proxy server, and you'll be able to connect to the US site.

Do you have a mac or a windows PC? If you have a mac, I use Spotflux which is pretty good (its free!) - and always lets me access US sites like Disney and certain shopping websites.

If you have a windows PC, you first need to find a US IP address. I can send you a website that has a load of proxies if you like (or just google proxy list)? You can scroll down, find USA under country, copy the IP address and the port number. Open Firefox, go to Preferences - Network - Settings, select 'Manual Proxy Configuration' and then paste the proxy into 'HTTP Proxy' and the port into 'Port'. Then, try again!

This makes it sound incredibly complex - it's really not! It's very simple, I promise :)

Using a random "free" proxy is very unsecure, especially when OP is trying to book, this mean sending the Credit Card details, in plain text (no HTTPS) where it could be logged by the proxy, or even intercepted

never, ever send your Credit Card details, or any other personnal data through a free or anonymous proxy.

secure proxy (expensive) with SSL and HTTPS are okay, but free proxies found by just googling them and using them for a purchase ...probably the best way to get your CC details stolen.

OP asked for a way to get onto the US site - I gave them a way. I don't have the need to use free proxies, as I have the secure software on my home mac. But, I can only advise what I know, it's up to OP how they use that information.

it's up to OP how they use that information.

OP's obviously not computer litterate enough (no offense) to know about the dangers of using a public proxy. Otherwise OP would have known how to spoof their IP or use a proxy.

You can't expect someone to understand or even imagine the danger of a solution when you say "it's very simple, I promise"

It's dangerous, and even if it does work to get to the US website, it's like advising someone to cross the M4 blindfolded because it's a way to go to the other side. And it's indeed one of the (foolish) ways to do it.

nevermind. now OP's warned that it's a solution, but a dangerous solution.

The OP here- I have been using k-proxy and others to get on and off sites that track your IP for years- but for some reason even using these there is no access to the actual prices/dates - It just comes up with an error page with a lovely picture of stitch when I try and search for prices using a proxy-:rotfl:

I just tried a while ago for you, to check it worked and it seemed to give me all of the info using Spotflux. If you want to give us your dates/no. people etc I don't mind having a look? If that would help give you an idea :goodvibes

that would be great- I am looking at the a pop up tent on the campground for 1 night on the 3rd of aug. for 7 of us

At the bottom of the page, there are international versions. Click US: English. Easy! :)

tent or pop up campsite at Ft Wilderness, one night for Aug. 3rd is $49 + tax ($55.13 incl taxes)

We use a VPN that you can subscribe to online to use Hulu and such. It's 5$/month.

With booking the trip, I used a US based Disney travel agent so I didn't have to worry abou let the price changing and paid in dollars (yay Exchange rate!). It turned out to be the way to go though because she got me an awesome deal and she's getting my travel documents (including luggage tags!) and sending them to me here in Austria. :)

I'm esp. excited about the luggage tags. :)

i use a different browser from my regular one..
clear all the cookies from my computer..
and then go in on that other browser.
it usually gets me to the US (though not always)..

sometimes i can get there using this:
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/

and sometimes i can get there using this and then clicking on the USA:
http://www.disneyinternational.com/

and sometimes i can't get there at all...

it's very finicky

Try Hotspot Shield, you'll get banner ads, but if you are only using it to get on the US website it isn't a problem. That's the free version that I used to get on the Disneyland and US WDW site last year.

You really don't need to do anything complicated.

Go to the home page.
Scroll down to the bottom.
Under International Versions, select USA: English.
US site loads.

I can then browse the US offers without any problem. Everything comes up in dollars (where is shows me it in Pounds on the UK version) and I can't see the UK offers anymore (like 2015 Free Dining).

:thumbsup2 This, exactly how I booked part of our trip. No problem at all

i get there by going through a different browser than i usually use (normally i use chrome - to get to disney USA i use firefox)..
i don't always get straight there..
sometimes i have to get to the international site first and then get to the US from there..

basically it's a royal pain in the derriere...but the only way i manage at all is by using two different browsers..

Sorry, I have to just point out that its perfectly secure to use an anonymous proxy to book via Disney. You may not be aware, but this is exactly what the SSL protocol exists for. The encryption to a website is direct from your browser to the website, not from the proxy to the website. As long as you see the padlock and you do not see any certificate warning, you can be assured that your connection is safe and secure. SSL was created exactly for this reason (to prevent MitM attacks). For a proxy to read the data over the SSL connection, it would need to 'break' your SSL session by masquerading as the Disney website. This would result in a browser error saying the is a problem with the certificate (and is vary obvious) and is not trusted. Disney enforce the use of SSL during their booking process, it is not possible to book 'in the clear'. A proxy is only capable of intercepting traffic when the session is not SSL (and Disney do not host a non-SSL booking system so is a non-issue).

I say this as a Director of an Internet company!

My problem is that I can get onto the US website but when I try to buy tickets it automatically directs me back to the UK site - is there any way round this?

Keep changing to US and trying - my laptop now defaults to the US site!
