The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

Everything will be closed, even in MN if we get more than a few feet it's too much to keep the roads clear except for quick scrap of snow emergency routes (main busy streets). Though if we had that much accumulation in just a few hours, it would likely to be blizzard conditions with high winds and zero visibility.
It's been a long time since we've had a big blizzard in the city, we've had gradual accumulation of three feet and more .. but it was spread out over the entire day, plus another foot or two the next day, another 6 inches the next.. etc. Slow enough of a storm to keep the roads relatively clear.

Big blizzards are fun if you don't lose electricity and have lots of groceries stocked. Snow day from school! Everyone comes out the next day (and it's warmer outside with the snow cover) and nice neighbors help each other dig out the cars, clear the sidewalks. Teenagers go out and make money :thumbsup2 While the little ones start digging up the yard with snow people and forts. Meanwhile the adults comment on how much snow we got, like it's a big surprise.. uhh gee where do we live again?

Be careful and stay warm (dry).:sunny:

That was pretty much my guess. The only thing that sucks though is I don't know if John's company is going to understand if he can't open??? I realize he may not be able too - but I doubt they will - so that has me a bit concerned. Other then that we are stocked on firewood and lanterns (in case we lose power) and are over stocked with groceries just in case!!! I am not sure I can handle Anaheim weather here in a couple weeks I just might melt!!! :rotfl2:

UGH!!!! Can my life ever be DRAMA FREE????? Wanna hear my story? To BAD! You don't have a choice!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I love my mom.. I really do. But this is making me CRAZY. Because, you know.. I need more stress in my life!:lmao:

oh boy!
Good thing they are family, don't have a choice to love them ...but you don't have to like them or what they do.

Heads up..Your sis may have to pay a higher tax on that car when she registers it in her name.

When we first arrived to CA and tried to register our car (just had bought it a few months before in MN, had plates and current tabs) the amount of the registration was very high because of an extra tax tacked on.

There is a penalty in CA for buying a car out of state, something about paying less in another state for taxes and then having to make up the difference? :confused3

It was too expensive, we drove around (illegally) with our MN tabs that year. Bought the new ones online and luckily had it mailed just in time when we came back. :thumbsup2

It is getting nasty out right now - we had probably 8 inches of snow on the ground - but for the last two hours it has been constant rain!!! We have always had happy fluffy powdery snow - but this is just a mess (and I am guessing what you are used to Bernice). You should check out our storm - it is pretty amazing and we are just the tip right now. The best radar is at wunderground.com (using zip code 85901)

wow!
That is a large storm system!

yeah, the heavy wet stuff sucks. We warmed up since the last snow fall, but we still have side streets that are just icy ruts. The parking lot is hazardous too. The main streets get plowed and salted with a good mixture right away, they only take one swipe at side streets.

We "sing" the indy theme music while we bump along the streets. :lmao:

Isn't it purdy??? We had a storm Tuesday night too that started it all off - so it has been a crazy week - we keep calling it "spring break" since we might lose part of it this year . I know Phoenix has gotten record rain - at one point they said they could get a years worth this week  It kind of sucks because I have had to miss work - so the paycheck will suck - but at least they are very willing to work around my schedule - one less thing to stress :goodvibes

Our has "ice pellets" listed

freezing rain, rain/ snow mix, freezing drizzle

.. but ice pellets??

New one to me.

Thanks! I might have mentioned it a few times.. but I am SUPER excited to move!:lmao::cool1: I still havent bought my tickets yet! but my sister got hers! A woman she works with used to be a castmember, and had one single day park hopper left and gave it to her!!!:woohoo:

:cool1::cool1: Me too! How much am I going to owe for the hotel?? I will be her for three nights.

I filed my tax return this afternoon.. and it has already been accepted! I got to do free file. Never done that before, but we qualified, so why not! I had no idea H&R Block did that! My return was about a thousand more then I even expected!!!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1: I should have it on the 28th! So I will have a little spending money at Disneyland. :thumbsup2

I'm going to call the hotel tomorrow and have them figure out the total and go ahead and prepay on my credit card. Then I'll set up a spreadsheet outlining how many people each night, I will prorate it with the worst snorer paying a 10% higher rate, anybody that leaves dirty socks laying on the bedroom floor will be charged a 5% convenience fee, there will also be a $2 inconvenience fee for anybody that gets up in the middle of the night and flushes the toilet. Once I have entered all the data, I will divide it by the number of people per bed and multiply it by the total hotel rooms in the Anaheim Resort area. Any questions??:rotfl:

I just had the worst sleep imaginable. I had a little heart flutter the day before yesterday, it's not the first one I've had so I started to get nervous. I've been keeping track of them to let my doctor know and noticed they tend to happen after I've eaten really greasy food. So I was thinking maybe it's not a heart flutter I'm feeling but rather heart burn.

Anyway, last night I went to bed and I noticed I could feel my heart beating. I don't know if I can always feel it and I just ignore it but I couldn't ignore it last night, it was making me so nervous. And then I would fall asleep and wake up quickly because it felt like I was having a heart flutter. I honestly think it was all in my head, but needless to say I couldn't sleep and woke up through out the entire night and of course today I have to go work out with my trainer so I can't sleep in. UGH!

Hope it's nothing serious. Sounds like maybe a bit of an anxiety attack. Are you becoming anxious after eating fatty foods?:confused3:rotfl2:

I have some pics of Domo and Danboard that I took and posted on an art website. I uploaded some more last night and then in less than a minute after I uploaded the pics, it already had comments and people were marking it as one of their favorites :) I was really surprised and thought it was also really cool. There is one pic I have of 2 domos carrying a kit kat bar away. lol. That one has 27 people who saved it into their favorites. :faint:

I do not like the weather this week. It's been nothing but rain rain rain. It's really scary to drive on the roads and the freeway when it's pouring. I'm nervous and get into the slow lane and go about 45-50mph. In the mean time, I see a lot of douche bags who go over 90 mph and think they are in the Indie 500! :sad2:

Wow Pix! That's the closest I've ever seen to you posting a bad word!:thumbsup2:rotfl2:

So it is snowing....has been for the last couple of days. This is still the little baby storm that Pix has been dealing with. We have about 6 inches so far....and we could potential (if it doesn't turn to rain) get up to 10 inches today. Not bad right??? Tonight we are supposed to get 20 inches...then another 14 tomorrow, and then Friday night we are forecasted HEAVY snow accumulations......so my main hope now is that we will be unburied in time for DL :eek::eek: :rotfl2:

Break out the shovels and plows!:scared1:

We had "freezing fog" last week - I wasn't quite sure what that meant

We get that every once in a while. It means it's foggy and it will freeze on the road...basically means don't drive because it's very slippery!

Borrowing from Dizzy....

:sad2::sad2::sad2:

Fine.. be that way. :snooty:

Reminders to self:
keep dirty socks off the floor
don't drink a giant glass of water before bed
pack a tape recorder to document loudest snorer --->Alison

Sounds like our black ice, minus the fog. It needs to be a certain temp to create black ice which is basically water vapor from car exhaust that freezes to the pavement.. can't see it but it's very slippery!

DING DONG Anyone home?

This is about all we got yesterday:

But it's so foggy. I've never seen it like this here:

These were on my way to work and it's way worse now. The front parking lot has spots for like 6 cars and then there is the street and I can't even see to the end of the lot as I look out the window.:scared1:

Didn't your mother ever tell you not to take pics with your cell phone and drive at the same time? J/k!!

Wow Pix! That's the closest I've ever seen to you posting a bad word!:thumbsup2:rotfl2:

I know! I am ashamed!!! :( Hahahahaha!! :rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl2:

Alison - interesting that you said it sounded like an anxiety attack, that's what my personal trainer said too. hmm. I'm going to the doc next week, we'll see what he says. I haven't had any weird feelings in my chest since that night so hopefully it wasn't anything serious.

So I wanted to apply to HRM program here but I need either a degree first or take their access course. In order to take their access course I need management experience, which I don't have. So in order for me to take the course I want without getting a degree first I have to move back to Canada.

Dh doesn't want to move back to Canada, he hates the winters and he has a good thing going on at work. I feel bad but I also feel like it's my turn now, we moved to Scotland following his career and if we want to incomes I need to go back to school and I can't do that here. I suggested we move back for the two years I need to get my education and then we can move wherever he wants. He agrees but I still feel bad. Why does life suck sometimes?

That's good that you are going to the doctor next week. Hopefully it's nothing serious or anything to worry about. :grouphug: That sucks about the HRM program. :( What you said about you moving to Scotland for your DH, I agree with you. I know that relationships are a give and take and about compromise. Both need to meet at least somewhere in the middle (my bf and I are learning that and working on that). If he agrees and says he will move back to Canada for you then that's great. Don't feel bad, because this is something that you want and if it's something that will make you happy and it's how you feel. I'm sure your DH just wants you to be happy. Plus, it's not permanent since you said it would only be for 2 years. :)

EEEK!
It's the Avon lady... everyone hide!

:rotfl2:

sorry, trundled off to bed right after I posted. :flower3:

:rotfl: Now what if I were from that Ed McMahon sweepstakes contest? :lmao:

Man 4 days of rain I love it :) just wish people knew how to drive and not be crazy driving in it :)

I hate the rain. I'm glad that it's actually a little bit sunny at the moment. It rained really hard last night and there were flashes of thunder..all this while I was trying to drive home. Very scary.

oh I know I hate driving in the rain I mean we even got a tornado watch I mean seriously in AZ???!!!! that is very unusal :) I like the snow however never had the oppurtunity to drive in it and probably would not want to ;)
Well I just booked 2 restaurants for my trip going to the plaza inn on sunday and fri going to goofy's kitchen :)

I just did my taxes. Whoo hoo, more Disneyland money! I e-filed my state and federal and opted for direct deposit so I hope it gets here soon.
