August 10th day 5

This was a golf day for dh. He had a 7:15 tee time @ the Magnolia. He snuck out of the room and we all slept in past 9! We had a relaxing breakfast in the concierge lounge then we headed to the pool. It was a much different story than yesturday, but then again it was still morning. I just love the pool in the morning because it's never crowded. We hung out for 3 hours. When my dh was done golfing he picked us up some lunch at Captain Cooks and brought it out to the pool.
When we were done swimming I wanted time by myself. I enjoyed the Afternoon Tea @ the GF so much I wanted to go back. I went to the GF to see if I could get in. I had to wait 30 minutes so I decided to walk around the shops and the grounds. We spent a lot of time at this resort on this trip. I love the Polynesian but I really want to try the GF on our next big trip. I've always enjoyed our visit over there.
When it was time for tea I headed back and ordered the Grand Tea. I was by myself and it was delightful:D This time the orchestra was playing. My dh and the kids found me:eek He needed to use to business center. I had enjoyed my hour alone and headed over to the business center. My dh ruined his laptop on Saturday and he needed to check in with some clients. I don't understand why the Polynesian doesn't have a business center? I would also like to know why they feel the need to chage guests $10 for 15 minutes when we were spending a lot of $$$ to stay at the resorts?
When he was done we thought it would be nice to walk back to the PR. We stopped by the pool with the slide and asked a guest if it ever got real busy and they said no. Every time we were over there or drove by on the monorail it was a comfortable crowd by the pool. One more reason for us to be interested in staying there.
When we got back we grabbed some drinks and PB&J's from the lounge. We decided to go to the CR. We went to the Outer Rim for some food and drinks. We went shopping and looked around the pool area when we were done eating. Then we headed back to the Polynesian to see the fireworks.

Day 6

We were heading to the MK this morning. We were only going to go for a couple of hours. We had an 8:05 PS at CRT. My favorite chocolate muffins were gone:( I don't care for the egg plate so I got the yogurt and that was tasty. The interaction with the princesses was pretty good. My 3 yr old loves coming to this breakfastprincess:
We hung around Fantasy Land and then headed over to Adventure Land and finished on the Riverboat. This was our first time taking a ride on the boat. The crowds were much better today. It still got very hot.
We had a great morning but decided to leave once it got too hot. We headed over to the GF for lunch. The GFC is one of our favorite lunch stops. The kids always get their peanut butter and marshmellow sandwhiches. For some reason the serice is always good here, but just very slow.
We walked back to the Polynesian. There were a lot of weddings going on this week.
I wanted to get some laundry done today since we were moving to the AKL tomorrow. Everyone went to the pool while I started the wash. I took a dip in the quite pool on the was to do laundry. The crowds were even thinning out at the main pool. It was about 1:30 and I got a lounge chair by the water's edge. My dh and my 9 yr old dd went out on the power boats. When they were done we all came back to the room for a nap.
We thought we would try doing an E night. It just got so hot @ the MK in the day so we thought we'd give it a try at night. We have never done an E night before (now that we have experienced it we won't be doing it anytime soon). When we were done with our naps we got some snacks and drinks from the lounge and hung out on the beach. We met the family staying in the room next to ours. We enjoyed talking with them on the beach, it was a beautiful evening.
We got to the MK @ 9 and watched the parade. We made our way to Adventure Land and rode the Pirates and then grabbed some burgers at Pecos Bill. I have never seen the fireworks over in that area, it was neat.
Another reason we did E night was so that we could ride BTM. It was down the other day when we tried at two different times. It was closed tonight as well:( My 3 yr old didn't ride anything, not even Pooh. I took her back a little after 12. My dh and the other two didn't get back until close to 1!!!!

Day 7
Everyone but dh got to sleep in. We got up at 9:20. He had to go play golf at 7:30. Boy did I feel sorry for him :p I decided to get going after breakfast. I got a taxi to take us over to the AKL. I didn't feel like waiting for bell services to transfer our luggage.
Our room wasn't ready. Checking in I asked if it was on the Zebra Trail (my only request). It wasn't but she found one that was:teeth: I took the kids down to the pool for a swim. It was pretty crowded, but I found a table by the bar. My dh called to see if it was ok if he had lunch and a drink with his buddy he met golfing. Fine but please hurry. We're hanging out at the pool and about 10 minutes later I have 1 hungry kid, 1 kid who wants to look at the animals and 1 kids who needs to go to the bathroom. Quick call to dh, I need you:headache:
He arrived just as the rain did. We changed in the locker room and meet in the Mara. My older two decide they want to have a fight during the lunch crowd.
We survive lunch and head to our room which is ready. I believe it was 5505? It faced the Arusha Savanna and it was close to the elevators. I love the rooms at the AKL. I just love this resort
:lovestruc
We thought we should go to MGM tonight since we knew the hurricane was coming tomorrow and we wouldn't be able to do much tomorrow night. We got to MGM after five and headed to Prime Time for our PS. We haven't been here since our first visit to WDW in 2000. We had a great server. We were next to a group of teenagers that were a hoot. The food was very good as were the drinks. By now we were getting quite the collection of glowing ice cubes.
It didn't turn out to be a good night doing rides. We split up and my dh took the girls to see the Voyage of the Little Mermaid. The show was filled and my 3 yr old was crushed:( When my ds and I caught up with them at RNR it was my son's turn to be let down. He was a tad to short to go on the ride. There was another young boy dealing with the same thing. My 9 yr old and I went on it for the first time. It was fun. We thought we'd give Fantasmic a try on the way out but the theater was filled to capacity. Was this my first WDW trip????? Well we were winging it that night and not much worked out but we still enjoyed our evening. Time to head back.
